Has anyone found a way to disable ASC for the AI when they're in road cars? My R33 GTR is used by the AI without it, but I haven't had success with any other car
For whatever, reason, PD chose to lock in the driver’s aids. The programming doesn’t need them. I haven’t noticed any of my cars having it disabled for the AI.
Based on what I’ve seen on this thread, I think I want to create a custom muscle car championship - I hope though PD add more muscle cars soon e.g. Dodge Charger - having 20 different classic muscle cars would be fun. I’ve been heavily inspired by this thread so definitely keep them coming!
For me, the classic cars maybe a bit more random with what parts are added. Some cars may have slight aero advantage with a front or rear splitter for cornering, but lower PP for straight line performance. Hot hatches, though few, are a good category to build.
Gr.4 builds seem to perform well, mixed in versus Gr.4 “homologated“ grids.
The Trans-Am/Touring Car Masters cars are too much fun. Their different power, weight specs and gearing, are a challenge at first, but when you get the balance you want, it’s a great category.

I‘m rebuilding my Fuji Speedway racers, now that I have more Z432s. Can’t wait to get them on the track.

I did 20 Mazda touring cars all with individual liveries, Praino’s tune and parts and 20 GR Yaris’ same, individual liveries, Praino’s tune, slight variations on PP and mixed them and had some great races. Starting my Gr4 collection now to do the same thing with them. I wish you could have a qualy session.

I'm working on making a Gr. 3/4 multi-class race with his tunes to see what'll happen.

I'm probably the only person in the world that does "B-Spec" custom races.

Sometimes I prefer to watch the races back by replay, than to actually drive in them myself.
So, I'll put myself in a Safety Car at the front, peel off and let the pack pass, then park up, and come back later depending on how long I made the race (usually 60-90 mins). Not easy to avoid spoiling the results after, though.

Given I have every Gr.1 and Gr.2 car, as well as 3/4 of the Gr.3's, I've been having a blast. Custom Multi-Class Le Mans, Spa, Nürburgring, Daytona, pretty much every track at this point. So I could add non-BoP cars, I manually BoP'd every car before PD added the option, just to add variety (Chaparral 2X, Jaguar VGT SV, Lambo V12 VGT, as an example).

Also had some F1 style races too, as I have more Super Formula cars than any one person ever should.

Last night I decided to have a Peugeot vs. Audi duel - 3 908's vs. 3 R18's, with a bunch of other cars for good measure.

I'll post some pics if I remember to go upload them, but for me it's amazing.

It's like playing with Hot Wheels as a kid, racing them around after you went and collected them - but actually on real race tracks. It's 9 year old me's dream. Custom Races like this are absolutely my favourite thing in any racing game ever, even with GT7's content issues I'm never bored. I love it.

Yup. I do a few races like those to see how AI perform.

Took the new AM DB5 to Blue Moon, 4 laps, random opponents. Came 7th, well and truly beaten by two Ferrari F8 Tributos, no surprises there! This new custom race method is super!

Keeping the races short nd different layouts. Kind of odd with certain tracks. AI are competing at these tracks. As soon as loaded Up Daytona, I was flying by the AI. Just wasn’t right. Stopped the race before the first lap was completed.
These races were fun and had their challenging moments. Good stuff.

Hi all - first post, purely to ask if im missing something in this game or can look forward to it as im only 17% in - i have now some nice classic cars in my "garage" with some retro liveries & all upgraded to be closely competitive - so i go to the tracks & do a custom race / choose cars from my garage & the race is great, the replay real eye candy, BUT.......i cant =

  • save this race format - each time i want this kind of race i have to choose all the cars & grid place them again
  • juggle change the cars around having done one race
what i`d like is to create a classic car series of races of my choice of tracks & with points system of my choice .................am i missing something ?

The livery editor is fun & one of the best in my opinion for a wrap around livery is the Nissan Cube..........it aint` there !

You cannot save anything, no.

I tested custom mode.
It's great that car from garage save player setup. So it's possible to setup 800pp cars from diefferent categories and geet a great race, not just 800pp car against gr3 or 700pp car against gt4 like in events.
But it's not so great that tires choice doesn't work for garage cars. I trieds Gr1, SuperFormula and I saw in race replay that all AI cars use only Hard tires.
As I remember for SuperFormula, F1 AI used Soft tires in GT Sport.

It means that I need to use only hard tires if I want an equal PP for all cars, cos medium tires gives +10-20pp on the road. I think it would be really hard for F1500 or SuperFormula to get the first place on it.

It would be great to add such oppotunity to creat users races and championships. I don't think that it would be much harder to make rooms in sport-mode.
We need just to add TITLE, save button and oppotunity to save it like we add new photos and so on.

This mode can make GT7 single mode much more bigger if there will be custom races. But i'm affraid that Kaz is more interested in Sport mode then single races, cos PS plus.

I just made Excel file where I copy some events conditions from GT5-6-Sport. It would be fun for me, cos AI is more harder then before, and weather conditions can give some points.

I just don't believe that there will be added a lot of new events soon. It seems like Kaz prefer to add content for new layouts, races, cars. Maybe he think that it's boring just to add GT2-GT1 events for exist races. Cos I don't understand why PD can't add more then 6 events during 2,5 months. Just ridiculous! I can create 20 GT1 races in custom race editor for 1 hour. And as I can wee the ballance of AI in custom race is simular like in GT7 events. I don't see any manual work that make ballance in events better then in custom races.

thanks Dess ......on the subject of AI i find it a little disappointing as the other cars drive so perfect without mistakes, i find tweaking all the cars in custom races so they are very close p/p helps as they race very tightly together & things happen - if you look at how wreckfest runs for example, its action/reaction to the chaos going on in the races make each race completely different and this can look like amazing AI

So. I have more money than sense.

What should one do with 30mil Cr.?

Make a Super GT field of course!

Spent a good few hours making a BoP for the Gr.2 and Gr.3 Super GT cars, as well as tweaking a Diablo GT that you can see up front!

I already had a few of these, but this was really, really satisfying to make. All Cars lapped Fuji at 1:42 consistently too - only issues were the Gr.3 cars being far thirstier than the Gr.2's detuned, and the Diablo being even thirstier. Had a 30min race at Fuji to test, and just about won from the very back (the white Mobil 1 NSX you can just about see at the back), overtaking the leader on the final lap after needing to stop for fresh RH's.

Seeing the late-90's/early-00's JGTC/Super GT liveries brings back all the GT3 memories for me.
Castrol Mugen NSX > All, lol.

Now that I’ve picked up the C9, I can do this:

We’re missing the Peugeot, TS010 and Spice chassis cars. Also, Silverstone, Magny-Cours and Autodromo Herman’s Rodriguez( the current Formula E circuit in Mexico). Yet, we have Suzuka, Monza, la Sarthe, Nurburgring and Autopolis. So I can at least do five out of eight circuits, from that 1991 season.

2 questions :

1. is it just me or does the first AI car slow down always for you to catch up ?
2. if i turn boost on does it give me the boost only or does it effect the AI as well ?

1. Yes. However, I’ve noticed, if I use a much slower car(as in a Multi-class race), the leader’s time drops off, but not enough for me to catch up. In similar performing cars, one of the videos I posted, I catch up and pass, but the AI keep me on my toes to the flag.
2. I’ve never used boost. Maybe someone else can answer.

Haha, thought about doing these too, having gathered all GT500 cars from '16/'08/late 90's for a full grid.

I'm wondering though, if I pull my own car to the side and let the AI cars do their thing, will they actually fight against each other or is this going to be a procession like the Monaco Grand Prix, given that the GT500 cars basically all have the same power?

I wasn't happy with the "Random" option for the opponent selection in custom races because the car pool is limited to the vehicle class your own car is in. For instance a road car will always have road car opponents, a Group 3 car will always have Group 3 opponents, and a Group X car will always have Group X opponents (which is especially nonsensical, given how vastly different the cars in this class are).

Luckily however, the "Select from Garage" option allows for a nice workaround. All you have to do is enter a list of all your cars on a randomizer website like random.org and it'll generate a random starter grid for you. The list for this particular 1h endurance race with a x5 multiplier for fuel and tyres was as follows:

1. Lamborghini Miura P400 Bertone Prototype '67
2. Nissan R92CP '92
3. Dodge SRT Tomahawk S VGT
4. RUF CTR3 '07
5. Maserati GranTurismo S '08
6. Abarth Abarth 500 '09
7. Ferrari 308 GTB '75
8. Ferrari FXX K '14
9. Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione '91
10. Ferrari 512 BB '76
11. Subaru Impreza Coupe WRX Type R STi Ver.VI '99
12. Audi TTS Coupé '14
13. Chaparral 2J '70
14. Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 (C4) '89
15. AMG 300 SEL 6.8 AMG '71
16. Toyota Celica GT-Four (ST205) '94
17. Ford Mustang Mach 1 '71
18. Nissan Silvia K's Dia Selection (S13) '90
19. Volkswagen Volkswagen 1200 '66
20. Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione '08 (Me)

What can I say.......it was great fun :D A grid of such huge variety makes for unique dynamics during the race. The vast differences in speed also lead to mare race incidents, which shake things up every now and then. Halfway through the race I got caught up in a battle with the Ferrari FXX, while simultaneously dodging both backmarkers and faster cars left and right  The Ferrari was definitely faster than me, however he fact that the AI is woeful at dealing with traffic meant that I ultimately ended up victorious.

My car collection is currently at 224/430 cars and I think the grid kind of shows that I've been focussing on LCD, UCD and invitational cars. I wanted to get those out of the way first because of their varying availability. I've got almost nothing from Brand Central yet, though that is going to change long-term. GT7 is going to be tremendous fun once I've got a full collection. I just wish the way to get there wasn't so tedious. And that the AI wasn't so dumb at overtaking.
