Why does he always talk trash about Porsch?

What a hater

Same reason he calls every American fat, or suggests that every Chinese person on the face of the planet eats dog -- he's Jeremy Clarkson, that's just what he does.

Jeremy doesn't hate Porsche, In fact quite the opposite. Here he claims the 997 turbo is a better real world car than one of his beloved Ferrari's

When you think about how much of a Prancing horse fanboy he is, it's quite the statement. He also thinks the 911 Carrera was a better overall car than the SLK, but he still bought the SLK because all he really cares about is "Poweeeeeer"

He also thinks the GT3 RS is an "astonishing car" and lets not forget the Carrera GT review ..but the offhanded comments about porsche makes for good TV doesn't it?

Make no mistake, the Carrera GT would have had a glowing commentary in Autovista

I know bro.. Hold me

Porsche should be upset too, I doubt EA will showcase the cars like FM4.. Unless they rip off the AV idea, kind of like Turn 10 ripped of "Rivals mode" Revenge act maybe?

Actually, I'm not that big of a Porsche fan. It's just, I dunno, it doesn't feel right. I mean, when GT1 came out, it didn't feel right that they didn't have Ferraris and Lambos and whatnot. Now GT5 have them, which is only "right", but it's still lacking Porsche.

And now Forza lost Porsche too. I mean, this sucks. Having "car games" with such impressive rosters lacking Porsche is just wrong.

Think about this though. If Porsche doesn't sign the contract for EA this year (and it's rumored they might not) then we would already have a couple of Porsche's narrated by Jeremy in Autovista. Given that T10 is allowed the license. I wouldn't be surprised if it's free too. That's just my opinion though, don't quote me on it.

Despite all the said graphic improvements, its looks the same as Forza 3 here.

The lighting, colours and shading could be a lot better to me. Perhaps its just an unfortunate shot.

Shaded interior, not in FM3.
white shine of clear coat at narrow angle, not in FM3.
properly satuated taillights, not in FM3.
high dynamic range without areas of over exposure, not in FM3.
Poly count on this model, not in FM3.

Really, load up FM3 and try to take a shot this good.

I agree with jj72. Forza 3 to me looked great but this photo of the new m5, and I'm not sure if it's been post processed outside of the game (a TRUE bullshot) but it looks like a big improvement.

I'm comparing T10's pre release shots of Forza 3 to this pre release of F4. Both games have screens released that are far beyond what you get in the retail version of Forza 3. The subtle changes of tail light saturation etc and whites shines hardly change anything. And the range on this blue BMW shot is nothing to write home about, not exposed lol?

Minor tweeks. I'm not saying these pre release shots are crap in quality or having a pop, you can save the fm.net bullet points, they're very clean renders but the same old unconvincing colours on the cars, strange surreal look. Ugly dark and bright areas, not much range. I'm looking at this BMW gameplay based screen. I'm sure auto vista has it much better.

I'm holding on to that thought. :nervous:

I think the actual color of the M5 is kind of a poor color to show off the new lighting of FM4.

Take the black BMW from FM3 thats posted.

Now look at how much better FM4 looks.

still unsure what to make of Forza 4. The Autovista shots look amazing but the actual in game footage seems to be significantly different (as in nowhere near as good).

Makes my suspicious of their claims.

There are quite a few pictures taken of the cars in motion, though, which don't come from AutoVista. Same goes for the various gameplay videos.

So far, FM4 looks pretty amazing to be - better than I thought it could look on the 360, at the very least.

O indeed, i'm not knocking it, i simply think there's been one hell of a gulf in the images i've seen. I know its a bad thing to do, but the only comparison I have to FM4 is GT5 and between the two the autovista mode seems to have the best graphics. However, whenever I see an in game shoot with a track environment around it just doesn't match up to GT5 for me.

All you have to do is compare the gameplay videos, and ask the people here that have played FM3 and FM4. It's a no brainer that this is beyond FM3.

What claims?

This game isn't even out yet and people are continuing to complain.

If you don't like what you see: fine. Go back to the GT5 forums.

GT5 vs. FM4 (or FM3, for that matter) is always a tough one when it comes to graphics. In carefully selected, static shots, GT5 seems clearly superior.

While in motion, it's a tough call. It all depends to how you react to the tearing, the frame-rate drops, the flickering shadows, blocky smoke, ocassional standard car or the less detailed tracks. For me, that's really taking the beauty out of GT5's graphics. The first time I fired it up, I was like 'WTF?!' because all of this stuff.

For others, it might be barely noticible - I don't know, but I guess it's much more subjective between other games.
