I doubt that they'd call that "a new track", though.

Porsche is confirmed out

I hate it when I'm right :grumpy:

Should have known EA would have something to do with it.

Since MS still has the Ferrari license I would fully withhold it from them. Fully.

Then I'd try and get my hands on exclusivity licenses with Pagani, Koenigsegg, Ford, Ascari...just, just leave them with nothing.

That would only Hurt EA but then they would just turn this into a license war that the world does not need at all. Or T10 can just do like 2K and just keep making a superior game (ouch NBA Live got murdered by 2K basketball literally).

on a lighter note on today's news, Fujimi Kaido confirmed. Also, autocross on race tracks? That's super awesome and unfortunate at the same time. I was hoping Turn10 would build some special stages for autocross, like FM1.

So?

EA is hurting themselves with all of these half-assed, moronic decisions they make.

EA wouldnt such a powerhouse if they made moronic decisions all the time. Sadly, they are sucessful in that area.

The whole Ferrari vs Porsche license is silly though. Basically T10/MS and EA got screwed. I blame both not one or the other.

They're only a "powerhouse" because they keep purchasing third-party developers to call their own. And believe me, EA has made nothing but half-assed and moronic decisions for the past 4, 5 years.

Am I the only one that wants to trick out a beetle? Like a 69 or 71 VW Bug with a Porsche 914 engine swap, nice paint, and some good looking wheels?

If I had a wish it would be for that...

Quoting from the other thread, because it made me think - I know that, with some unmentionable fiddling, people were getting other car's wheels on their rides (for an example, let's say... R34 rims on an R32). I'm wondering, since T10 has made it clear they actually do pay attention to their fans, if they haven't introduced this sort of thing directly into the game, sort of like GT4's "Today's Special" selections. It's an incredibly cool idea, and should be rather easy to implement.

I'd talk about the Porsche news, but... the less said, the better :(

These vehicle affinity levels are rather interesting: it's no longer linked as it were in the previous games with the cap being Lv. 5. Now there are 50 levels and the rewards associated with the new leveling system aren't dependent upon having to roll through multiple cars with the same manufacturer. Only thing I'm not entirely sure about is you can get to the point where upgrades are entirely free. Now it's implied that this occurs at Lv. 5 but it could have been the way I read it without pausing (there was a full stop before discussing 100% free upgrades).

The best thing about all of this is they designed it so less than 1% will have maxed out any one individual car within 24 months. Epic.

Well, I wouldn't be suprised if they managed to implement something like this... I mean, it's not like it takes an insane amount of work to get it done. In fact, I think they'd have to model the wheels (for example) anyways, so re-using them on other cars (of the same brand, that is) would make sense.

I'm also expecting massive complaints because a lot of people will feel ebtitled to have everything in the game at their fingertips the second it boots up for the first time
But I like it, too. There's a lot to be done in the game, I think.

This is one of the best info in this news post. No more ridiculous car leveling (where you hit level 5 in no time, like about 40 minutes of racing). Behold the new manufacturer leveling system ! I like it :dopey:

I love the leveling system as a whole. Getting to player level 50 should be easy enough, getting some nice monetary rewards thereafter seems to be quite nice, as well. I like :D

Also, the manufacturer leveling system is pretty much perfect. Free upgrades is nice for sure! I'm still going to focus on a manufacturer or two just for the bragging rights, though

Considering that they want to have less than 1% of players to get to player level 150/manufacturer level 50 within the next two years, that's a pretty insane amount of content to wade through. I can't see myself being one of those 1% of players, though

You mean I have to work for it now!?!? WTF!! :)

If that's what you consider 'work', then yes  But that's the exact kind of response I'm expecting about a week after FM4 being released (I know you were just being sarcastic, Bogie ;) ).

"WTF T10, I haz got life, Y U NO giev max lvl?!"

I love they way they did it. The most important stuff is right where it was in FM3, or even easier to reach. They just added lots of small stuff on top, which is pretty awesome, as far as I am concerned. But I doubt it'll go well with today 'wants everything right now' kind of gamer :indiff:

Yup...the way they did it is awesome. I love that they were able to use stats that they generated from the previous game to help determine this, as well as player feedback.

This 18 month/150 levels thingy is good news. I was somewhat disappointed to hit level 50 so quickly in FM3. I think it took like one month. Wait ... live.xbox.com ... Welcome to Forza Motorsport unlocked on 10/21/2009, Driver Level 50 unlocked on 10/29/2009. Heck, it took only one week (of intensive play, admittedly :p).

I wasn't that fast, of course, but I still was quite fast, I think

I'd have to check how fast I did it myself, of course, but I guess everyone on these boards would qualify as a hardcore player compared to most others, anyways.

Checked it for you :p

You must be playing offline quite often, there is no achievement time on your profile :yuck:

Took me awhile, lol!

Hehe, yeah, I'm offline 90% of the time. Dunno, I can't be bothered to hook my Xbox to my laptop to get online unless I specifically intent to get updates or participate in multiplayer stuff of some sort

I didn't know it could only track the time if I was online. Oh well, guess I'm remaining mysterious this way :sly:

Yeah, achievements unlocked when offline are not "time stamped", probably because you could then be able to "fake" this time stamp by changing the console internal time.

I actually have 2 profiles. My main one is the same as my PSN and name on here. My other one is mostly offline stuff when I want to fool around in. Sadly I spend a lot of time on that one too lol. No live gold account for my alternate so those 'cheevos' I got on that are no good. My main account I believe I have 7 races in the final R1 championship of season 6 and am 1 level from 50. I also spend SO MUCH TIME just browsing the auction house.

I recently got into the Ultimate Team in FIFA11 and I've spent probably double the time in the auctions than actually playing games in the UT mode lol

Holy crap!! Level 50 in 7 days?! I guess if you solely play the career/events you can get their a lot quicker.

Guys, I don't know whether you've noticed this, but in this week's roundup, T10 is stating the following:
You can customize the 2000GT-R pretty much any way you’d like - whether it’s dropping in a RB26DETT, converting to AWD, or deleting the front and rear bumpers for a clean race-ready look.
So, bumper deletes? That's new, isn't it?

I think you could do it on a couple of the old muscle cars (removing the big chrome bumpers). Im not 100% sure about that seeing as how its been awhile since iv'e really messed around with that part of FM3.

Bumper deletes on classics will be epic. I can't think of any classic, raced car that doesn't look better with the bumpers.

I really don't know, to be quite honest. I'm hoping for a bunch of 'delete' options, though. Spoilers, for example. Could be nice.
