Lol!
Why is everyone getting asshurt over the lack of tuning?
It's an arcade racer, when the hell did they ever have tuning?
I just watched the gameplay video and I'm not too impressed by the whole arcade vibe the game gives off (crashing into things and sliding around grants you points).
Free roam better be single player and multi player. Just driving around with friends will be awesome!

"...the optional green line that shows ideal cornering approaches and speeds; the rewind button for unspooling crashes; a full range of customisable driver assists; a detailed in-car camera; and support for Microsoft's wireless Speed Wheel and Fanatec's superb CSR force-feedback steering wheel. You won't, however, be able to tune your cars - though you can modify their appearance - and damage is only cosmetic, too."
What's wrong with it being a little arcadey?
are they classing tuning as tuning or tuning as upgrading....as in, can we still do engine/ suspension upgrades etc?
I think they mean tuning as changing tire pressure, adjusting gears etc.
Well, that might be because "arcade racer" is usually used to describe the polar opposite of what a simulation is supposed to be.Who said anything about physics?I said the game gives me an Arcade type of feeling when I read about it on FM.net and watched the video. I will stick with FM4 that style is not my cup of tea.
Eh. I guess I just got the wrong idea of what you were saying, then. It's still not something you'd expect to do in a simulator.
By the way, I meant "arcade" less in physics and more in stylw--the whole festival atmosphere, the emphasis on street racing, etc.
Yeah, that would be awesome. I'd also like to know what kind of roads are included. A few very twisty back roads (think Fujimi Kaido, a bit of touge-style) would be a brilliant addition.I'm curious how big the actual map will be. If it's really large it might be sweet if you could race from one end to the other and drive at least (a couple of) hundred miles or so.
Well... I'm kinda concerned that some enthusiat's cars are not gonna make it. The Hachiroku and the Miata would spring to mind. Finger's crossed, though. T10 probably know that stuff like that would be big omission. No they said they picked (are picking) cars that made sense to be at the "Horizon festival" ie street racing.
That would make the most sense, anyways. They have a perfectly viable physics engine, anyways. It'd be plain dumb to create an arcady one from scratch if you can just use the one you've got already.Watching the game trailers footage of Dan playing, to me it looked like the cars had their weight from FM4, but the STM and TCM allow more drift for casuals is all.

They seemed to have toned down the effects of collisions. In FM4 if you hit cars or armco like that you'd spin out and probably flip over.
I've just read a Dutch article about Horizon where they wrote that there isn't going to be any form of police in the game. And I saw the video so this game is now confirmed to be amazing. Anyone else see if that helicopter at the end of the trailer had flashing blue and red lights.
We should have no issues with physics. Its been reiterated in every video that it has Forza's physics.
I agree. The only thing that worries me are locked tuning setups determined by the developer which players have no option to change.
I was going to bring up how he never losses traction, but judging by the measly 20% bonus at the end I'm guessing he still has all assists on, maybe with just difficulty above average or something minor like that.
I'd still rather have the option to tune my cars.
So many cars in FM4 are quite, well, crappy with the default setup. With a proper suspension setup, though, they feel much better.
He has at least two assists on in that video. You can see the abs and tcs lights flashing in the rev counter
However, a simulator is supposed to replicate reality, so I don't see why it would have to be limited to a track. Anyways, personally, I love that someone's making an "action racer" like that with a proper physics engine.
