[Gran Turismo 5 @ E3 2010] (SEE POST 1!: New Vids, Pics, Interviews!)

I will have to say that Fizzle 1 was a pretty wretched game. Just getting started with it, and being the first game to get me to buy an XBox, I was pretty angry with it. I forced myself to tough it out and finally came to terms with it, but the bot AI was horrible, and having no FFB made racing the Porsches a major PITA. Well, generally it was a PITA. I retried it last year when my bro wanted some help with a certain part, and it was deja vu all over again as to why I hated it from the start. And don't get me started on PGR. Anyhow...

I'm hopeful that GT5 will have ALL the tracks from the past games. I want to revisit Grindelwald and Red Rock Valley without having to dig up GT2 and my copy of Bleemcast. Seeing them in HD would be such a thrill, and exploring them with all these sports cars with the new physics... heaven.

I do want to revisit GT2 and 3 at some point, and with this being a holiday weekend in the States, if I don't get wrapped up in composing and writing... maybe...

Funny you mention all that GT2 stuff because just before I came on here I was 'Googling' Gran Turismo 2 Screens and also a bit of 'YouTubing' of previous Gran Turismo games. I too would love to see Red Rock Valley return. I guess this really shows alot of people are getting really desperate for this (Gran Turismo 5) game. But this year is the big year.. it will happen this year. I know PD and SCE say "soon" but, I think this time they really mean that in a more realistic way.

You mean you "hope" this time they really mean that?! I certainly hope so, but I don't consider the word soon appropriate if the game is going to hit the shelves Nov/Dec. Fingers crossed then!
 
All I know is I'm close to broke, unemployed, no income (at the moment) coming in and I would be shocked if GT5 was announced at E3 and further upset if it wad released before Fall, when I might not be able to get a PS3 in order to play it.

We shall see.

I hope Career mode is something like a Racing Career. But how can you race without numbers on the doors, what is this track day only with more cars - :)

Also I hope there are clan/racing teams with common colors and such.

This game is the benchmark that all other racing games are measured too, only the PC Racing zealots believe its not worth comparing too.

I also hope that have more classic circuits like Spa, Road America or even Mosport are in the game.

Sony seem to have LOADS of exciting stuff happening for E3 this year.
Read just yesterday more of this new "Premium" service they will be having alongside the current free service for PSN. Has anyone any clue as to what its going to offer?

- Access to rotating list of Playstation minis and PSone classics (the freebie games previously rumoured?)
- Exclusive in-game DLC
- Playstation Store discounts
- 'First Hour' demos of retail titles - play the first hour for free, then purchase the full game if you wish (PSN games? There ain't many retail games on the PSN store currently...)
- Playstation Protection Plan coverage
- Exclusive access to cross-game chat
- Access to auto/background patching of games

As much as i would love :) to see a closer relationship with GT5 and PS-HOME, especially a car dealership in home! 👍 (Great commercial for Car manufacturer by the way...)

... but the level of details and resolution required by the standard of PD :sick:, HOME would totally crash! :scared:

I've read somewhere it would feature a "simplified" 4-core version of the Cell processor, it would beat almost any normal retail consoles out there. :eek:

But, if that's true, the prices would be ridiculously high, and no one likes expensive portable gaming toys. :grumpy:

I'm also, not quite sure if Sony and IBM reduced the production costs on the Cell processor, so perhaps it is possible.

Of course, it's just a rumour.

By all means go and spend all that money just to enjoy a couple of older racing games. You'll only regret doing so once GT5 lands, but that's OK, it aint' my cash!

Regret? :boggled: Those games he listed, with a few exceptions, are good and enjoyable games. Maybe they don't have the megalomaniac scale of GT5, but so what? At least they've been released. ;) I say, if he's got the cash, he should buy a 360. It ain't a crime to own both consoles, you know. 💡

You people have not played this game & are as bad as the Turn10 forum before FM3 was released, which is a shame, because I actually made the argument that at least GT fans were a bit more sensible & reasonable with their doubts of Forza.

But, this forum has def. proved me wrong.

It's not a few people, it's the majority. Once Forza or NFS is mentioned, there's several posters who come out just to post how amazing GT is.

Or, base on their own personal opinion, how crappy the other games are? Especially NFS. (which should go back to it's roots) Nothing wrong with that.

Difference is, these people aren't forming opinions, esp. when a chunk of them have admitted to never playing any of the games they're criticizing. They're just mindlessly bashing the competition believing GT is the end all, be all of racing games.

In short, many people here need to stop & think before posting b/c a few people here have gone on to make themselves look really bad.

I had a long post to refute your assertions, but decided better about it. I have owned every racing game on both systems (and some I am not proud of, Baja1000...oops) with the exception of PGR4 and Forza3. And that's because 2 of my 360's RROD'd. And I even considered buying a third so I could try Forza3, but instead I started GT4 over.

So as such, MY OPINION was stated with experience. MY EXPERIENCE!! Perhaps GT5 will change my OPINION, but that is my decision to make, as it is my choice.

TRUST ME, this site and posting on forums is not the only place to look bad. I, you and everyone else can do that all on their own, any time.

In closing, you sir need to lighten up. :crazy:

I have played a few racing/car games on PS3 and Xbox 360.

I have played GT since GT2 and always loved to feel of the game. All the other games just don't feel right. But when I played Forza 3 I really liked that game. Its the 2nd best racing game I have played ever. But I would say that because I haven't played that many other racing games. I think GT5P is the best but Forza 3 is a bigger game and has more you can do so at the moment Forza 3 is better.

If I had spare cash I would buy an Xbox 360 and Forza 3 just because GT5 is still awhile away.
 
GT Planet has its fair share of biased members but then what do you expect here.

Let me say that Ive not been a regular posting member here that long and have found GTP members at times less friendly and at times even less helpful towards each other than some other forums. I dont mean that to me but in general to each other. Sure plenty of arguing over silly stuff for the sake of arguing, like the recent posts here regards religion and even now X360 wise cracks. Some of us as gamers actually game for "fun" and dont have to limit ourselves to some kind of brand loyality or fanboy opinion. Its fine having a preference but I hate system bashing thats done for the wrong or silly reasons.

As for FM3 being that bad, rubbish come round to my house and play it with a Fanatec/Buttkicker/Triple screens and tell me its not a fun game.
Does it have issues, is it limited in many ways, yep certainly but it also can be fun and well thats still something I play games for, simple entertainment.
Is it a fantastic racing game sim, no as it doesnt really simulate racing as a motorsport that accurately.

Well I was once hyped for this game. I like getting excited about brewing storms but after this time, newsbreaks aren't fun for me.

I for one wanna make it known that Sony or whoever has pushed the game back this far has lost my interest. I'm not gonna get excited about waiting to learn or hear more.

You know when you see brand new cars and tracks and a release date(hopefully) at E3 that the excitement will be back;)
