The game is already playable for everyone, you have driver aids, input buffers and so on, if you have kinect you don't even have to brake, so having a good physics underneath does not defeat that point. I mean it worked in Rfactor why not here.

If anything it's hardware limitation and development time that limits the realism. And actually PC sim hasn't been moving forward recently, IRacing's new tire model is all over the place and the gap between console and PC sim is getting smaller every day.

Btw Shift 2 have very decent physics, althouh dumbed down a lot in the tire department, the underlying physics feels like it has PC roots. (and I am an avid PC simmer since GTR2002)

The loss of the Bugatti circuit is a huge loss for me. It's a great track and very useful. I'd rather they lost the full Le Sarthe layout to be honest.
I couldn't disagree more.

Wait a minute, I would not trust these words. At the end, T10 will make the game playable for everyone so this will never reach real sim qualities...

What?

Oh...I get what you're saying now: I guess Skid Recovery Force renders GT5 incapable of reaching real sim qualities as well, huh? Of course they want it to be played by everyone, don't be stupid.

Do we all remember how EA advertised NFS Shift 2? The best physics available in racing sim genre?

I don't remember Shift 2 being marketed as such whatsoever. I can however recall it being marketed as "The Most Realistic Racer", and that can be interpreted in several different ways. All of which concerning the way the game was marketed are true.

So T10 can also talk a lot of stuff to get as many preorders as they can get. At the end, if they can´t hold their word, people get dissapointed... And forget all the dissapointment till the next FM5... because again they advertise the game like it is from the mars... Exactly like EA did with Shift 2 and PD did with GT5...

What word didn't they hold up to, exactly? If you expected something they never outright claimed that's no one's fault but your own. Don't blame them because you stuck your head out expecting something no one ever hinted toward. As you can clearly read in the "Under The Hood" segments they're quite open about what's going to be in, what's not going to be in, and why in either scenario.

Alternatively, what didn't SMS keep their word on? Again, if you were expecting something from another developer that was quite open throughout the closing half of it's development cycle that they never outright claimed, that's your fault.

Fortunately Kaz is a perfectionist and PD still works on GT5..

Is that why the game still doesn't have leaderboards, post-race saves, the R8 5.2 still has a V8 in the back, or why the artifacts are still as present on Route 7 as they were on day one?

Better still I'll give you a real easy one: what about the features on the box that still aren't in the game -- perfectionist, right?

It seems that some tracks and content will be removed from FM apparently:

Source

-Amalfi
-New York

And some of it the removed content will be DLC, they are following a very EA-ish model, quite an irony I guess.

Which removed content will be DLC?

90+ new cars seems pretty decent to me. As someone said, that's a 25% increase and honestly, what else can we expect in 2 years? It's not like the game was going to be made from scratch and I expected the majority of cars to be carried over. The good thing about not having Porsche is that at least we get Ruf (which was not present in FM3) along with a good dose of new cars. Not sure if the 90+ new cars includes or excludes the LCE and pre-orders?
I'm pretty sure that it doesn't include DLC.

I enjoyed the Bugatti layout in C-A Class when doing touring car style events, but also enjoyed the traditional layouts for A-R1..

I think it's a little sad to lose Bugatti, but clearly time/resource/money/whatever has to have a cut off point, they probably had to refresh all the current tracks to work with the new lighting engine, and they just ran out of time, so some had to go.

I would say that Rally Di Positano (I assume that's Amalfi long) isn't a circuit I enjoyed, I think graphically it often looked a bit low-rent in places, and it didn't have much 'flow' to it which is the appeal of FK and the Nordschliefe.. If they've had enough time to refresh the short Amalfi track, which I enjoyed in the lower classes, I can live with that!

I will also miss the Bugatti circuit. Had MANY really fun races there. I dont care muich for longer versions. I also liked the Sidewinder tracks. Shame to see those go as well.

I dont mean to sound negative because the positives sure as heck outweight the negatives. I just had my hopes up a little higher than I should have. Almost all my requests have been met besides weather and night racing. So overall I am 99.9% very very happy and excited for Forza 4. But I have to admit the lack of weather and night racing does kill me a little inside. At least we can change the time of day so thats nice for sure.

They are not removing Amalfi. Though they are moving the fantasy Sidewinder track.

Link?

And there he is back, spreading false information without proofs. You really are some very destructive person arent you?

Only the Top Gear Car Soccer Field and the Benchmark Tracks will be dlc, but on day one. Nothing else have been anounced.

AUP, it said something about this, I wish I could remember.

Couldnt agree with everything you said more. 👍

It also says you will not post false information. Is there something wrong with you? Mentally?

I agree they did a pretty dang good job with Shift 2 IF you use the inside car view. Any other view never felt right at all. Especially with drifting. Their drifting physics are still terrible in Shift 2. But thats another subject.

I said in my previous post that it is still not true and I know the source. There is no single word about your assumption. Only Top Gear Soccer Field and Benchmark will be DLC on day one. The tracks you talked about wasnt touched up entirely, from what Turn 10 said.

DLC on pack 1, I wouldn't be surprised if it is the update version of Amalfi, which could also be include in the November pack.

No.

Do you mean this?

There will be two environments available for DLC on Day 1. Every new copy of FM4 will include a code to download these environments for free: Top Gear Soccer field and Benchmark Test track.

It's free, what's your point?

Lack of weather doesn't really bother me much. Too me it's implementation can be anywhere from cute but useless novelty to well thought out addition as can be evidenced with games like GT5, Race Pro and F1 2010.

Night I can honestly say I really didn't think that was going to make the cut. Would have been nice if they at least did the LeMans track and the 24 Hour Ring for transitioning night.

Not that one, T10 always plans 3 month DLC packages, the environments they didn't manage to update correctly will be launch as DLC, probably.

Then say it initially that it is your assumption. We are not here for hate each other. "A strong assumption is always better than a solid proof."

I still don't get your point. They updated all they could in the time available but still give us the option to purchase the updated versions of other tracks that they didn't have time to update at a later date.

Interesting that you now use the word probably. You seemed so certain before.

So in the end we get Forza 3 1/4
+90 cars, tracks cutted, no porsche, no weather, no night...
But they advertised the game like it is from another planet...

At least they tell the people about the facts. If FM4 has only better physics, I don´t know if it is worth buying it... (Anyway I do :) )

But real fans are never dissapointed right :) So nightracing? who cares? No Porsche? Pff who needs them? Bugatti track cutted? Damn we got the alps... No rain? Pff I hate rain and love the sun... Only 25 cars in Autovista? More than enough... No Pit crew? I don´t need to change tires...

You guys need to be more consistent in trolling. Forza 4 is now Forza 3.25 and if Forza 3 was Forza 2.5, and Forza 2 was Forza 1.7... What do you guys think GT4 and GT5 was? Full fledged new releases right? :dunce:

T10's advertising and PR promo is far better than PD's. They aren't hyping it to be something it's not. They are just hyping the game up. Just like FM3 was tagged 'definitive' as PR lingo, the GT only fans went crazy over this arrogance yet GT's been using 'the standard' for quite some time now. Take it for what it is, a company trying to sell a game to the masses.
I'm still disappointed in the lack of Porsches but that was out of their hands. If it comes via DLC I'll be day1 buyer of every pack that includes Porsches.

I'm fine with Bugatti track being cut but I'd personally have wanted it in. Maybe it'll come later via DLC or something. The popularity of Le Mans is the main Circuit de la Sarthe where the world famous 24hr race is on, and that only uses a small portion of the Bugatti circuit. I've mentioned the 25 cars in AV is a big fail in my book. That's at launch so hopefully we'll get a nice surprise with a patch/update.

There is a very strong difference between assumptions and facts, I didn't point anything as factual, if is taken a factual then is each individual problem.

Just as the many things that are said about FM4.

Akira do you own Forza3?

Your gonna be a lot of fun round here when it releases I bet.

Sounds like you were fairly certain to me.

Especially when someone tries to pass one off as the other ;)

I am not a native English speaker, but when I have read your initial post, even Steven Hawkins could not see an assumption in this. That is an sad excuse.

You have come close enough for me to be concened about and I am asking (in a polite but firm manner) that you make it clearer in future what you are posting as fact (and source it) and what is assumption, speculation or opinion.

It takes a few extra seconds to clarify posts and saves a lot of arguing.

T10 are not members here, so I care very little for how they put things in that regard. Members of GT Planet however are quite a different matter.......

Scaff

Actually yes, the thing is that I actually played until the class R1 World Championship, and the Endurance race on Nurburgring with the prototypes, couldn't care less about the middle ground races from the second block(event list), which I personally believe they were grinding.

I actually play FM2 more recently.

Sounds like you were fairly certain to me.

Especially when someone tries to pass one off as the other ;)

Individual conception my friend :D .
