Updated for Series 19

The Subreddits are already complaining that the new Tire Profile is only on a limited number of vehicles. Even though most of the cars in the game don't have enough space in the wheel well to justify having it.
They way they had worded it at first suggested the ability to downsize the wheels rather than increasing the diameter of the tire itself, hence my dissapointment in particular. With the rally suspension giving a bit more suspension travel I'm fairly sure it could have been possible to add slightly bigger tires for most cars (a bit like the 911 Dakar, let's say), slightly bigger than the offroad tires. I hope it's available on some of the older trucks like the Defender and CJ5 though.

I really hope atleast some of these are actual Rally Preps and not just that silly huge Tubular Bull Bar lazily attached to the front.
Probably rally lights and mudflaps for most of the ones that don't have them, maybe that weird spare tire rack on the top.

Did they show any of the actual bodykits?

For some reason, that location looks familiar to me, but I can't pin it down...
I found the pic on Reddit. It looks like the parking lot of a Grocery Outlet. Which is exactly where I would expect to see a zombie apocalypse Miata.

Really would have liked to see rally parts for the Sierra Cosworth and E30 M3 as well, but at least the other Group A and Group B cars that have lacked them get some love.

Love the new Street Fighter LA kits and a new Liberty Walk kit? That's good to see - there's plenty of new ones that have been designed since 2018, which was the last time we got a new LW kit. Hopefully PG are intending on adding more of these + more kits in general. More options are always welcome!

Bit disappointed that the new rally parts are only for Rally cars and the Tire Profile upgrade is for Trucks - would love to see these options on regular cars. I've expressed this many times but I really want to rally-ify more cars - and these upgrades would allow that. Please add them to more vehicles PG!

Overall a great update though. LC500 + Caddys are good additions and hopefully PG can keep this momentum going into Series 20 and beyond.

Oh are you serious? dunno why they'd do that, I'd rather it be permanent
Well, I have one theory. I believe they're testing the waters of the initial extended night time so that the mechanic would be permanent in the next iteration of Forza Horizon.

I happened to have watched a few Rimac Nevera YouTube videos recently, including this one:

Really happy to have it, even though we already have the concept. It's a hugely important landmark car in our road to electric hypercars which utterly devastate combustion engine performance, and Rimac is basically going to take over Bugatti on the back of their amazing work which should lead to some astonishing new cars in the coming 10 years or so.

I get why oversized tires are limited to pickups and SUVs, but I was really hoping to make a zombie apocalypse Miata.

Well look at it this way, History’s taught us that Forza Horizon expansions tend to be testing beds for the next Horizon game, so it’s entirely within the realm of possibility that they could expand on the tyre profile upgrades to more, if not nearly all cars in the next game. :P

Just like how they expanded on available tyre compound options for nearly all cars in this game, among other things.

It was pretty clear on the livestream exactly what it was. Unless you were only listening to the audio or getting the information second hand I don't see how anyone could get that impression. If it was downsizing the rims it would be in the rims menu, not a "New" upgrade. Since we have had downsizing of rims on a few vehicles already in FH4.

Agreed. And the fact that they introduced that this feature is available on all tire compounds also boosts my desire.
Because this feature could help create a drag style look.

FM7's FOX Mustang FE is a good example of this.
Wouldn't you like to see a muscle car with different size drag tires front and rear like this one?

Now, let's strike a balance by expressing our opinions on positive aspects as well as complaints.

The rally kit list includes one car that is out of place. -Subaru BRZ.
If it is not ManteoMax's mistake to include this car in the list, this Toyota 86 brother will have a different personality than his brother.
Perhaps this car could also be equipped with Rocket Bunny's widebody kit and rally kit together.
It definitely helps to build a crazy looking rally car.

I thought about maybe a Oval racing track in the stadium when I saw that computer screen teaser in the Torben Tuesday. Never thought it would actually be correct though. Something interesting and different to look forward to in April.

Overall I'm really happy with the update and the Release of the DLC anytime now. I've patiently stayed with the game during the quiet times and it feels good to have a period with some hype around the game.

If anything, its weirder that they didn't include parts for the GT86 as well, as that did get a proper rally model backed by Toyota themselves.

It wouldn't have even taken any additional work either, which makes it all the more baffling.

Really interested to see how all these new upgrades affect the meta if at all, and launch control too!
Absolutely. If launch control reduces the edge 4WD cars have off the line it could be very interesting.

I'm almost wondering if each subsequent series will start to focus on a different type of racing. Rally would obviously be this series and then they move on to one for drag racing with the leaked mini-story/rewards etc, especially as a way to prepare players for the new Motorsport game.

PG knocked this series out of the park, so excited for the Group A body kits. Only elephant in the room for me is that this would have been a perfect way to reintroduce FCA Italy cars for me but I don't think that is their fault.

Bug fixes

General

  • Fixed an issue with the Daily Wheelspins attached to owning the Hotel Castillo Player House which would sometimes unlock inconsistently
  • Fixed an issue with cars thumbnails being generated with black headlights and windows
    • Developer's Notes: Since thumbnails are generated locally, players with those corrupted thumbnails would need to edit their car (any modification would suffice, like changing paint, or livery or tuning). This process would force the system to re-generate the thumbnail which will be shown correctly afterwards.
  • Fixed an issue with the incorrect target number of photos in the Horizon Promo, specifically for Mercedes-AMG
  • Fixed an issue with Accolades where some players were able to accumulate more accolades points than intended while being offline
  • Fixed a crash on PC which was occurring when the display was not connected to the primary graphics adapter
  • Client Security updates
  • General performance and stability fixes
Cars

  • Fixed an issue where cars were unable to rev past 3000 RPM when shifting from first to reverse gear and vice-versa
  • Fixed an issue with the 1976 Jeep CJ5 Renegade where wheels on the thumbnail were flipped around
  • Fixed an issue with inconsistent paint/vinyl options on the 2020 #20 MG6 Xpower stock wing
  • Fixed an issue with the 1958 Plymouth Fury rear view mirror which was compressing cars making them appear taller and thinner
  • Fixed an issue with the 1997 BMW M3 where corrupted textures were showing when the car was damaged
Accolades

  • Fixed an issue with "Open Empire" Accolade which didn't have a tracker in the Accolade menu
  • Fixed an issue with "Baja Bug" Accolade which was not getting completed upon meeting its requirements
EventLab

  • Corrected the UI indicator for the over-budget props when editing a blueprint
Multiplayer

  • Fixed an issue in Convoys where sometimes players couldn't use any d-pad menus after a disconnection
  • Fixed an issue where sometimes players were not able to access most game features if accessing The Eliminator via Hot Wheels Menu tab
  • Fixed an issue in "Las Afueras" Street Race upon resetting the car after missing a specific checkpoint
  • Improvements made to reduce client crashes when being challenged into a Head-to-Head in The Eliminator or in Free Roam

Seems like a big one

The Porsche 959 is listed as having new rally parts but I can't find anything different about it. Otherwise all the other cars get some form of spotlights/bashbar/roof vent/mudflap combo. Nothing incredibly exciting.

Initial test with DLSS 3 Frame Generation a bit disappointing. Only gained about 25% FPS on my 4080. (4K Extreme Settings with TAA, increase from about 96 average to 124 in the Benchmark). But I am noticing that my GPU is limiting itself to about 70% when DLSS 3 is enabled. Almost like the game is setting a soft 120 FPS limit when FG is enabled. A shame when my monitor supports 4K at 144Hz.
Also Reflex can only be enabled if Frame Generation is turned on.
