Because this is GT. The logical thing to do is usually the only thing not happening :P

Eurogamer interview with Sonys Ray Maguire.

Interview covers E3 / 3DTV / GT5
Some good questions and interesting answers.

The main thing to pull from this interview:

Eurogamer: Is the time it's taken to include the 3D element to blame for the game's delayed release?

Ray Maguire: No. The delay - if there is a delay, because I think Kazunori would say it's ready when it's ready - is down to the fact he's a perfectionist. He wants the very best for it. There needs to be a step-change and there is a step-change. But, you know, more of that at E3.

"is down to the fact that he's a perfectionist" = Sony cop-out.

Can someone define: step-change???? :dunce:

"We made dat tripleD in da GT5 to make it even more pwnsom3!"

This is how I would "translate" it.
No, it means a new step forward for the industry standard, like what they made with the BD drive, or with the CD drive in the PS1.

step change

Definition:

significant change: a change that makes a significant difference in the size or value of something or the way in which something is done

:)

step change (two words) = yes, paradigm shift/quantum leap, etc.......got it; knew that.

step-change (hyphenated) = insert witty sarcastic metaphor of something pertaining to third marriage.

Damage and online already are going to be (Step Changes) :)

Add customization/livery editor and you're now climbing stairs in single bounds.

Now, take into account that we'll be able to customize nearly 1,000 vehicles. That's a whole other "story". Pun intended.

Weather makes the game incredible (if it's in). Shoot, GT5 is like taking an elevator. Screw climbing stairs!

I suppose they're all step changes for the GT series, but so far, the last thing that GT offered that was unique among racing games was... Photo Mode. Er, and maybe B-Spec Bob, come to think of it.

I dont think weather is in just a feeling I have as it would take an serious amount of work particulary with so many tracks in this game.

The latest "Ring" videos which showed the revised graphics had no weather/temp icon that I could see.

E3 could bring lots of ooohhhhhs, aggghhhhs, wooooows but also some darns, ummmmmms and dohs.

The Time Is Nigh!

I added the exclusive pre-E3 video to the main page. But I am making a separate space for the OFFICIAL video.

The two probably won't be comparable:). PD, bring it, baby.

After looking at the Spike TV Trailer, I've spotted some interesting things:

-The Nascar footage shows the current Sprint Cup cars, perhaps indicating we'll be able to race the 2010 cars (still with the wing though but that could change). If you look closely, the chevys no longer sport the "IMPALA SS" logos from the last three years and instead sport the 2010"Impala" logo. Its also obvious to see the 2010 paint schemes have been added, which include the #14 Swagger car, the 2010 #48 Lowes car and the 2010 #88 AMP Energy car.

-The first part of footage showing Rome appears to be a replay and seems to show some slight banking to the turn around the collasium, which to my memory wasn't there in GT3.

- The footage with the WRC cars at Tuscany appears to show both the dirt and road surface, which possibly indicates a course that'll utilize both (maybe different stages?).

- Not much shown of Mydrid other then the same downhill left-right chicane.

Anyone want to start doing some video disecting with me? :D

Which part is Madrid?

Thanks for the pics Scope. 👍

Thank god they showed this bad trailer on spike. The music choice was awful and there were a lot of old scenes. At least they can blow us away this e3. PD, leave this rap thing and put the Moon over the castle in the next trailer

Hey, no problem. 👍

By the way, what track is this?

ARDA_TIRMAS
definitely Rome

That would be Madrid actually. Rome does not have that downhill left-right chicane.

As I stated, the Downhill Left-Right chicane. For reffence, the part with the Super GT cars coming down the hill.
