[Gran Turismo 5 @ E3 2010] (SEE POST 1!: New Vids, Pics, Interviews!)

GT5 and The Last Guardian are the games I want to see, everything else is just meh...
 
We can probably be excused for a little E3 hypetraining. ;)

I was in awe of Killzone 2 when I got it... until I found out that the game was an ordeal after a certain point. I got to the point that you were taking a bridge, and then subsequently had to knock out a mortar which was protected by ever spawning Helgast. Unfortunately, support from your brain dead team quickly evaporates, leaving you to deal with the growing number of enemies on your own, with very limited firepower. Come on... you took the bridge, and your team can't help out by shooting down on some of the bad guys?? Like WTH! I beat my head against that mission until I finally gave up and haven't touched it in a year. I'm hoping that the gameplay of KZ3 is much more sensible, no more throwing yourself at thousands of bad guys with a rifle and a couple of grenades.

LittleBigPlanet surprised me, so I'm really looking forward to LBP2. Those guys are geniuses! Likewise, I'd enjoy a blurb of what the ModNation guys are coming up with. Supposedly their game engine is being enhanced so that you can make games of ANY genre with it, from shooters to RPGs! Yikes. And definitely, Last Guardian.

Not a big fan of SOCOM or FF anymore, but it seems like they're exciting the fanbase, especially after how many were disappointed over FF13, looks promising.

It's funny how it's human nature to always want something newer, better, faster, shinier, etc. Am I looking forward to GT5? You bet! 👍

Well, I have to admit that I played Prologue a bit too much. And I can't seem to find a race with more than three people in it, usually two. This is why I've been racing offline exclusively. Having a 16 car field with bots that race a lot like the humans I raced online, what's not to love? Except... I overdid it, and then got spoiled by the TT demo. So I end up going back n forth between GT4 for all the cars and tracks, and Prologue for the better physics, huge field of cars and awesome visuals.

Back on topic one of my big hopes for GT5 is a solid online experience that will never make the game boring or stale. Multiplayer is the way forward with gaming in my opinion.

After what happened with a certain other game, I've been keeping Kazunori sensei's words in mind. He said he was particularly proud of what he's been able to create of an online system, and is looking forward to people enjoying it.

This should be interesting. What kind of club and league tools will there be for us to play with? Will there be online racing seasons in different classes? This makes a livery editor almost necessary... will we get one?

18 days to go for some answers kids, just over two and a half weeks!

Oh and Mac, fair enough. But you act like this is some new phenomenon. How long have you been on the nets? :D

Frankly, until E3, I'm not expecting to see anything new and this is reflected in the last pages of this thread, offtopic is commanding supremely. After E3 this thread will spit information by it's ears, until there, there isn't really much to discuss, sadly.
 
I agree but were 68 pages and growing.
 
Speaking of "Man Furismo Jive", I hope they debut the new Kevin Butler ad during the E3 conference, with the end of the ad giving the release date. Which would then be followed by Kaz and his trusty translator coming on to the stage and giving all the juicy details of the games.

Let it be known Scaff that I was not making the discussion as to a way to compare the games. I pointed out that people here have reached & passed the level of ridiculous posts that plagued Turn10's forum when it came to other games.

For those who I know need things to be explained in simple terms.
1) Turn10 forum members were cream of the crop when it came to bashing other racing games.
2) You guys took over.

As for news, I'd expect it to be pretty thin to non-existent until E3. Really, we should be grateful that PD gave us the Nurburgring GT circuit broadside. I thought Kaz might toss us a bone, but that was more like steak! Just remember, it used to be a year off, and now it's just 18 short days.

Well... okay, relatively short. I'm anxious too. :D

The mods were nothing but tools. All the good ones had left before the game was released last year.

Im hoping we perhaps get a new "Dear Playstation" GT5 video before the show with big Kev and 3D glasses on or something fun and witty taking the hand out of FM to an extent like they did the Wii and Natal...
As for GT5 videos didnt we get the trailer on the very opening day of E3 last year?

I seen a link last night to one of Sonys first "3DTV adverts" and well it sucked pretty badly.
It emulates 3D blurred vision on your normal TV and says not to adjust your set but "isnt it time you got a 3DTV"
Seemed a lame way to try and promote 3D...

I hope it's not just some SSR11 type of night racing like in GT1 that will make you fall sleep after 60 laps of night racing endurance. The none stop racing of restless night, what a memory.
 
I think we should start a sweepstake where people can bet on the number of times Mr Latte mentions the terms "3D" and/or "triple screens" and/or "buttkicker" in a day! :lol:

GT5 owns FM3! **** Fm3 has STEERING HELP that you can not turn off even with a wheel ! So why FM3 is called a sim where it helps you? I understand its ok with a PAD to help you with steering, but with a wheel is unnexeptible!

I hope that's not the same NoxNoctis as visits here.....

Speaking of 3DTV I just demoed Samsungs 63" Plasma this week.


As for playing the game well I dont think I will be the only person on GTP that has any interest in 3D.
At least I dont use a crummy pad or find a wheel "too much work" but instead want to experience the game at its best.

To be honest, this bashing of Forza is getting a bit old now. Turn 10 made a racing game, and you either take it for what it is or leave it on the shelf. They did not develop the game for one particular individual, so if you disagree with their approach, leave it alone and let everybody else enjoy it. So it has steering assist, even with a wheel. So what? I don't own an Xbox 360, but I've played enough of the game to know that the it's a whole lot of fun - an aspect of gaming people seem to ignore these days.
 
Yup, it's fun. Now about E3... holy cow it's getting close. Just a couple weeks ago I felt it was never gonna get here.
 
I personally can't wait for June 8th, as I'll get the Big Boss PSP bundle, and then E3 will be here in no time.

Do any of you think we will get a full on Special Edition and maybe like FM3 Special Edition a keyring or some GT branded item. Perhaps even a special branded GT PS3 console?

Id love to see a new "Making Of" included on a Blu Ray with the game showing what they got upto for the past 5 years.

A Making Of would be enough for me. I'm betting it would be more than interesting.
