Question...if the top guys are lapping the slower ones multiple times per race now, wouldnt it be much worse with the top guys in a faster class of car? I just see more potential for accidents that way. Especially with closing speeds being that much greater.

Would it be better to put the lower class in faster cars or would that create a worse set of problems?

Oh yes give the 16 year olds a Ferrari. Lol!

Nah but really I think most skill progressions usually scale with speed. With great speed comes great responsibility!

Yea i see that side...i just have concerns about unintended race ruining...right now guys like neutty and badguy are lapping the field at least once and some others 2 or 3 times...now add even more of a difference in speed and you are looking at 6 or more possible incidents per backmarker per race...just playing devils advocate

No that's good conversation! And I'm just playing the devils devil advocate :).

I'm just thinking of situations where you have a fast Gr4 driver that is constantly fighting with a slower Gr3 driver. Seems having that constant fight would be more of a recipe than a quick pass.

Maybe a test session where we give each way a try during the open week might help sort things out a bit

We would need ample attendance from both ranks if its to work tho

I say bring it. It's their job to get around the slower car safely. The slow car does need to allow room but no need to stop on track to let them by either.

They way I see it, you can't get good at either if we try to make it where you never experience it. Experience is the only way to get good. Sometimes that means you end up with a ruined race and other times you don't.

Edit: I have never found it a problem to get around a car that was 1 to 2 sec slower ect. It's a lot easier to pass. Just power past them.

I can agree with both of youy guys points. I generally dont have issues passing either, but i also dont do it nearly as often as bg, heri or neutty.

Probably just make it known beforehand for the backmarkers to stay on their line and let the fast bois make the pass when they see fit.

I think it would have to be noted by gr4 that if you are flashed you move, still on the gr3 driver to make the pass but thats what they are there to do. Similar to le mans, you see a faster class you should make way, and the faster class should maintain a clean pass.

I want to apologize ahead of time for there not being any results posted yet. I will be working tonight to get Nick all the data he needs to complete the race result sheets.

After Saturday's race I was too miserable to do it and yesterday my family and I spent the day at my wife's father's.

Again, I would like to apologize for the delay.

Completely agree, as long as backmarkers drive in a predictable manner, most incidents could be avoided. Faster drive is responsible for executing a clean pass.
Having a backmarker randomly move out of the way for the faster driver could be more dangerous than staying on the predictable racing line.

No need to apologize @PApunk924.

Happy Independence Day

"The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by Solomon Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solomnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires, and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more."

Letter to Abigail Adams
