Will there ever be an update that transfers the tire settings from the garage-picked opponents 1:1 to the race like it does with all the other settings instead of always using the default tires...?

As much as I like my custom races with my historic muscle cars(or with 70ies or 80ies sportcars), as much I hate it, that all of them(except the Mustang Boss) have to do that races only on comfort tires...

If I had to choose between higher payouts for custom races and free tire selection for my opponents in custom races I would pick the tires...the higher payouts are also much needed, but they would only make me richer-the tire selection would make me happier, and I always pick happyness before wealth...in games as in reality!

i use racing hard tiers on my cars and they do carry over when you pick them as opponents

What???

I try that out instantly, and report back in an hour...
It is possible, I did miss out on the piece of information completly...that's brilliant, why didn't anybody tell me that before...😅

Just did a quick all Gt350 race on the smallest Willoes Creek track with 6 cars, all on racing hards, an they kicked my ass completly...(the same race with all on the same comfor tires would have been an easy win for me...)

So there is a new challenge and a completly new coustom race world for me(for instance set up David vs. Goliath races with Minis and the likes and big muscle cars, where all have the kind of same PP)

Ok, now that that is settled(ok, still no chance to give them sports tires when thy come with comforts per default, but i can live with that): give us higher pay outs for custom races!!!!

Can anyone help me?

I am trying to do some custom races and wanna set rolling start interval at 50m but every time I try it goes to 15m and I can't change it any ideas guys/girls?

So only racing hard tyres are used in custom races if you set them as the cars tyre in garage? otherwise they revert back to their defaults, be it comfort soft, sports medium etc?

I haven't tried out other racing tires yet, but i think that'll also work with racing medium and softs...

Question is, what will happen, when it starts to rain...will the opponents then change to intermediates or full wets, will it depend if I have bought them for any individual opponent-car or will they simply stay on their racing tires...?

Ok Folks like I promised here are my Settings which I’m using to make my Custom Race Experience somewhat entertaining and enjoyable.
Keep in mind though that my Mindset is always going for a Contact Free and Fair Race.
I first and foremost race for the immersive Experience hence I don’t go for every opportunity and wisely time my Moves on Track.
I always drive in Cockpit View with Wobble 2 and have the HUD completely disabled.
I completely Focus on what’s happening in front of me and try to drive as smooth as possible and never push like a Maniac or like I would if I’d TimeTrial for a Daily Race.
I‘m always going the Realistic Route, no corner cutting always 2Tires on the Track and no insane Engine Braking or redlining the rev limiter.
I always race as I’d do it in real life too.

My Car is the McLaren which I set to 622pp. It’s bone stock racing Hard tires. I just restricted the engine Power nothing else.
My opponents PP vary from 630-670pp. Most of them around 650pp.
No tuning just bone stock with having slapped some Turbochargers to them to get their power output up.
Keep the exact order like you see it in the Picture though.
I noticed that it makes a huge difference if you let the Cars start in a different order.
This particular order which you can see in the Pictures provides the most thrilling experience to me.

If you have any specific questions regarding the exact pp setups for each Car I could do that too but as long as you keep your Car around 620pp and than as You go up the Grid you just increase the opponents PP.
You do not have to make it a gradual Increase though.
Experiment to your likings.
You can make 2 or 3 Groups or many small 3-4 Car Groups or a long 1st to last Group.
It all depends on the order you slot the Cars in the Grid.
@Nuschel01
i just tried to upload my Replays, game showed me the StinkyFinger
Is there a workaround maybe

Edit: My McLaren is set to 628pp sorry my mistake but anything between 620 and 630 depending on the track you’re racing at should be good.
And most importantly NEVER EVER use BoP.
And DEFINITELY use Boost on Weak.
Not strong, definitely NOT OFF, just weak.
This 2 particular settings seem to have an deciding Factor in mitigating the Rubberbanding and overall a very unrealistic on track Behaviorfrom your Opponents.
Again, use the boost Function on weak but disable BoP.
And ALWAYS keep your Cars pp and HP below your Opponents.
The Combination of these 3 Factors are crucial to eliminate the Rubberbanding and to give you a really good Challenge.
If you now still can easily Win WITHOUT making Contacts and fly through the Field than I don’t know how you do it or why it’s so different compared to my experience.
Good luck and let me know what you think of my Settings.
If it turns out to be a Game Changer for you too, that’d be awesome so please let me know 😁
Here is another question:

I read all that with great interest...
When doing custom races I always set the boost on off, thinking that any kind of boost will give me too much advantage to all other cars...never thought, that my opponents/the AI can profit from that boost as well...
So can anybody else confirm, that when setting the boost to weak, that the races become tighter and closser and that the AI does actually benefit from it...has anybody her made similiar experiences ?

What I can confirm from the post of PirocacBoy:when you try to race as clean as possible, the AI is pretty good(and fair) in custom races, and the quality of the AI rises with the with the quality of the car/quality of the settings as well it seems to me(for example in the tace with the 350gtos with racing tiers the AI was brilliant compared to the same race with comfort tires...)

Racing medium and soft dont work in custom races. I think you are probably right.

I’ve only noticed in wet to dry conditions. When the track is drying and the AI PIT, if a Car has RH and RS as a tyre option, the AI will select the RS during the pit stop.

Just need confirmation: Since we can now go up to 30x (48 minutes for a full day cycle), is 24x the right scale to make it an hour like the WTC800 Spa race?

Correct. 1hr with 24x acceleration simulates 24hrs cycle.

anyone notice that if u give an AI a car with engine swap and tuned to 900 / 1000 bhp they will drive as if the car is stock ! too bad i was planning on doing a full tuning cars races with 1k hp :(

Finally got around to using that Weak Boost function. That has no doubt, after testing six races at different circuits, transformed the AI behaviour. Didn’t give it a second thought since forever. Now, I’ve only used it with these cars, but before using Boost, I’d have passed the cars in the back half of the grid. Not now.

My weakest car is the PP 614 Skyline. The Z cars are in the PP 624-626 range. The lone Fugu Z in the grid, is at PP 635. The CSLs are PP 628. Lone 308 GTB is PP 658, 512 BB is PP 719 and the 930s are PP 718.

The biggest surprise were the AI at Bathurst. The AI did tap the brakes twice, but not the braking to slow down as they do with Boost Off.

In a Goodwood race, I used the 512 to see how the AI adjust speed and the lead cars were gone. Cars in all positions were keeping pace and no slowing down. It’s really thrown all my previous races, bar the N2 AE86s, for a loop. Going to have to try all my combos again. Hope this is for real.

@Batschisane52 from what I’m experiencing, it’s looking promising.

I‘m in the last place Skyline to let the AI race.

Edit: Made some adjustments to the Porsches

@PirovacBoy thanks for that heads up about Boost Weak. I’m still experimenting with different classes, but gee whiz, it’s an eye opener.
Tired a Non-BOP Gr.4 with the default starting position. Couldn’t catch & pass the Mustang.

BOP On and seeing if the AI drop to a turtle’s pace. Nope. AI kept pace all race. This is much more fun now.

Big test is going to be a Super Taikyu set up, with eight classes. My ST5 Demio should not be passing GT4 cars. I’ll see how AI go with a longer race this weekend.

It seems to be limited by the size of the grid. With a small grid of 6 cars I can set the start interval (although I did less than 50m). But when I did a full 20 car grid everyone was very close together.

On the topic of weak boost, it does take any car under ~520HP a whilw to be faster tahn other cars, but they will 'fight' you for position or be a second quicker

and man, MR and extreme wet weather do NOT mix well, eespeciallu with the damn understeer

Yes, for some reason cars with only racing softs installed use the default tires if they are a street/non gr car so the only way to make them halfway competitive is by installing racing hards.

I haven't done custom rain races yet so i'm not sure if purchasing racing wets or intermediates will make a difference or not.

 Dont know how long I was leading for, but after starting P2 and battling the first few laps, was gifted the lead by the leaders going off at T1. Lead exchanged a few times as I made a couple mistakes. About three to four AI would be right behind me all the time. Divebombing each other into T1. Never had so many laughs during a race.
Anyway, saw my fuel was getting low and I guess tyre a bit of tyre wear caught me out. Messed up a couple times and nought I could recover. After an hour, this was the result.

The race was set at 1 hour, 1x tyre/fuel/time. No BOP and Boost Weak. I’m convinced the Boost is the best way to enjoy Custom Races. Watched some of the replay. Just really really cool.

Yesterday I decided to create new class for Custom races. Class is loosely based on V8 SuperCars Gen3 but decided to Supercharge V8 engines instead of natural aspirated since Camaro ZL1 is SS from stock :) For now both cars are around 730 PP so they are on par with GT3 cars but have less downforce and more power.
I am still considering making new camaro ZL1 since i overtuned it a little too much and needed to use Power limiter.
Also I am considering throwing Dodge Challenger Hellcat to the mix just for fun and make it more "american V8 supercars"

What do you think about this idea?
Here is photo of Mustang and Camaro I created. Liveries not mine. But couldn't resist using those stock Gen3 skins.

PS. One of the biggest advantages of this class is relatively low cost and effort. Both cars are in brand central for around 80k credits. So it is very easy to complete 20 cars set.

Shelby 350R

I was thinking about Camaro SS and Mustang GT, but i feel that Shelby and ZL1 looks better and more like Gen3 Supercars. But SS and GT could be used as Natural Aspirated V8 supercars which is closer to real thing.

I’ve run my Gr.4 cars at every real world track and can’t understand why the Boost Weak is not the default Rivals Difficulty. I’m having the best racing since using this function. It’s uncanny how they can program this, but not make this a standard thing.

How it will perform in multiclass event? If I make Group 1 and group 3 race won't gr3 cars have huge boost to keep up with group 1?
