I just modded my savegame, So I was wondering if...

Spongey you minx.

In answer to your question I'm not sure. Maybe everyone has a clean slate again and sees the light.

If you were banned in Forza motorsport 3 will you be banned in Forza Motorsport 4 also?

No. Not unless you do something against the rules and are all "Look at me bidding millions of millions of credits in the auction house on day one". Then you're good.

Same as FM2 to 3, you start a clean bill of health.

It's probably against the EULA to bar someone from a new piece of software if starting from scratch.

Oh okay.

Is it alright if I play online, after I have modded my save to add 3 million credits?

Other then that I did nothing. Nor do I plan on doing anything else...

This will sound sad, But all I did this for was to upgrade more of my cars to A class for the "Tag Virus" multiplayer game... :p

Why would you want to mod a new game? The prize credits aren't as linear as they were in FM3.

At least going by T10's word.

No, no you missed what I said.

I just modded my FM3 savegame.
I added about 3,000,000 credits to upgrade more of my cars to A-Class for Tag Virus games.
I was wondering if I would be okay to play online, and if I end up banned in FM3, will I be banned from FM4 online as well.

Do it and let us know.

Ta.

Cheating is bad.

That being said, I doubt a FM3 ban would carry over to FM4.

Ah. Well, as I said earlier then...you'll be good to go.

When I heard about the Forza 3 bans it didn't matter if you bought anything from the auction house. The game tracks and reports every purchase, cars, parts, tunes, anything, even non-online purchases, and reports them. If it sees you doing something you shouldn't be, it flags your profile for someone to check out.

I'm pretty sure if you instantly give yourself millions, the game will flag it, and you'll eventually be banned just for signing online with that many credits without completing enough events. You wouldn't even need to join a race first.

At least, that's what I remember from way back when Forza 3 was still having problems.

I thought I read somewhere back when FM4 was first announced that it would but I could be mistaken. I think its a lifetime ban for certain things.

Update. I was wrong apparently. Spongey found the correct answer 2 posts down.

Not to my recollection. Another member has to flag you. Going into one of the auctions (especially for Unicorns) is where no one really has to report you as I believe whomever the T10 member is watches over it.

If it does work like that, then it certainly cuts out the middle man but a wee bit obtrusive; I really don't need my game keeping tabs on me.

Alright, I think I might have been mistaken. I think it only flagged people using the money glitch. I remember if you glitched the game it would report it, and you'd be able to buy a Fiesta from T10 to return any glitched credits, and if you didn't do that by a certain amount of time you would be hit with a ban. I have no idea if that system also detected people who used mods to get the credits, though.

I think they SHOULD ban people for life. Maybe if they've cheated in FM1, 2 and 3...or how badly they cheat. I mean...if you have 100,000,000 credits at the start of the game, you're obviously cheating. But, I think repeat offenders at least should be banned from all Forza games. I know that's how it works with stuff like pornographic materials on your cars (if raced online). You'll get banned for a day, then a month or something, and if you keep doing it, you'll get banned from XBL. It would lessen the number of cheaters as time went on. Granted, they can't ban you if they change consoles, but...I don't know. It's just my opinion.

..I've only done it once, And it wasn't even close to the amount of money some other people do.

Mhh if I buy a new game, I want to start from scratch... But I know, there are people who wants it the other way...

I hope there will be an option to choose if you have FM3...

And cut into their hardware sales, game sales, Xbox Life fees and cause a huge uproar? :odd:
Let's not cut out his entire post. TBH, he did have a point about repeat offenders who have cheated throughout the series & how they should probably be banned for life. Then again, if they've cheated from FM1-3, they'll probably cheat again.

Hmm, wait, if you have like 600 millions on your fm3 account, you cant bring some of that money to fm4? Anyways, im not saying that i mod savegames, but its easy with right tools ;)

No. I think in FM4, the most you'll get from FM3 is a couple of cars depending on your career in FM3.

You can't transfer money. You get money depending on your garage value.

Also, I've heard FM4 will not transfer any credits to you if you have over a set value (Im guessing 500 million because you can only get that by staying up 24/7, or modding)

Okay good, then ill spend some useless cash on some 250 gtos ;)

And then they'll get banned. But you can't punish someone for an offense he has not yet committed.

You have the option to import your FM3 profile or not after the end of the FM4 introduction race.

You are only gifted credits based on your career level.

But, if they've modded the other games in the series, chances are they're going to do it again, despite the bans already issued on them. I would ban them for life after the third offense, and especially if they mod the new game in the series. It's not fair to ban someone who cheated once or twice. But, if they're modding EVERY game they have and obtaining games through illegal methods, then, they shouldn't be allowed to play online. And it has happened. MS and Sony have both received lawsuits for bricking systems of extreme repeat offenders.

And, if someone's only modding a single series, like Forza Motorsport, why not ban them for the rest of the series. Or at least until the next console comes out. It's like in real racing if someone keeps breaking the rules, eventually, they're gonna get kicked out of the league.

I hope we get some more car reveals tomorrow and they come thick and fast. It's been a bit barren of late.

Some news on a demo would be great, or reveals of cars new to the game. I've got a feeling we'll get some big news this week.

You're acting like someone stole the holy grail...

Anyways, it's a paid service and they can hardly ban people just like that for a lifetime. Since we have been talking about cheating, not pirating games, that (and strictly sticking to that) means that they're likely to lose sales - because even a cheater buys the game. Same goes for the fees for using XBL.

Plus, stuff like bricking a console or lifetime bans might be possible, but it surely doesn't help a company's reputation, especially not if we're talking about stuff like adding credits to your Forza account.

If you were in the shoes of Turn 10, would you rather:
a) Ban someone for life after cheating in FM1, FM2 and FM3 and be rid of him, or
b) ban him in FM1, FM2, FM3 and FM4 individually but still sell a copy of FM4 to him?

I'm as opposed to cheating as the next guy (I never even participated in the birthday gift car glitch thing in GT5), but some folks seem to consider cheating in a video game to be something really worth making a huge fuss over.

I admit, i got major $$ in forza 3 by doing stuff, so what? Did that affect other players or turn 10, well no...it only made me play the game more by buying more cars and more tuning parts etc. Same with gt5, i got credits thru rubberband glitching etc.
