Maybe they just want to show off their modelling of the track with and without spectators. The shots with the track empty do look great and the ones with fans look like excitement might be in store.

Why opposite? That would be more objects for the 360 to render. I figure to get more cars means less spectators? Less objects? Again, its just a guess. It will really surprise me to have all the spectators and 16 cars on the track.
I am sure there is a reason.
Or maybe the less crashes that happen, the more empty the stands get. :lol:

I didn't think of it like that. I was thinking more in real world terms I guess. More action, more spectators.

That is a pretty cool idea. I am sure we will find out more with the 3rd under the hood installment....whenever that comes.
 
I've seen it speculated that it might be hotlaps are empty as I doubt many would turn up to a track to watch one lucky beggar have the track to himself and they have crowds for actual races.
 
I think having no/extremely few spectators when hotlapping would be cool. Have more people around in the infield as if you had a team there for testing, maybe have other cars parked in the paddocks and infield.
