FT-1 = LFA in Toyota clothing?

Lexus and Toyota are to each other as Ford and Lincoln. Lexus vehicles have traditionally been rebadged/reskinned versions of Toyota cars. The IS300 in the states was the Toyota Altezza in Japan, the SC300 was a Toyota Soarer elsewhere, the ES300 was a Camry under the skin, etc.

That said, the LF-A and the FT-1 do not seem to share any real commonality. I don't doubt that Toyota used lessons learned from the LF-A in making the FT-1, but to infer that that makes them the same car would be like saying the Ford F-150 is based on the Model T. Time marches forward, progress progresses, and later car developments typically build upon the lessons learned from earlier ones.

auto week quoted from the ft1 design vid, 14 min one i think.
The long hood is meant to look like the supra/2000gt cars that had i6s yes, they wanted that look.
You gotta help me with the vid. I see nothing on autoweek's site about price or engine.
I only know of the 9min Calty, but that one doesn't have anything about price/engine.
Help me out here.

@sparkytooth, understeer vs. Oversteer is a personal choice. I even tend to think that the V8 Supercar understeers.
I tend to think FF cars understeer massively. The LFA however, is an extremely twitchy car when pushed hard, not as much as GT5's 12C but a tad bit unpredictable in it's own right. Never had understeer problems tracking over 5 of my stock ones.

The LFA was in development for an extremely long time. I'm sure they used a lot of information from that process to design the all new ft-1 but I'd say the ft-1 is an evolution of the lfa not the same.

I like the silly beige mobiles. Grassroots Motorsports did a beige Camry build...

Did you see the result of that though? They blew 2 engines due to oil starvation issues inherent to the camry and abandoned the project concluding the camry can't be used in motorsports due to massive reliability problems under those conditions.

Apologize for double post. This is difficult from a phone.
