Good settings when using DS4 pad and sticks

At the moment i am using a ds4. Using tcs 2/counter assistance weak/ asm on/ auto gears/ abs default/ steering sensitivity 3.
Dr:b Sr:s

Trying without asm on. Problem is that now its harder to steer as it controls worse than the titanic and/or the iceberg it hit (more steers like the iceberg imo).

Anyway back on track. Any ideas on steering sensitivity and anything else i can do. Currently happy with tcs/abs/counter and gears (improving without, but takes time).

Motion steering
TCS 0
CSA sometimes
ASM off
Manual trans
ABS default
Steering sensitivity 7

I wouldnt use ASM its just too much of a handicap and you dont get the feel of the car.
TCS is something that took me months to be able to drive without. Definitely good fail safe but if you want to be competitive in the higher ranks you gotta lose it at somepoint.
CSA is not bad I like it for RWD GR3
Manual is a must, i dont know how people are fast without it. Gives you so much more control of the car.
Never tried changing ABS
Sensitivity of 7 seems to work best for me for quick steering inputs

At the moment the problem i have is without asm, i have steeing issues. Maybe turning up sensitivity works. Evertthing else can wait. Rome wasnt built in a day.

It'll probably just feel weird at first and take some time to get used to like any other change. If you have difficulty steering with the sticks like I did you might as well switch to motion steering. It will also feel wierd at first but you will get the hang of it faster than you think. It's so much more natural than the sticks

After getting a ps1 in 1998, using sticks for me is the most natural thing for me. I should give motion control a go and learn to master it to see if there os a benefit for me.

I was the same way. I had always used sticks and I looked right past the motion controls when i booted the game up the first time. I thought it was just a gimmick. I had a lot of trouble getting gold in circuit experience on Mount Panorama though, that downhill section was brutal. Then I read some threads on :gtpflag: and gave it a shot. Got the gold within 45min. It smooths out the steering significantly and helps avoid over corrections that lead to spin outs. the distance to full lock is longer than the sticks offer and I found that my hands always naturally tried to move with the curves (kinda like when you lean sideways against a non existent centripetal force haha)

I would assume that the folks running no TCS are using L1/L2 and R1/R2 for throttle, brakes and shift etc. but I could be wrong. Maybe L3/R3 combo?
I believe this would allow a more linear throttle application to aid in not melting the tires off on corner exit.
I am a long time pad puncher/directional button guy and I am finding it hard to convert to the other buttons. Tried running with no TCS but the pad buttons feel more like on off buttons so my settings are...

TCS 2
CSA off
ASM off
Manual trans
ABS default
Steering sensitivity 5

Ah, motion control. Apparently I also overlooked it

Getting used to ASM will ruin you. Its going to slow you down sooooooooo much.

Youre right, its getting round the chronic understeer it gives me that is slowing me down even more. Finding the right solution is the key.

TCS 0
CSA off
ASM off
Manual transmission
ABS default
Steering sensitivity max
Racing line off
Driving markers off
Brake cones off
Brake warning off

It’s very hard. And i mean very, but I did it and im using the DS4. Currently averaging about 2 seconds from the 1st place on lap times.

I'd suggest first taking CSA and ASM off, then use the manual tranny and then take TCS off. All while slowly increasing the sensitivity. Also if you use the last four that i said, turn them all off except the braking cones.

I find the study in front of tv and ps4 is quite ok but each to their own.j:D

Seriously steering sense maximum.rest off. Auto. Motion steering :gtpflag:
Edit: abs default.

I see everybody is using ABS Default. I use it on weak because it feels like i can feel more with that setting. Is default faster? It feels like i can trail brake better on weak.

I use TCS 2 for all RWD except 86 and Genesis
ABS default
CSA weak (RWD only)
ASM off
L2/R2 and left stick

Does controller sensitivity up help? I thought it would just make the car twitchy?

@meck_rb7 I find ABS weak causes braking to be unpredictable

I'll try it out when i got time!

The sensitivity up on 7 for me makes the car doing what i want. It just feel more direct.

Whatever works for you. Play around with both and see what makes you faster

i use asm off and csa on strong. tcs 0-2 depending on car. you can potentially set top 10 times with those settings if you really want but youll probably be disappointed because they arent much different to any other controller settings

I’ve been using,
Manual Trans
ABS default
Steering Sensitivity 0
TCS 0
ASM off
CSA off (except on the GR3 Ferrari I use Strong)

I’ll have to try messing with higher steering sensitivity.

You guys are making me wanna mess with my settings....

I think it depends on the driver and your style to a certain point. I use...

Tcs 0-2 as needed
Abs weak
Auto trans, i just cant handel manual in games
Sensitivity whatever default is
Everything else off

TCS 0
CSA off
ASM off
Manual trans
ABS default
Steering sensitivity default

Same here, with sensitivity set to 5

I am just not sure about ABS, I set it on just one level above 0, is this the default?

EDIT: I think is ABS weak, need to check.

By the way, this is something I have in mind since a while ago...do you think that vibration with DS4 is far too shallow and not well implemented?
I tried few weeks ago Forza7, and I would not talk about the game itself, but playing it with the Xone controller gives much more feeling and input than DS4 with GTS.
There is vibration even to the triggers and is very well implemented in the sense that you can feel the car kicking while braking or accelerating too hard.
For anyone that didn’t try yet, give a try. You will see how much more realistic feels the driving, and then ask yourself why the monkeys in Sony did not think about implementing something like this.

Hey guys yall don't mess with the force feed back and that other one under advanced settings
to me I like having it at 7,5 and 10 I know it's a controller but I feel like it makes a difference

All assists off except ABS, steering sensitivity 3. Last night I managed 1.44.7 on dragon trail with Gr.4. This is my first racing game with DS4 and all is about practice, I could say.
Sorry for my bad English.
