I wouldn't sell the current youth short. They are already glued to phones and tablets. Giving them new technology to look at screens with glasses, at will and hands-free, probably wouldn't due out. It's less gimmicky with multiple uses.

Me and my wife will be 52 this year. We've seen how fast technology advanced in 20 years. Well see how the market take to the advancement of VR.

As for VR and wheels, I don't have a wheel. We'll see how wheel users feel when/if players get the headset. Some complain about having the wheel Visible in cockpit mode as it is.
Do some wheels users need to see the button functions? Are some wheel users more intuitive with the button functions?
Wil be interesting to know how the hardcore wheel users feel about the headset.
I’ve always used a wheel with GT. I jumped on the VR bandwagon with the Quest 2 on PC, and I always use cockpit mode their. I never liked cockpit mode on TV because it cuts off too much field of vision. This is much more adaptable in VR (at least it is with ACC and iRacing). I’ve had no issue with wheel buttons. After a while your hands just know where they are.

Based on Jordan’s review, it seems the PSVR2 is a step up from the Quest 2, and I can’t wait to see what it’s like.

I play racing sims for the immersive experience of something I love but could never do in real life. If you’re in this camp, it’s very hard to go back once you’ve experienced VR. I was a little bummed when GT7 didn’t have VR, but it is truly beautiful on an OLED TV.

I’m extremely happy and filled with anticipation to experience it in VR on OLED displays. From what I’ve read the rendering performance is better than what I have on PC.

I can recall members in the Project Cars and Assetto Corsa threads mentioning Oculus Rift(?). Figured PSVR2 would be automatic for wheel users. I think one of the main issues in GT are the wheel animations. Players wanted the option to switch that off. I know also the FOV needs more adjustment. With VR, I wonder if leaning forward will give a better close up of gauges in certain cars.

Jordan did mention gauges were more legible, but we’ll see with the car roster. I mean, something like the GT300 BRZ has tiny gauges. Even on my 65” tv, its slightly difficult to see the smaller readouts.

It's been an interesting journey having started my sim racing journey with GT5 (Prologue) and then branching out to Project Cars, Assetto Corsa and ACC when GT stagnated, and now coming back full circle to GT7.

All of these games have their different strengths and weaknesses. In this vein, I agree with what Jordan said in his interview, that PD has always paid extra attention to visual detail, especially now that they have the horsepower with PS5 to do so.

Based on this I am expecting the VR experience with GT7 to be something very nice.

I guess I'll know in two or three weeks.

I'm pretty sure I'm struggling with the Maggiore 1hr Endurance, as I recently tried to do a two-stop on RMs, but I was nearly half a minute behind the lead at the race's end, ultimately placing ninth. Is there some sort of strategy I'm missing?

Nope, just need to drive faster

I actually totally forgot about the Top Gear Test Track.

I used to love driving around there
Same here. Would host car meets/drag racing lobby's back in the GT5 online days with my friends on the Top Gear Test Track. Good times.

Just saying, but I can easily see a VR update being focused only on VR and have no other content in it, so no cars, tracks or new features. Kinda makes sense, considering they probably want the VR thing to be the highlight. Would be awkward if player's focus went straight to a hypothetical Daihatsu Midget II or Grand Valley instead. Especially considering how low the amount of VR players will be when the update drops, comparing to non-VR players (so not many people will be able to share their VR experience online to being with, and it would be even worse if it gets drown in a majority talking about non-VR stuff).

On another hand, a massive poopstorm can hit all Gran Turismo 7 chats and forums around the world with people being super mad about the lack of new content for two consecutive months. Yhough I can't imagine it being any bigger than a couple of angry threads here and some Instagram posts.

I don't see it being a VR update means no new content. That would mean nothing for none VR players. I expect twice the cars we've been getting and a new track.

As for cars, I'd like an LMP2 and LMP3. Make doesn't matter in either case.

Sometimes, I think the internet was a mistake.

I preferred the puns. Can we go back to that? That would be really Sonoma Circuit Formerly Infineon Raceway of us.

...I'm still not good at this.

(after a mysterious disappearance, this post is irrelevant and can also be deleted)

Might I offer a path on to a more positive Road? I hope you like Atlanta.

Could I be using the wrong car? I’m trying to use the Corvette Gr.3, too.
The Corvette it's not very fuel efficient so you lose quite a bit of time on pitstop, but a win is still possible if you do 1:57 laps. Take a look at this thread.

I got 1st driving the RCZ. Not a fast Gr.3 car, but it's very fuel efficient and pretty good with worn RM tires.

What difficulty you're playing? I don't know if it's fixed, but I remember that difficulty settings can affect some races. On Easy the AI can lap 1:57-1:58, on hard they do 1:58-1:59.

Why the heck are invitations for Brand Central cars even a reward on the roulette ticket wheels? I've gotten 3 invitations out of six 4-star tickets today.
can't imagine any player be crazy happy for these invitations, while you can already buy the cars without the invites!

What kind of laptimes are you putting down? I remember having to do some practice around that track to get my times consistently down.

Two stop on RM is the way to go, I used the Porsche 911 RSR, pitting after 20 and 40 mins on fuel map 2.

It's definitely one of the hardest races in the game, one I'd wish they'd let us run again and again with the payout.

If you're struggling to the point where it's no longer fun, no shame in putting the difficulty down. I slammed the difficulty down to easy for the rallycross events...

The invitations give you 30 days (formerly 14) of access to certain cars that you cannot buy without an invitation. There's several members here who have been begging the RNGods for a Ferrari invitation to buy the Enzo, LaFerrari and FXX-K. Personally I've not had a chance to buy the Aston Martin Vulcan in the last 140+ roulette spins.

I honestly think the invitations thing should be scrapped.

Agreed. It's a dumb feature.

Indeed.

It's just like engines' being hidden behind the roulette system; they're both unnecessary road blocks when spending earned credits ought to get you what you want, when you can afford it.
I fully agree I yet to miss a day since I bought the game trying and hoping to finally be able to buy the fxxk.:(

Burn it down.

Who made this dumb feature?

Invitations should be a loyalty program if you are loyalty to the brand you are allowed access to the cars.

Being loyal to Ferrari or Mclaren does not mean you miss out on other brands.

Gran Turismo cant be taken seriously when stuff like this are locked behind a roulette.

I don't think invitations should be scrapped, it's an interesting idea, but they should be distributed differently. At the very least they can do the same thing as they did with engines, a roulette ticket with only invitations.
But it would be much better if it was something like "Drive 50000km in a Ferrari to get an invitation" or "Own 10 Ferrari to get an invitation" or "Complete a Ferrari menu book to get an invitation". Considering how Ferrari has 3 invitation-only cars, all three of those examples can be implemented, giving you one invitation for each. I think TDU had something similar with some of the cars, definitely remember a bunch being locked behind some game milestones, and it really felt like a big achievement and a nice award when u finally was able to buy one of those.

Not to take a piss on your fire there, but some hope may come in the form of the Showroom feature. I believe Jordan said we can look at cars We don’t own, in the showroom. So, we(you) you(we) may be able to get in and have “feel” for these cars. It’s never the same as driving, but can be an almost auto show type deal to sit in cars we normally wouldn’t.
