Sure, I’ll transcribe the settings here later today. I don’t know if I even touched the power limiter, despite buying and installing it. It’s really just the full-custom ECU and the ballast that I fooled arouns with, plus the Sport Medium tires. I’ll be sure to post some of the resulting stats, too, like power and weight. I think it was somewhere in the ballpark of 340 HP and 2400 lbs - though my swapped Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X with the Escudo engine has around the same PP with about 480 HP, but it’s also a little over 400 lbs heavier!

EDIT: I also saw last night that I hadn’t done this one round of the European Clubman Cup 600 @ Deep Forest Raceway, so maybe I’ll effectively test it out there, despite the PP limit being a mere suggestion.

So it seems the new Mazda Roadster doesn't have any listed CC, Power, Torque or Weight figures, and is mechanically completely untunable (outside of tyres, ballast & a power restrictor)

The Toyota RAV4 on the other hand has surprised me by just how much tuning you can do, unlike the majority of SUV's we've had. Not having a CVT gearbox probably helps with that, plus it's also a 4WD version so has more off-road potential.

Something that I find a bit odd not to be listed as a change even in the patch notes, but the new Dunlop tyre stickers we saw at the GT World Series event are indeed in the game now.
However no new Dunlop decals in the preset decal library.

I went the through the process Wednesday night to find the Power and Weight of this car. Yeah, it was kind of a PITA to get it.

IF PD do their usual update thing, September's update notwithstanding, Spec III will most likely land on 25 December, 2025. Which would be outstanding for me since, if I have the leave time to play with, I'll be off work from then until the 2nd or 5th of January.

Full-custom ECU: 91
Ballast: 4

That’s it. The only other tuning part I had installed was a power limiter, but I didn’t need to change its settings at all. The front/rear downforce settings are also unchanged from their stock settings. The resulting power/weight is 351 HP and 2434 lbs.

EDIT: Oh! And this was using Sport Medium tires, too!

I believe that's a live event only thing.
But it could be cool to have in the public build of the game too, though it still would need a human to operate it.

It got me thinking that if it were to be a public thing, could it have worked out like how Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) did it with its Overwatch system? Maybe there is some kind of stewarding on other racing games that I don't know, but CS:GO was the first thing that came out of my mind seeing that picture.
 
Working on a GT7 project called the Gran Turismo 7 Extended Package (or GT7 EP). It's a web browser based, sort of companion app kind of thing.

It's a Twine program that will run on PC/Mac and mobile, and with one press/click, it’ll give you a random thing to do.

It takes very little power to run, as it's all HTML, and it should be smooth on any modern supported device.

If you've finished the main game and want some structure, this is intended to give a sense of that. It'll release some time after GT7 Spec 3, and it'll be on itch.io.

It's a finite list, but it will be extensive, so that, beyond random chance, you shouldn't often get the same result. And if you do, you can click to get another random prompt right away.

An example of the things it could give (list not final, but it'll be along these lines):

  • Use an Audi R8 4.2 '07 at Trial Mountain Circuit with these specific custom race settings

  • Take a picture at a specific Scape location with a specific car

  • Driving the Super Formula SF23, complete a race at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Autodromo Nazionale Monza, and Autódromo de Interlagos with these specific custom race settings

  • Complete a lap of x track in y time with z car (lap time will be completed by me to ensure it is possible - I'm a little above average skill wise)

  • Beat the Clubman Cup+ event at Suzuka in a Nissan GT-R '17

  • Win an all-Ferrari race at Autodrome Lago Maggiore using these specific custom race settings and the Select from Garage option

  • Finish 8th or above in torrential rain at Autopolis using these specific custom race settings

  • Use an engine swapped car to beat Group 1/2/3 cars at Watkins Glen International

  • Compete in a custom race at Dragon Trail Seaside with aero parts and wide tyre track width on your car

  • Race at night at Mount Panorama with Yellow lightbulbs installed on your car

For racing, it will lean more into custom races, so that more of it is new content, and also for better racing. Each custom race will have Sophy alternatives if rain or a given track isn't available, for example.

The custom race settings will be fairly standardised for easy loading, outside of one makes or challenge races, but challenge races won't take overly long to set up and will be pretty rare.

One makes/select from garage races are quick to set up, and in those events, it's just a couple of extra steps to get optimal race balance when against regular AI. This is simple once you get it down - and you don't have to do it if you don't want to. It'll be a suggestion for best racing.

I want to use every feature of the game in some way. And while I want to focus on quality over quantity, I also want a large number of things to do, so that it doesn't become repetitive.

Some "things to do" could be more open, approach wise, to allow for more replayability from a single "thing to do", but I also want to have enough more narrowly focused things to do, as well.

The things to do will not generally focus on long events - there will be some, but primarily it's short-medium length for each thing to do.

I'm mulling over whether I should swap my spare Renault R8 Gordini or not. On one hand, it'd be a massive bump in power to get it swapped, and it's a very affordable swap at that. However, if I were to swap it, I worry that it'll become ineligible for certain events, like if there's a one-make with BoP enabled. (Though I think the way BoP works is that it makes your car act as if it's entirely stock, when it's not in Gr.3, Gr.1, and so on.) I also wonder how high I could get the power just with the stock engine - could it end up being around 600 PP on Sport Softs?

Just buy another one next time she is available.
 
Klaxon alert: This week's Daily A being at Blue Moon Infield B means that, after a grand total of 1,305 days, PD have finally used every layout (ignoring reverse layouts) in some kind of event in GT7.

Prior to today, they'd literally never used it in either direction. No singleplayer World Circuits events, no Dailies, no time trials, no GTWS, no circuit experience, no Missions.
 
It's worth noting that, because Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve was originally found as Scapes data in the files, it's pretty likely that it is at least part of the "New Curations in Scapes" point listed in the Spec III content list.
Whether there will be some for Yas Marina, or any non-circuit locations, is an unknown.

Though the Albert Park Scapes data that was found alongside Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve is highly unlikely to show up in Spec III, or at all unless/until the track gets added with it, which itself is an unknown.

I got to give volt on youtube some credit, many of the things he doing i think is just to create hype, and just a lot of speculations, without any proof to back it up, but he said spec lll was coming weeks before it got revealed at state of play,

Well, his list is a mix of datamined cars, some GT related cars like the Pebble Beach winners and rumors like Renault Espace F1. So it's not unreliable after all

But, PD works in mysterious ways. Who would expect Opel make a comeback with VGT lol

Given that there was no proof or evidence of a Spec III until Wednesday, this too was "just a lot of speculations". Even a stopped (analogue) clock is right twice a day...

We've got posts here about a potential Spec III dating back to 2023 (and a lot pointing to late-2024). Were they all in-the-know too, or speculating?

Alternatively, the Pro update could be a part of a rumored “Spec III” patch which will, like “Spec II” in November 2023, bring changes throughout the game as well as some new content for players to get to grips with.

Some WIP screens of Gran Turismo 7 Extended Package, a "find a random thing to do" program I'm working on.

The car images are from the official Gran Turismo 7 car list, I don't own them. This program will be free, and there are no links to, or suggestions for donations in the program.

The custom race settings for these events are small modifications upon a base settings list that's linked at the start of the program, and once entered in-game, you can save it and load the same settings for every custom race.

From there, only small modifications are needed, like laps, setting it to random custom weather or specified preset weather, time of day, and one-make/select from garage if the event requires it.

These per-event modifications will be in a separate clickable link within that specific "thing to do" screen in the final version.

Am I the only one who thinks there will be some minimal update before Spec III?
If the State of Play is to be believed by calling the Spec III update "1.64", then there shouldn't be.
However I have heard that some smaller details like that can get overlooked or be inaccurate, so there is still a chance. Just not much of one.


If we're keeping track of update-related social media posts still, there was one for the new Scapes yesterday too.
