@Jordan thats your next “branch” to your site: ”GT Plant” Forget cars & coffee, get your green thumb on while talking all things automobile. 👍

Oh, and welcome McLaren s baron! :gtpflag:
Don't worry about his jokes @mclarens baron, some people think his delivery is wooden and the jokes stem from a bygone era, personally I pine to hear more even if they are rooted in the wrong decade and can sound a bit creeper sometimes.

GT Plant could mean car plant 🤔
Maybe they're not shipping Playstation disks but real cars (well, apart from the Vision cars that arent real)...? :sly:

Oh yes I forgot that aspect. A feature more intented towards casual players/non car nuts then I guess.
Alot of GT7 seems to be casual friendly, those "learn more" showing up in every menu. But this is just expanding on what GT1 did, that game had a info section for all the cars.
The Real School Simulator

Where did you get the September or October date from? that's not in the article, which just retreads what was already posted here.
Ahh, rectomancy.
The whole thing whiffs so hard of ass it's like it was just yanked right out of a sphincter. Still, anything to look big on the internet, eh?

Edit: adding to Samus and Auditore posts

Yep. Especially when he said this about returning players:

“But, through the GT Café now, players will collect and discover all these unique and fantastic cars from around the world. I am really looking forward to having a new generation of players really experience that and fall in love with the genre.”

Having said all of that, Yamauchi acknowledged how that might come across to franchise’s long-term, hard-core fans, and directly acknowledged recent criticisms. “Some of the core users of Gran Turismo might feel a lot of this stuff that’s appearing in the game to be kind of redundant and explaining too much. There will be characters appearing in car dealerships, in the tuning shops, and at the races, explaining all these different things to them, and I’m sure some of them will be like ‘Oh, just skip all this, we don’t need this’.

“But I want them to kind of remember the feeling they had when they first started playing these games, when they first discovered all of these things for themselves, and imagine how this will get across to the new generation.”

Yeah, PlayStation.com.au reads as Release date and granturismo.com reads as Planned release date.

I've given up trying to find a PS5 for now and can only hope that they become more-available in Australia before GT7 drops.

Didn't want to start a thread asking for tips 'cause I don't want to impose just for this, but I'm pretty sure the advice will be to monitor a bunch of stores, sign up to them, fill out shipping details and whatnot so I'm at-the-ready to jump in pronto. Not prepared to do that 'cause it's not my thing / M.O. and the whole scenario of trying to get your hands on one here sounds ridiculous quite frankly. I don't do social media so I'd be at a disadvantage 'cause it sounds like peeps rely on notifications therefrom and clear the stock in minutes.

If anyone has a heads-up on where I can at least put a deposit down and get into a queue, I'm all-ears and will be eternally-grateful.

It's only for GT7 obviously. :gtpflag:

Try going to an actual JB Hi-fi store. I've had a couple of friends do this (getting on the list). They did have to pay up front for them though, but it was at recommended retail price. I don't know if all JB stores does this but the one near us does.

I was looking for a ps5 like you then remembered that forza 8 is probably releasing this year as well. If you're not a die hard fan of playstation or gt I'd say get gt7 on ps4 and wait for forza 8 to release that way you can compare which one is better. Most playstation exclusives this year are releasing on ps4 as well like gt7 and god of war.

I don't have a PS4 mate; still on GT6 'cause I skipped GTS altogether.

Also, I'm a die-hard GT fan (of the "conventional" series), so there's that.

Good thinking 'though; I really appreciate your trying to help.

May have to do some more Google magic, but try and find if there's a technology specific forum, or a store product tracker type website for your region. I was able to get a system around this time last year for my son by looking at the tips/patterns people would discuss on there. There will probably be a couple failed attempts still, but it will help you better your chances at one in-store perhaps!

Yeah, I've checked that out, thanks.

The M.O. is exactly what I was talking about re social-media routes. You have to be at-the-ready and immediately-contactable for it to work.

I don't do SM and don't have a mobile 'phone, so unless I'm at the computer in the music room at the right time I'd be SOL, making my chances of success slim-to-none.

Thank you for trying to help man; I appreciate the suggestion.

Luck is what got me one. This was back in August though, but yeah, luck is what you need I’m afraid, on top of monitoring stores as you said.

Hello racers !
Of course, I red the latest pages of this thread, but you can imagine I didn't read the 300 pages !
So, soon we will be able to play GT7, that seems to be a GT Sport able to play at 120fps... with few tracks added.
I will not talk about the "single player" without internet connection here, because it's not my part, I always play online.
So, because it seems to be a better GT SPORT, I think I can like it, I like GT Sport vehicule physics, it is realistic enough for me, the trees apart... the livery editor... it's really a great game for online racing and I love it !
But ! You forget to talk about all the bugs of GT Sport, that are not still solved 4 years after its launch.
And when you play Online it's a problem, lets list the major bugs that are not still solved today.

About the lobbies :
- Everybody know the "pit bug", when you are in the pit, and when some drivers after pressing throttle, the cars become crazy and are crushing in the pit walls. Most of the time, after a host reset via a track condition/hour change, it solve the problem. But if it happens in a qualification mode, it's messed up !
But you can be forced to leave the lobby and come back if it continues after a track reset ! Bug never solved !

- The same situation appears with some launched starts, after the race start, some cars are becoming crazy, doing little rounds, and blocking every racers that are behind ! Bug never solved !

- The "cars that are locked on grid at start", when you stay locked and can do anything else than leave the race ! Bug never solved !

These 3 bugs are maybe in relation with the internet connections quality, that's what you will maybe say. But when 8 or 9 cars have the "pit bug" at the same time in a lobby, it's a more a problem of synchronization, and why it persists after a reset ?

There are things that are impossible to explain why they are still here in GT Sport :
- The way we have to erase penalties, with this forced transparency, with a good example RedBull Ring : if a racer behind you get a penalty in the very last lap, or in the very first one, he will be able in in 2nd turn, to brake lately, crossing you by transparency while he's erasing his penalty ! That's crazy !

Don't you ask yourself if these "bugs" and bad penalties "management" will be still here on GT7 ? Because it's a problem.

In time trial mode Online and Offline and with the attempts in qualification mode for daily races :
- There is a bug that kills my motivation : After I did few laps to get a good laptime, I leave the track to save my best one.
When I come back to load this laptime, there is a bug, it is never synchronized with the start I do each lap. I checked ghost settings but there is no way, it is really a bug. So, when there is a new world time trial, I have to do a new best laptime every session I do. Bug never solved !

Will it be the same in GT7 ? Mr Yamauchi is doing videos and interviews... but who asked him this question : Are these bugs solved in GT7 OR NOT ?
You maybe don't know I lost few months last year to do youtube videos with the bugs and report them on Kaz Yamauchi Twitter ! I made more then 35 videos with the bugs... and ask him everytime to solve these bugs. NEVER ANY ANSWER !

Some things are not logic and I never had any answer from Mr Yamauchi :
- Why when the racers are voting for example Dragon Trail Seaside, the result is always 10h00 ? There is no draw in the multiple hours/track conditions that are available ! Now, because of this, the players are so used to the "nice weather" track condition that they are unhappy when you set it to a less common used hour/track condition ! So, the most part of the time, we are racing everytime with the same hour/track condition per track ! It's a pity. Will it be the same on GT7 ?

- Can Mr Yamauchi explain us what is the relevance of a World Time Trial with a Tomahawk on the Nurb ? A "Real Driving Simulation" experience ?

- On a recent World Time Trial on a Tokyo track, there was a bug with the way the penalties for a wall contact were applied ! Every latime were faked, but nobody was able to correct it and it remained as it was ! And this problem appears very often these last 4 years !

It seems that the daily races are like the result of an AI draw of a lotery, nothing really serious ! Will it be the same with GT7 ?

...and I'm a gentleman, I didn't talk about the other things that are not logic, or missing... or about the way some players are using the game, like with the controversial use of the "reversed grid" parameter that became a fashion...

Can somebody ask Mr Yamauchi if everything I described will be solved with GT7 ?
Because if it is the same game as GT Sport with few graphic improvements and 4 or 5 more tracks and all the bugs or illogical features, why to choose it ? (Sorry for my poor English)

Yup, this is what I keep hearing.

I've always been ready for each new iteration of GT on day 1 but held out this time thinking that by the time March comes 'round the PS5 supply issue would've been fixed. :banghead:

I don't think it's an issue that can be fixed. Semi-conductor shortages aside, it's a very popular console at a reasonable price.

PC hardware for once isn't really an alternative, due to gaming video cards being omgwtf expensive because of crypto. Once upon a time you could reasonably choose between a $700 console or spending $700 to upgrade whatever potato PC you had, which is what I did for the PS4 generation. But $700 gets you a 3060 if you're lucky these days. You get better value for buying a PS5, and when everyone wants one it's very hard to scale production up far enough.

Sony is probably happy running their factories at 100% and selling every unit they make. It's still the fastest selling Playstation, so it's probably outperformed whatever targets they might have had for sales.

All true brother; thank you.

No comfort for we peeps who're hanging out for the console 'though.

I'd like to think that either production will ramp up or a redesign (slim / pro) that circumvents or ameliorates the supply hinderances will magically occur between now and March or around about that time. Naively perhaps, I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for this...

I've more or less resigned myself to the fact that I probably can't get the game day 1. I'm hoping I'll be able to play a little anyway with mates that have PS4s and PS5s, but otherwise it'll happen when it happens. Realistically I'm probably in line for a redesign as well, I can't see me caring enough to go hunting for one.

I hope it happens before they brick GTS though, I wouldn't mind playing through it now that it has all it's content. For $10 it seems like great value, my expectations are pretty low for a price like that.

I don't really understand this sentimate after having played a ton of GTS. I'm about as die hard as you (perhaps not because I'd rather not acknowledge the standard car era) but GTS has easily been the best feeling GT driving wise of all GTs to date.

As I said, I'm a huge fan of the "conventional" series; simple as that, really.

When I saw what was being offered at the outset I was peeved and set about letting my feelings on the matter be known. I held out hope that we'd see a return to the game I love and thankfully this is what's happening.

I'd expect the driving experience to have been better in GTS, as it is with each new iteration, but I put my money where my mouth was, so to speak, so no PS4 and no GTS. I'd like to think that it's partly thanks to peeps like me who were demonstrably-opposed to the "change in direction" and forewent all spending thereon that we're about to experience the "real thing" again.

I'm with you 100% on everything you said mate. 👍
