I'm still in the middle of reading that list, but I noticed the Lotus Cortina is among them. I remember someone being disappointed at not seeing it among the Ford cars in an earlier Twitter post, though I can't remember who.
There's a few cars in there that are missing from the "all the cars in x brand" official lists...

We lost BMW…
By a quick copy/paste into excel, this so far represents 427 of the games cars. The absence of BMW from the list is concerning but maybe they'll be a dedicated reveal?

edit: they do say we’ll have even more cars and manufacturers too so that leaves that door open still

Bentley and Mini are also missing as well. 427/543 cars leaves plenty of room for reveals of those brands.

Also noticed these in the list;

2017FordM-Sport Fiesta RS
1977Ford#5 Escort RS1800 MkII

Both weren't in the Ford Reveals on the official twitter account.

What is going on here?

I have the suspicion about the just-announced cars that weren't on the Twitter brand reveals. Maybe the physics overhaul meant some amount of reprogramming for some of the more esoteric or old-school cars -- note that a lot of the omissions, like a bunch of the pre-1990 Porsches, might have different types of braking dynamics or suspension travel that still need to be fine-tuned before they can be confirmed for launch. At least, that's my theory for why the 917LH showed up as a surprise.

As for no BMW: when was the last time, if ever, any racing franchise of even modest note launched a new installation without them? I've never heard of them being tied up in an exclusive deal (like Porsche) or having some weird identity crisis about their branding (like Toyota). And there are a lot of manufacturers still not listed, like Bentley and Bugatti and and Fiat, that I can't imagine being excluded in any fashion. Besides, Lancia's absent from that list and we've already seen the Stratos actually get highlighted in a Let's Go!

What gets me is why is T10/PG so hesitant on updating Audi?

For god's sake, The Crew 2 has the latest TT RS. Forza only has the 2015 TTS and still has the 2010 TT RS. Already, that's one car that can be added to freshen up the car list. The latest RS7 Sportback can be added in, and the e-tron GT too. (Though my gut feeling is that this one is probably going to be car pass material) There's a good selection of vehicles, new and old, that can be added to the brand, but they simply...don't. It's been clear the brand has needed a refresh or something new since FH3.

I mean, for Toyota at least, it is incredibly clear to me in hindsight that Toyota had a limited time exclusivity deal with GT Sport and the A90 Supra that timed out relatively recently, but that is neither here nor there. For BMW, I get the sense that the way it's being worded, they're probably want to have them be apart of the brand reveals, but it's so weird. Why then is Mini cut as well, considering they are a BMW brand as well?

It certainly doesn't bode well, and if it's going to be another Mitsubishi situation, where they get added in later...then people are going to be pissed off. Somewhat rightfully, I might add.

No bmw is a real del braker for me.
“Welcome to our Forza Horizon 5 car list. This list isn’t final, as we’ll be expanding it with even more cars and manufacturers in the weeks ahead, so check back regularly for all the latest updates.”

We don't know BMW won't be included. This isn't the full list.
It certainly doesn't help matters that it isn't the full list, even with the vague wording that gives people hope. Considering that Mini isn't available as well, and Rolls Royce has been MIA since FH3...no surprise people are already doomsday posting.

There's a lot of manufacturers missing:
Buggatti
Mazda
Mini
BMW

All of which are a fairly safe bet to have cars in the game.
Volvo as well.

The FJ40 is back from FH3 too. Nice to see. I bet that some of these missing manufacturers have a new car they're adding that they're waiting to reveal or they just haven't gotten everything secured yet. Still, I hope some of these holes will be filled in

And People screams about "No BMW"
Eck! in this list there isn't even Lancia, and the Stratos is confirmed!

When PG literally tells us that this is only a partial list and there's more brand/ model reveals to come, why are people freaking out and thinking "OMG IT'S NOT THERE!!!!" when reading a partial list that'll be updated several times in the next two months?
One, they lack reading comprehension or two, they skipped right to the list without reading the article and assumed it was the full list.
Anyone who has been paying attention can tell it isn't the full list as it is nowhere near long enough to be considered the largest number of cars at launch ever in the franchise.

I'm sorry....what?

Are we getting a legit monster truck? That's awesome!

To echo what's already been said, this isn't a final list, but it seems like PG issued this list as a way of announcing a whole bunch of the "minor" brands, as well as a way to reveal a lot of the returning vehicles from previous games.

What is a bit concerning though is the lack of consistency between this list, what we saw in today's stream, and the social media posts. For example, the #5 Escort and 917 LH were omitted from the Twitter posts, yet we see them being revealed in both the stream and the confirmed car list. I have a hard time believing that the licenses for those 2 cars took longer to secure, so that tells me there's some issue in communication between the Devs and the social media team, which isn't a great look. I'm sure there's several other examples besides those 2 as well.

On a minor note, DeBerti Designs looks as if it's being treated as its own manufacturer, so we'll probably get more vehicles down the line (there were strong rumors that the Drift Tacoma was supposed to be added to FH4 at one point). Hopefully the F150 will get its proper suspension, as it's a bit too stiff in FH4, and should behave more like the DeBerti Wrangler.

Also, unless this is going to be another oddly delayed reveal, it's odd that the F50 & F50 GT are back, but only the F40 roadcar is present, and not the LM variant.

Also Also, someone seems to have missed a typo or edit, because it looks like the Welcome Pack DLC will be returning, as the Bronco R has been listed as the "#2069 Ford Performance Bronco R 'Welcome Pack'."

No-one has mentioned the on screen confirmation of 250 boards yet.

We got the number of roads in the last edition of ...

This is the biggest thing - it's very bush league to leave the social media team more or less flying blind, and don't see eye to eye in terms of what the devs have added into the game in terms of cars.

Related to that, I think this factor is also not helping the BMW/Mini situation - considering all that went on with Toyota the past few years, and what happened with Mitsubishi in FH4, it's not a good look as well to not have a brand that, to this point at least, has been present within the Forza games since the beginning, and to my knowledge has never had an issue with regards to licensing their brand that wasn't simply due to paying the fees to do so. Even if it is doomsday prophesizing, I don't blame people for going that route tbh.

I must have glanced away - I saw 200 XP boards (influence boards I guess), but not the 250 number. Guess that's fast travel boards too?

For a more positive take on BMW: I’ve been thinking of potential new-to-Forza BMWs that might lead off the (hypothetical) BMW reveal. The production M8? The i4? The new M3 or M4, even though nobody likes the grilles? Or more controversially, any of their SUVs?

I think they’re all great candidates, and I think Playground/T10 are hiding at least one of those for a proper reveal.

The 250 number came up on screen immediately afterwards. And I agree the other 50 are presumably fast travel boards.

Plus a spoiler alert - was there a board at the top of that temple ramp where he jumped over the other players - it looked like it to me?

I would probably put money on the production M8.

The M8 it's the most quoted candidate as new BMW
I bet also that new M3 or M4 will come in future, the "Beaver Bimmers" XD

I would expect to see at least one of the SUVs as well, since there seems to be a heavier focus on offroad racing.

It's weird to see the Sierra RX3 there. They build those just a few miles away from me and I see them running around from time to time. They're kind of cool since it's essentially a go-kart with a Hayabusa engine in it.

Im soo glad they finaly put some effort in the wheel support, cuz Forza Horizon is the perfect game to cruise but the wheel support was just meh. Now im even more hyped and the improved physics are always welcome. And why is eveybody panicking over BMW, im 100% sure they will be in the game same for Audi. I think they will introduce newer models thats why they keep it till the end.
