Dang...I must say, the music score for Halo is one of the best in games. I still get goosebumps when I hear that.

Anybody disappointed by the new tracks they're adding this time round? The Alps track looks fantastic but I was personally really hoping for some Stelvio Pass styled variations with proper mountain roads to race along (think Fujimi Kaido and that Positano track). Seeing on the Forza site that the track has no variations of that style is a real shame considering I thought that would be their goal with that location.

Other than that, the addition of Indianapolis, Hockenheim and the Top Gear track isn't terribly thrilling. At least Infineon is a fun track? :indiff:

I wish they'd bring back some of the tracks from the first Forza game such as Blue Mountain Raceway (Bathurst), Alpine Ring and Rio De Janeiro :(

Track looks amazing. Having 6 variations of the track = no variations? :nervous:

They have announced 4 tracks, with about 28 more tracks to announce. Not sure how we can be disappointed when we don't know the majority of the tracks yet. :dunce:

Looking beyond the weekend, we have a couple of things that we know you’ll want to have on your radar. First of all, next week we’ll be revealing a new track for you all I can’t tell you anything other than that it’s a very old friend.. Also, for all of you who frequent our forums, we’re giving it a makeover sometime soon. It’s going to look a lot more like the new Forza Motorsport site. I’ve played around with the new skin and it looks great. We’ll let you know when that rolls out.

Im guessing.... "Indianapolis Motor Speedway"

Looks like the old friend was Maple Valley Raceway. But that doesn't make any sense because they said it would be a new track and Maple Valley isn't new. :odd: Maybe it was poor wording on their part. ("another" instead of "new")

An Old Friend Returns

Last week we promised the return of a favorite track in Forza 4 and today we unveil it: the classic Maple Valley track is returning to Forza 4! Long a fan of racers and drifters alike, the gorgeous track tucked in the New England hills is coming to Forza 4 with a few cosmetic upgrades and the same high-speed action you’ve come to expect. Here’s Alex with more on the track:
maple_valley_splash.jpg

One of the most beautiful and enduring circuits in the Forza franchise, Maple Valley is a deceptively challenging course that has something to offer for racers, photographers, and drifters of every level. Set in the fictional woods of Maple Valley in New England, the course is a showcase of natural beauty and history—don’t miss the brand-new covered bridge, sure to become a hotspot for photographers looking to capture the perfect images of their Forza rides. For racers, the initial experience of the sweeping turns and gentle elevation changes provides an enjoyable place to build skills, but many of the course’s corners—particularly the downhill segments—will provide a true test of nerves as perfect braking and turn in are required to master them. The narrow course also has few places to pass, so racing strategy is paramount—pick your overtaking spot wisely. More than anything else, Maple Valley is one of the most fluid courses around, with a flow that results in a high average speed. That also makes the course, especially the short variant, perfect for drifting as well. Regardless of what you want to do on-track at Maple Valley, the stunning colors of the fall leaves are the perfect backdrop.

So, needless to say, it’s been a heck of a week here at Turn 10 HQ. Next week we’ll have more news, more car announcements, another edition of Under the Hood, and, well, more cool stuff! See you then!

The warthog is an MS thing and for the fans. If it's AutoVista only I'm fine with it. Wasn't planning on using it in races.

Maple valley looks good!!

Uh-oh, you can't read? :nervous:

Do you really think those 28 tracks will be completely new and not just all the tracks we had in FM3? :dunce:

I'm really pleased that Hockenheim is in. The fictional tracks don't interest me at all so the more real life tracks the better. I'm not so pumped about Indy and Infineon, but they'll do.

Top of my wishlist would be:

Spa Francorchamps
Portimao
Zandvoort

Lol, props to the member who called out Maple Valley as being the "Old Friend". 👍👍

Love the $150 5g achievement 👍

As the comments say, its the "I'm going to my friends house to borrow his kinect for 5g" achievement.

Have we seen any older tracks from F3 in the game yet? The tracks in F3 looked stunning and most likely the best looking tracks on a whole of any sim but due to the big up step up in graphics on the cars and the new lighting system i am a little worried the tracks will need to be downgraded for the 360 to cope?

Road America is the only one that has had released gameplay footage. And no, no, and no.

Real World tracks > Fantasy.

I am hoping for real tracks, and not many pretty scenery, waterfall, tulip fields, tracks. Give me Zolder, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Mt Panorama, etc. etc.

I could care less for Maple Valley to be honest. I am very happy Road America, and Hockenheim are in....just cross my fingers for more of those.

This.

Totally agree. Real world tracks are where it's at for me. Shift 2's tracklist was a dream come true.

HBK
I wouldn't be surprised if Unicorns are easier to obtain this time (much less rare).
I would hope so. I won't mind if I can't get them, but releasing more into the auction house would probably help to stop huge amounts of credits from building up across the community in the first place...

Yeah, Shift 2 has the best tracklist of any racing game I've played.

Spa, Bathrust, Zolder, Brands Hatch, Donnington, Suzuka, Laguna Seca, Nurburgring

They actually had some really good fictional tracks too though like Glendale Raceway 👍

Alpental was another good one, if a little short.

I don't mind fictional tracks if they have a real world feel to them. Most fictional tracks have too much of a video game feel to them though, if that makes sense.

The tracks I will miss the most from Shift 2 are probably going to be Brno Circuit and Brands Hatch GP, as well as the Dubai Autodrome... But, anyways, I love the Bernese Apls in FM4, and if T10 created another track like that, or maybe even two, that'll be all I'm asking for.

For now :dopey:

I hope there is another track coming as DLC at some point. Regular track DLC would be nice rather than just one. It would be a great money spinner.

Spa Francorchamps if you're listening, Turn 10.

Actually, they stated that their new improved lighting system actually uses less resources, and has been less taxing on the 360. So no worries there.

Agreed. 👍

I love maple valley but that "jump" needs to go...

Same goes for the Camino tracks.

Shift 2's track list is especially good at catering lower class compacts too, Forza's track are mostly too wide open the simple for the slower cars.

Yeah the fictional ones were pretty damn good, and felt "real world".

Exactally. Ones that feel like a track and not a windy highway in a fantasy land with waterfalls and fields of flowers.

I would pay for a real world track pack. If it was done right.

They did great on the track list with the many config's for each class of car. Dubai had such a great configuration to cater to all types.

To be honest, I would love to just all the tracks from S2, replaced into FM4. Scrap Maple Valley, scrap the Alps, just give me S2 tracks!

Dubai Autodrome is awesome, so would definitely love to see that appear in Forza at some point.
