I actually got something's to say about this month's session of questions......
In the back end they'll be using a manufacturers UCD but they'll be under a separate menu in the final game. They are indeed grouped by era and those are 70's to 80's (1970-1989), Early 90's (1990-1994) and Late 90's (1995-1997) anything 1998-1999 will be available in the New Car Dealer, to confirm that means there will be no cars in the new dealer from before 1998.
What does menu mean here? If we go to a certain city/dealer will it be some sort of button/widget that'll appear? It could be placed in the spot the license center used to be now that it's gone, and have the groups be seperate buttons, i unno what to say anymore beyond this :v
As and where possible, GT2 doesn't work like any other game in the series for this. Instead of having specific requirements you exclude cars on, you can only restrict an event to allow up to 32 cars. In events where we have less then that, there's no issues implementing this but if we have more than 32 cars in as per your example K Cup then you can't restrict them otherwise you'll run into issues with restricting cars that should be eligible.
So that's why the only restrictive event was the F1 event! But i'll say another thing, A-Spec still has a rubberbanding/cheating AI problem. Not only the GT40 was carried over, but it even added another cheater to the ring! The Euro League event also at Rome has a Lancia LC2 in it's opponent pool. The event is restricted to 690hp, the LC2 has 702hp, that's 12 horses beyond the limit!!!!
So if I was smart yes I'd be doing this for Beige however here's the issue: with A-Spec I was not a member of the team at all, just before 1.2.1 I was invited in as an advisor but I've never worked on A-Spec before in any capacity. With Beige it's the mod project I'm actively leading and contributed a lot of the ideas for so doing any video similar to the A-Spec one feels odd because of course I'm going to say how fantastic everything is. I'll try and navigate this probably closer to release but whatever I do it'll have to be 100% objective in my mind and I'll let the thoughts of the people seeing it make their own decisions. Unlike a certain other mod creator you won't see me titling my video "the best Gran Turismo mod ever!"
Understandably, if you were to make a video on a mod you personally was the lead of, they were gonna be a bit of bias, either directly or otherwise.
Also, the guy you were talking about when you said "the best Gran Turismo mod ever!", was it
this guy? I mean yes, the mod did sound promising and it made full potential of the game engine, but not everyone is fond of that pride....... i hope that guy dosen't stumble upon what i said, as i fear that it might cause some drama
Well it seems as good of a time as any... License tests are virtually off limits to editing so far as I've been told. You can't change cars (beyond body swaps) or time limits. You can change order and track but that's pretty useless without having the option on those other two so for that reason.
There is no license tests in Beige, speaking personally I like them as a challenge but I hate them from a gameplay perspective as they seem to be there to artificially bolster game time. Removing them has a few advantages: big one is you can't day skip now which should really allow us to balance the UCD for the first few weeks as you can't just cycle to get yourself into some of the quicker affordable UCD cars. The other one being it allows us to remove and replace the cars the game would use for them so there's no conflict there. Maybe when there's a website you'll have to take a written test before you can download the game? But no, there's no licenses in the game. Sure that's leaving a mixture of sad people, "how can it be Gran Turismo without licenses!?" people and the me's of the world who breathe a sigh of relief they'll never have to stop a Skyline from 1000m's in Beige Edition.
I'm both sad and relieved at the same time. On one hand, although i did rush the tests and they only took me hours and half-hours (not trying to get gold), i've sometimes felt that they were a hassle to do and only delayed the fun stuff for me......
On the other, i would've missed doing them because they were pretty much a ritual in any GT playthrough, it's like eating Oreos. It'll still taste good but it just felt that something is missing.
The written test thing would actually be very funny though. I can imagine the questions being pretty mature and adult themed, since those are probably the margin that would be interested in this type of mod (even though i'm quite young and i do enjoy it, still, most youngsters only cared about bajillion horsepower Supras). A website for a GT mod isn't unheard of, as Spec-II for GT4 also did had a website with mod details, changelogs, and FAQs. I personally would've liked to see some theming, maybe late 90's - early '00s Geocities page
