Nothing about that looks realistic. They literally put that giant wing on the superbird to make it more stable at high speed and yet somehow it generates no rear downforce in GT7

It’s a bit silly for me at the moment. Letting the AI deal with it.

As for race set up at Daytona. The Boss 429 and Mach 1 are strong. Beefed up the power of the Coronets with Superchargers and added an SC to the Camaro. Much more competitive, but it’s funny how thos engines still can’t match the torque of the 429 and Superbird.
Anyway, its a fine line with car placing. If I put the two Mach 1s in 18th & 19th, they hang back there with no pace. Start them in the top 10 and they’re trying to win. The Super Bees are still holding up the field. Bumped the power up and weight to match the Superbird, but still PP 50 less than the Superbird.

Camaro is holding its own and the two Novas I added, fight for position wherever I start them. The other 429 moves up the field too.
Superbirds are PP 713, but if one gets stuck behind the Super Bee battle pack, it rides and can’t catch the leaders(usually the top 10 or 11).
This last race, I actually won. The Camaro and the #71 Superbird pulled a huge gap from the field. I caught up at half distance(Lap 5 of 10) and didn’t get punted. Good stuff.

Spent way too much money on GT3 cars tonight and promptly applied the 2022 GT300 liveries on them. Gotta love people cranking them out so fast. This will be fun.

I'm convinced PD gave certain cars behavioral patterns. The super bird is fast but has the IQ of a toddler when it comes to passing other cars, It gives up when it shouldn't. Meanwhile the 69' corvette stingray will fight through the pack. Same with the 2000's M3 . Car is possessed to win and is super agressive , R32 Skyline is fast but predictable and only takes risks on straight lines. Seriously add the M3 into the feild and the little bastard enjoys making drastic turns .

Tried to do a custom race at Autopolis last night with a mixed GT500/300 field and it was terrible. Only had it set for 10 laps and even starting last in GT300 I cruised through the field rather quickly. Getting less interested in doing these custom races with the AI only doing 95% throttle. They're also having a hard time keeping their cars straight.

That’s a bummer. I bought 20 Mazda touring roadsters and put custom liveries on all of them to do a custom race. Sucks that the ai will suck. I did the Mazda’s cause they are cheap and figured I’d experiment with them before I bought a bunch of porsches to do a Porsche super cup custom race.

Been playing with Trans-Am/Touring Car Masters Races. It’s also becoming hit or miss. Just 1-3 laps. There are some good battles at Bathurst, but at Daytona Road course, the lead car pulls away by some 5-6 seconds on the first lap. Plus, I‘m losing the rear again. Not as dramatic as before this latest update, but I notice some of the AI cars nearly losing it too. I think that can be effecting the distance between “competitors”.

Wasn't a custom race, but I had an AI just straight miss his braking point and slam into me last night.
I’ve had those instances. Happens at Le Mans, to me, mostly. Don’t know what braking markers PD program for the AI. When it rains, they brake like 400 meters. In the dry, they’re sitting in my passenger seat.

Adjusted some settings to the Inline-Six grid. All Cars working good at PP 584-587. CSLs and Fairladys run around 215-220 BHP at 1000-1010kgs. Skylines sit at 190 BHP/920kg. All cars have adjustable manual Top Speed set, at 240km/h.

Visited DTG to see how AI deal with The Four Brothers and slow corners. Was good. Dropped spots at the start and caught the leaders mid-race. Nice little battle until the AI straight up spun me on the last lap.

Last night, I completed the Trial Mountain 2 Hour endurance race from GT3 with none other than the Pennzoil GT-R. Used 2x for both fuel and tire wear. I also kept things authentic to old school GT by limiting the number of opponents to 5. I completed 61 laps which equates to 203 miles.

With the large selection of Gr.3 cars, I love how the game generated 2 DBR9’s. And here was the car condition after the race:

The next endurance race I’d like to do is the Laguna Seca 200 Miles (90 laps), as that’s appeared in multiple previous games.

The Aston and McLaren GT1 are stupid OP in Gr. 3 if you don't have BoP or a detuned car in your garage.

I did a 2.4h Spa race yesterday (56 Laps, 2x Fuel and 4x Tires) and even had to push my 800PP Viper to keep up with them. I think next I'll buy more Gr. 3 and 4 cars to do a Nurburgring 2.4

Well, due to the easing of the Pandemic, we can nearly recreate this year’s Bathurst 12H. There are only 20 cars and we have them all , but the GT2 KTM X-Bow. The 911 RSR have to be used, instead of the normal RR GT3R of course. The MARC II V8s are the Mustang models. Pretty close to what we have in the Mustang Gr.3. There are also two GT3 Porsche Cup cars. Easy to build.

The grid is as follows:

R8 Evo - 7
AMG GT3 - 6
Huracan - 1
911 GT3R(RSR) - 1
X-Bow GT2(I guess fill in the blank with a high horsepower, low drag, MR race car) - 1
Mustang MARC II V8(Mustang Gr.3) - 2
991 GT3 Gen II(tuned 991 GT3 RS) - 2

Car list is in the link

Just seeing this thread, and had been working on a muscle car field too. I tried to get all the cars as close as possible. PP ranges from 585-600. Ran 5 laps at DRC, with RH tires on all. Had my car's PP at 525.

The Corvette sitting in third, wound up being the rabbit, and ran away with it. Checking each car after the race, I noticed something. I forgot to buy a full race transmission for the that Vette, so don't see how it was so fast, especially with the Challengers higher on PP.

Either way, there were some interesting battles between the AI, which made the replay somewhat entertaining.

I’ve been doing a lot of 1h custom races and even if you turn off the boost there’s some strange things happening. When I get to first place the P2 puts some ridiculous laps and then slows down once it catches you. On SPA, during his boosted laps, P2 was hitting 30km/h more than the non-boosted laps.

The Lago Magiore mission race was awesome. I wish they could bring this AI to the custom races.

I tried a custom race last night. got to second place coming out of the first corner. The leader was in a ZR1 and FLYING away from me.

Then, I guess the rubber band kicked in, the leader went from 6+ seconds ahead down to letting me pass 3 corners from the end, in a 2 lap race.

Seems like a pointless feature now. If I am trying a custom race, I'm doing it for added challenge/practice. I'm not doing it to stroke my ego. Why not allow the AI to be set to the maximum?

This game is disappointing me more and more daily. :(

Did PD repaierd Custom Race AI tires? No AI uses equipped tires instead of stock?
I think you have to set the cars to Racing hard if you want non-racecars to use racing tires as I noticed some cars were performing far worse than usual until I gave them racing hards even though they already had racing soft tires installed.

Another question. Do you know how time multiplayer work? I see that 10x is the biggest time compression. How many "minutes/hours" is one day on that setting? I wanted to make 24h Nurburgring race compressed to 1 hour how should i set this? Does anyone have time table how time is compressed with every setting?

From PCars 2 i remember that x24 was 1 hour = 24 hour setting.

You can’t compress 24h into 1h race. I’ve tried this in le mans and I didn’t get into the night. My guess is 10x is 10h into 1h, so you need a 2.4h race.

I think PC2 is x60 = 60 seconds? So, we couldn’t do exactly 24 minutes/24H, as the time setting only went in 5 minute increments. It‘s be a 25H race. Was a minor hiccup for me.

Yeah, PD are able to set the WTC800 Spa for a 24H race. Can’t see how we don’t have that function for one hour.

You are right. But 25x was "near" 24 hours (25 hours actually) and it worked pretty well. Too bad we only have 2.5 hours :(

And the le man 24 minutes mission. My guess is that for some tracks the frame rate would suffer. We’re already seeing issues in some tracks when the sun starts to set.

This game needed dynamic resolution. I don’t understand why they didn’t implement it.

Has anyone found a way to disable ASC for the AI when they're in road cars? My R33 GTR is used by the AI without it, but I haven't had success with any other car

MMX
Need the 69 Mustang to come back around. If I had 3 more, I could have a full 20 car field.

We have the same fetish it seems...my 20 car TransAm starting grid now has 4 Camaros, 4 Mustang Mach1s, 3 Challangers, 2 Mustang Bosses, 2 Shelby Mustangs, 2 Pontiac Transams, 2 Superbees and one Superbird(with 3 Corvettes in the backhand to add some variety) all set up to 520-530pp and with authentic or made up vintage TransAm/Nascar liveries

Whats your PS-name, i woulkd like to have you in my friends-list if you don't mind...

Best and closest custom races I had so far, is when I start with a self made gr4(with a pp around 650) car against other gr4 cars(I don't pick the rivals from my garage but select gr4 as opponents), with grid start and professional opponents...the AI seems to be really good and "intelligent" in that races and since the self made gr4 cars handle not quite as good as the original gr4 cars, those races are really tight and even

Based on what I’ve seen on this thread, I think I want to create a custom muscle car championship - I hope though PD add more muscle cars soon e.g. Dodge Charger - having 20 different classic muscle cars would be fun. I’ve been heavily inspired by this thread so definitely keep them coming!

More is always better...Charger, AMC Javelin(!), Ford Falcon, Plymouth Barracuda would all be great...

But it's also fun to have more of the same car in one race an tune them all differntly...different weights, different horsepower, different engines(normal or supercharged), other different tuning parts, different settings and see how they behave differntly according to the racetrack you are racing on...
And when you look at the grids from the classic TransAm period(1966-1972) there were always a bunch of same cars on the start...

Great site btw for historic Transam racing(with all the cars, tracks and all the results from 66-72 in the "TransAm History" section):

MMXtreme. I'm a bit of a recluse in game, so you'd be better off to follow me, than send a friend request.

I haven't run a single online race.
