Yeah that tells everything. People like meme cars and sport cars.

The worst additions are those boring crossovers suvs. They are not fun to drive, not funny etc.

Not sure if it's just me, but I'm having a hell of a time loading liveries tonight. Almost every single one fails to load at least once. They're also slow to load in the GT Auto showroom.
It's happen to me a lot since (I think) update 1.49, though people here has said this has happened way before that. Nobody knows what causes it sadly.

It's quite network-dependent, so have you tried optimising your home network for online play?

I see...admittedly the Wi-Fi reception in my room is pretty terrible (mediocre at best) and although I do have a LAN cable it really loves cutting out the connection often (it's either a modem thing or the cable itself, I don't really know).

Thanks for the information though, I'll see what I could do.

Brands Hatch just popped up on my Facebook feed to let me know they have just completed some resurfacing work.
In the interests of accuracy I hope Polyphony are planning to do the same :lol::lol:

Well guys, i don't want to make a new thread on this. But let me ask:

Why i feel that the drift physics on GT7 are wrong?!
I've learn how to drift on GT5P on Eager, what a great track. (I'm not new to GTP, 'Ive just lost my old account, btw).
The thing is, i've spent a lot of time playing AC and Dirt Rally 2.0. And drift on AC feels so... Natural.

While on GT7 i need to try combinations of tyres, maybe change LSD. And when the front "bites" and gets grip is so violent and hard to maintain the drift.

Is it me or the game really needs to work on that?

Since I've just tried playing around with Sophy Custom Races ... is there any way to get Sophy to use the tyres that the cars in my garage are actually on??

It seems it always only uses each car's default tyres.

Those of us that play around/live life in Custom Races been waiting for three years and no fix. We’ll see if this update addresses that.

Really enjoyed that circuit. If I recall, that track was bumpy. Imagine all the tyres that would get stuck under front fenders.

The drift physics worked fine for me back then, to get more drifting out of a car, I have the TCS set anywhere from 0-2. If you have it set at 3-5, it will make the car more stabilized and you won't be able to drift a lot. Is crucial for the drifting missions of gt7. I don't think the tires have any affect on drifting, but maybe you can ask a professional for this question. Good luck.

🤔

Hang on...I have a DTM custom Sophy race (among others). I populated it with the cars from my garage, which I tweak for balance, and I have them all set to RH tires. I don't adjust my car's balance at all. I run what I have. Boost set to weak.

I would be shocked to find that these cars are running on their default tires, which would be SH or CS. So, I'm surprised to hear that there is an issue. I busted my butt in the race I posted, which is why I saved the replay. Are you telling me I was ENORMOUSLY advantaged?

I don't think you can as an option, the Sophy cars don't change their tires. But you can customize/change them(medium, soft, hard, wets,or intermediates) in your garage for any car though.

The cars are all on SS tyres in my garage. In the race, Sophy races them on the default tyre (anything from CH to SH).

@Famine Well some cars can oversteer/spin out if I have TCS at 0 and that would mess up the drift session. That's why I use caution and have TCS at 1-3 depending on the class of car and different models. However it is not an issue with Rally cars, (Ford Focus Gr B) for one.

This cannot be true. I went and tried my DTM Sophy race again. All the cars set to RH in my garage. The Merc EVO, the Sierra, and the M3 Evo.

There is no way that I am on RH tires, while the rest are on their default. It doesn't make sense that the Sophy cars would use every other settings adjustment (weight, suspension, gearing, power, etc.) but not tires. There's no way.

Racing tyres are the exception to this rule, but it works like that for anything below racing.
I think a garage road car on racing tyres makes the AI default to RH only.

@Theufcveteran will probably know exactly how it works. It's something like that, it's a right pain.

Yeah, players that want to run treaded road tyres are stuck with mixed compounds.

It’s true. The AI, regular and Sophy, will use any settings applied no problem except for tyres.

The AI will only use the following tyres for road cars:

Vehicle default or Racing: Hard if applied to a car you have assigned to an AI.

And for racing cars on tarmac, in dry conditions:

Group B/4/3: Racing: Hard

Group 2/1: Racing: Medium

Any racing car that comes with tyres softer than Racing: Hard, such as the Super Formula cars, will only use their vehicle default tyres. In the Super Formula’s case, it’s Racing: Soft.

For all racing cars, even if their starting tyres are hards or mediums, when moving from a wet tyre to a dry tyre in a pit stop, they will equip Racing: Soft tyres.

I think this is a long standing bug that’s never been addressed.

As for wet conditions, the AI in racing cars will use Intermediates and Wets correctly depending on the intensity of the surface water.

To clarify an edge case: This happens regardless of whether you're a racing car or not.

The Ferrari VGT, which is tagged #Road Car and runs RM stock, will continue to run RM even if you load it with RH.

Thanks for confirming! I do hope they fix it but at this point I don’t have much hope given how long it’s persisted for.

I wonder what the next Extra Menu motif could be? I would not be surprised if we got one focused on the SUVs/cross-overs from Toyota, Mazda, and Honda. Or maybe one for commercial vehicles, featuring the Renault Kangoo, Mercedes-Benz Unimog, and the Suzuki Carry.
