Will Forza 4 have night racing and weather?

Doesn't seem likely

From what Dan was saying if there is night racing/weather racing, it'll be a selectable option. It won't be changing.

Im thinking no to weather but i think night racing remains a possibility. Im not saying this mean anything but it does give us hope. The cover has the 458 with its headlights on (although its during the day :odd:) Or maybe the lights come on for dusk which does seem to get pretty dark.

I'm sure some box art of the FM3 LCE had the Audi R8 with the same pseudo headlights on..

I'd pretty much expect in 2 years they've done as much as they can within reason, you'll have the dusk/dawn alternate times of day on a few tracks (not all), a combination of the graphics engine would need overhauling, and obviously the timescales just make it too much of a realistic ask (at a rock solid 60fps).

I'm happy with taking everything they've announced, as long as we get a few minor tweaks to the core stuff (aero-damage in pitstops for example) and maybe either sort the AWD issue, or just give us FWD/RWD/AWD leaderboards, I can wait another 2 years for the next Xbox and FM5 with weather/night with the IQ it deserves.

Most likely just running day lights. I mean my Jetta even has those lol.

Either that or they were just going for a "cool factor."

Just upgraded from my MS wheel to a Fanatec Turbo S with standard pedals and shifter set. Found it brand new on Ebay for $325. http://www.ebay.com/itm/150653430862?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_1410wt_1270Now Im excited. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

You lucky mofo.

Yeah, Shift 2 has the best tracklist of any racing game I've played.

Spa, Bathrust, Zolder, Brands Hatch, Donnington, Suzuka, Laguna Seca, Nurburgring

They actually had some really good fictional tracks too though like Glendale Raceway 👍

Yeah but the problem with real tracks is, they should be really original and exactly builded (like in GT5 :) )

I only played Suzuka in Shift 2 but the track is an completely different track than the Suzuka that I know from other games and the TV. It is sooo extra wide, that is no fun to drive... The same problem is in FM3. Nordschleife feels and looks like an fictional track... I hope they will fix this in FM4 but I have less hope...

What? Really original real locations? What?

No. And you do realize basing the apparent accuracy of a track off of a video game and what you see on TV has no credibility at all, right? Because if that's that case...PD modeled the Top Gear Test Track hella wrong.

It may not be 97% accurate but it still looks like the Green Hell to me.

I think by original he means accurately modelled. FM3's Nordschleife is often considered too wide (I hate the track so no problem for me), and most of the tracks in Shift 2 are not exactly scale representations of their real-life counterparts.

I actually think Forza does a great job of it's track models. They look life-like and detailed. The only downside is that the track surface is often too smooth, but hopefully this has been addressed in FM4.

All I really want with the cars is the ability to turn the headlights and rear lights off, like in NFS: HP3.

Exactly. That's what I don't get... people complaining about track accuracy based off experiences from tv and video games.

I have personally never been to MANY and never driven ANY of the tracks in sim racers; which is the reason why I race in sims! I will most likely NOT be able to; well unless life hands me a loaded deck and I make it through Vet Med / Med School. Then it is on; only then will you hear me complain about track accuracy.

But, continue complaining about how Forza's Nurburgring Northern Loop is inaccurate, and then base that assumption off of how it differs from GT5. LOL.

Well we know for a fact that the Nordschliefe is inaccurate, as not only T10 acclaimed to such themselves but a few members here (I believe Scaff is one of 'em) have driven around the Green Hell. So that much we do know.

As far as Suzuka in S2U goes, it's about as accurate as any other game I've seen. The best representation would probably be F1 2010.

This.

Terronium-12 is quite right, T10 have been quite open about the changes made to the 'ring in the various versions of Forza, mainly consisting of widening the track. However that has a knock on effect of changing the profile of the corners and the overall length of the track. This was more evident in the original Forza than in FM2 and FM3, however the track was still too wide in FM3.

I can also confirm this to be true based on my own experience at the 'ring,

If you can get to Germany then you can drive round the Nordschliefe. You don't need to be a professional racer to take a car round the track 👍

Just make sure you don't crash your car 5 seconds after getting it onto the track like this one idiot I saw on YouTube

You are certainly lucky to have driven at Nurburgring. That track is my number one on my list; once I have the financial capability I will visit.

However, I wasn't commenting on it's accuracy in Forza; rather, the basis of which people make their assumptions that it is inaccurate (i.e. Media). Like I said I cannot comment on the accuracy of tracks because I haven't been to many!

You make it sound so easy!

But, unfortunately I just do not have the means or the way. I still have several years of school left; then perhaps.

Ah here we go, found it! This guy lasts 7 seconds on the 'Ring :sly:

Sorry about that, for some reason I thought you were in Europe. I only just noticed it says Texas under your name :ouch:

Haha, wow. So what are the restrictions for going on the Ring; just be a licensed and insured driver lol?

Its a public toll road and subject to normal German traffic laws on public days.

They class it as an de-restricted autobahn and as such you need a licence, insurance and a road legal car and that's it.

However the flip side of that is that you can still get arrested for dangerous driving (you can only pass on the left for example), you can't race and any damage you cause to the track and closure you have to pay for. Oh and a lot of non-German insurance companies don't cover the 'ring so you need to watch out for that as well.

A single mistake can end up costing a lot.

Pretty much, as far as I know 👍

Alternatively you can hop in a BMW M5 with Sabine Schmitz :sly:

Interesting. Did you take a course, attend the driving school, or just hop on and go?

You sir are now welcomed to club Snootyville, where we have toilets that spray your behind and a person to wipe it for you. You order a steak and they kill a whole cow , cut YOUR steak, and throw the rest away. Club Snootyville where caviar is ground into a soap like paste and used to wash the spoon that they'll serve you "ultra" caviar with. Now you're in "the club". While you sleep they are actually sewing in new down feathers where you're about to roll over meanwhile they remove the stitching and take the old feathers away and replace them new from the spot you just rolled from. Welcome to the club.

Splitscreen online in a sim racing game?

They can leave that out.

Well...crap. I could have sworn I clicked on the car list thread. Oh well. Deleted.

Wow, 7-seconds on the Ring. Good going. My last few insurance policies actually list the Nordschleife separate to any other track in their exclusions.
