If we use the N24 track the field will spread out massively.

Why would the field spread out more than usual? Actually, it would be harder in a reverse grid race to get back to the front cleanly, so, chances are that the field in those races will be closer together for a longer period of time.

Please don't use N24, it will be awful for racing. People can't pass cleanly on a regular track, let alone one where going side by side requires two gentlemanly drivers.

Unfortunately, it is true that most people do not know when to brake or lift, even if the whole track in front of them is full with opponent's cars. Would be a shame to just give up on it though. Every once in a while an attempt could be made… (maybe under severe threats of harsh penalties for doing something stupid :p)

Exactly, spread out field = cleaner race. It won't be the constant 2x2 bull:censored:fest ToCA's used to.

Why not make this the non-championship event, instead of Bathurst?

Simple. Attempt any 🤬 moves you get a harsher penalty.

For me the issue is not going to be about passing cleanly, it is going to be about people blocking cleanly - it's not going to happen. Doesn't take much to block a pass round Nurburgring.

It's ToCA, jam it up the inside anyway! 👍

I find this ironic considering vast majority of you top 12 regulars are not going to jam it up the inside.

EDIT: Complaints about ToCA and people divebombing and 2x2 racing, followed by complaints about a track which spreads out. No pleasing you lot is there

Scrambled much? :p

Genuinely though, GP/F will provide good racing, so will the N24. Just in different ways.

I'd rather have GP/F. Nurb Nord will be a bigger crashfest than regular because no one will know the track

The first race will be a clean and cool race. After that, get ready for much anger and such lamp.

In that case, let's do the Nordschleife and Sierra.

Ok, so what we have known for ToCA13:

~Teams of two confirmed. If you try one of the multi car squads you are going nowhere (ahem.... you know who you are!)

~A 9 week calendar, longest one since ToCA season 5 I think, with 27 points scoring races, 24 counting for final tally, worst weekend dropped.

~Stewarding tweak - @snowgt @Panoz are remaining Stewards (unless things have changed), and @LancerEvo7 will be joining them.

~6 Manufacturer slots, with 9 cars being tested for the season ahead.

~👍

~maybe 👍 (depends on the track selection though)

~👍 no problems with these guys although I believe you should make the whole stewarding process more transparent (post incident reports along with tables, even those you lot decide that don't need any further action taken)

That sounds good in theory, but to publish the whole reasoning behind each and every decision will bring endless discussions about it. Everyone will suddenly be a steward or at least have an opinion about it. I guess that is exactly the point of selecting a couple of stewards, because otherwise you will never reach a decision. It's not democratic, but it's not supposed to be.

I also think that not all reports should be published, especially, if no action is being taken. Everyone should have the opportunity to bring a situation to the steward's attention, without necessarily accusing anyone of anything. To avoid bad blood, it probably is better to keep such inquiries under wraps, especially, if they don't lead to anything. If an inquiry leads to a clarification about rules or something similar that all drivers need to be made aware of, then it will be published anyway.

I did propose a standardized type of incident report at the beginning of the season (mostly because it makes it easier to find the incidents in question), but it hasn't really caught on yet.

That standardised template will be implemented next season

Any chance of an extra drop score, so drop 2 worst events? If we have 9 weeks, turning up to 8 is quite an ask for me.

In regards to having N24 in the calendar or not, I don't really care which track we get.

Good that we have a longer season 👍

When are we even planning to start. I'm ready for an off season

Bumping this to see people's opinions regarding Nurb 24/Nord...

Not sure why it would have to be non-championship. What would that change?
