Lexus is NOT Japanese, it's American. But who knows, maybe the car was designed by a German?

It has the Japanese symbol in the dealership. Either way though, throw us a bone PD. Give us at least 1 premium German GT!

Counter is right. Lexus is american just like Acura, their motors and trans are still Japanese but the body styling is american. Acura is 80% made in Canada and the other 20% is from Japan and i'm pretty sure Lexus is similar. in all aspects it's all the same like in japan they have the honda accord and here it's the acura TSX (at least in the euro market). it's hard to explain how it all works.

sorry for going off topic

Why is th only premium car that can drive the extreme German GT series in actuality Japanese?

Nissan might be going to DTM in 2012 and they're not German and Alfa (Italy) used to be there it's just the races that are in Germany (well most of them at least) ,it's like the BTCC which has Honda ,Chevrolet ,Ford etc not just Rover because they race in Britain.

You sure about that?

Lexus is the luxury division of Toyota, as is Acura for Honda.

I was dumbfounded when I saw this too. If you read the description in the dealership it says something about it being a concept for an actual DTM car but was never used in the series. Seems a shame that it was never used as it is one of the best cars I've driven in the game. But it isn't the only non-german car that can be used in that race, when I did it there was an Alfa-Romeo competing as well.

And there is no e30 m3, why? And there are no modern (post 2002) dtm cars. This series is so much fun, why did they not make it more in deapth. So many questions. Stupid Japanese cars hogging disk space.

Vauxhall is not German either.

Yes but Acura is a America only division so it is seen as American, like Holden is seen as Australian even though it is owned by GM.

Lexus however is much more of a world brand with models even being sold in Japan since 2006, though it did begin in American first IIRC. I personally don't class Lexus as American but GT does (even though much of these cars are done but Lexus Europe divisions) except for the ISF Racing concept which is "german" in GT5 but thats probably just a stretch of the rules so we can use it in the DTM race which it was based after.

As far as I know, Acura only exists in NORTH AMERICA (it's not "America-only", since they're sold in Canada and Mexico as well); elsewhere, they're just called "Honda" cars. Reason being, back in '86, it was thought that Americans would balk at the idea of a $25,000 Honda. Similarly, Lexus began as Toyota's luxury American brand (because who would buy a $30,000 Toyota, right?); difference being, Lexus is now sold pretty much everywhere, while Acura remains only in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

Remove Mexico and insert Hong Kong and you have Acura's locations.

There are 3 total luxury brands from Japan (Acura, Infiniti and Lexus) and out of the 3 Acura has the least selling locations. Infiniti just expanded to Europe 3 years ago so with only 3 locations Acura is the most scarce.

My Lexus says made in Japan in the door sill.

Tell the Japanese customers the LFA is not available in their country...

DTM is just a Championship in Germany. Not a German only race. Any manufacture can enter a car as long as it meets all the DTM specs.

That is all.

I'm glad someone pointed that out. I do agree that it's a shame there are no premium German makes available. On the other hand, PD could have called the segment something other than DTM and simply created an "all German" championship. Not all the makes that can be used in the Italian, French, Japanese and American series are premium, anyway.

I just said "America" because I wasn't 100% sure about south America, Canada and Mexico is in the "Americas" also. When I said "America" I wasn't pin pointing USA otherwise I would have said so.

Because prior to 2006 Lexii were rebranded toyotas, The Japanese got mostly the exact same models but with toyota branding (Soarer rather than SC, Atezza than IS etc). Now cars like the ISxxx is unique to lexus and they're sold in Japan as Lexus. Not sure where they are made now though.

DTM doesn't mean its only made for German cars...if you make car for the series you can compete in it. Just like why an Alfa(Italian) is on the eligible list. And why Toyota is in NASCAR....

The IS-F Racing Concept(if you read the description) was originally made by Toyota with intent to race in DTM, but they ultimately decided not to..
