It smells like a lot more positivism is floating around. It's good that a racing game is focusing more in racing in general and less on economy-oriented family cars...
You can pry my Qashqai from my cold dead hands.

The community in general, or at least the ones I am around in, seem to be very happy that we've had two steps in the right direction for the competitive folk.

In my opinion, it doesn't mean that we have to set the family cars aside. Those are also part of what makes GT feel like GT, they may not be very helpful to us, now that we are at a point where we may be mostly playing with late game machinery, but those kinds of cars are nonetheless part of the process of playing Gran Turismo.

I don’t think it has to be one or the other. I think it's nice that PD seems to be changing their content focus to actually serve both sides: modern race cars for people who live in Sport Mode, and road cars that still fit the "car culture" side of the game. It feels more balanced instead of leaning too hard into museum pieces or too hard into race-only content.

Still ignoring the origins of the Franchise I see. My Mazda CX-30 X Smart Edition and Peugeot SUV 2008 Allure are serving me just fine.

The word Gran Turismo when translated into English is "Grand Tour" and dates to when wealthy tourists used to travel Italy at a leisurely pace.

Anyway, back to the update. 3 good additions and nothing in the Legends or Used dealerships. Should also not be anything expensive this time around 👍

just not in econoboxes, SUVs and grossery haulers.

some people have a REALLY hard time to understand that you can have both.

I'd rather see them give us more creative sport modes like team lobby racing, or multi-class races, or a better single player experience instead of disgraceful cafe menus & trash drip feeding of cars that were mostly in the game on release.

Better yet put an in game request feature so 99.9% of the player base that are responsible for the continuation of this franchise can communicate with polyphony, instead of them sucking up to the .1% eSports players that nobody knows about, or cares about.

They need to spend less time jerking it with streamers in their WhatsApp groups, constantly promoting the eSports trash & more time connecting with the side of the player base that is the reason they even still exist as a franchise.

This game takes itself way too seriously & is absolutely devoid of any real creativity or engaging modes. Power pack was an embarrassment & even GTA had more engaging FREE drip fed content for 10 years straight than what Polyphony have given us, so the "but it's free" excuse doesn't even work.

GTA free content? Beside the part where you would have to play 24h 365d to unlock only half of the content, btw you ask for very serious features, that are not possible to implement due PS4 limitations, and then you say that pd takes the game too serious, have a nice day

I don't think I said "we", nor did I say know/knew:

I just asked if it would be helpful to the discussion if I said that it is.

If it helps any further, as far as I'm aware - and I'm sure others may know more than I do - it is, and it's the car at the front-right of shot (the other two are - again, as far as I'm aware - the 2022 GT3 R [not the 2026 season Evo revealed in August] and 2022 Elantra N TCR) under a tarp that doesn't fully show off some of the precise details and lines - but what it does show seems just fine to me.

I can see the point about the ADAS pod, but the proportion looks fine for the angle it's at (and besides the car has been through a couple of iterations so it may have changed; there's a variant with big hood scoops as you'll see below) as it gets rapidly narrower the further way from dead-on you get. The dark line on the nose that's getting some attention appears to just be a reflection or a lighting glitch, as it follows the perpendicular crease almost through its middle.

I recall saying back last May/June that I wouldn't expect it before November/December, so that wasn't a bad guess really.

Thanks for posting the composite of the real car and the sheet, as I just couldn't get my head around what looked like a 'grille' crease like Toyota and Honda have moved towards. 👍

Countless GT cars would want to have a word...

Like this one for example :

I know we have a Demio, but it's not the Demio. I miss that A-Spec so much.

You know, I might be one of the few players who likes road and race cars equally. Of course you can and should have your preferences, but I mean, if you're really passionate for cars, I think you shouldn't completely dismiss one in favor of another, and I do see a lot of people behaving like this.

There are some valid complaints in this but they all get lost among the emotional exaggerations

The game has an incredible set of tools, visuals and an excellent roster of cars, but the structures we have to use them in are shallow on a good day

We do have a Suggestions Sub-Forum in here that PD keeps an eye on (allegedly), does not serve the entire community, but GTP is a good sample on the entire community's current mood

Here’s hoping that it really is the Porsche 911 (992) GT3 R, especially with Porsche’s generally robust presence in motorsport. Sure, the RSR is nice but I think we’re quite a ways past the GTE era. However, there may be a few exceptions regarding GTE racers, such as if Lotus makes a return, but I digress.
I just don't like the RSR's lack of straight line pace, worse when BoP is applied. I even find it difficult to use in single-player WTC 800 events (I mostly use stock Gr.3s for fun on Hard difficulty) mainly because of that weakness, concerning the Viper Gr.3 has 678 HP at its disposal and it's placed far too distant in the rolling start grid. No problem doing that in a stock 296 GT3.

I mean, it's probably the worst car to use in WTC 800 events, given that without BoP I believe it's the GT3 car with the least power and the one that all the others are BoP'd to. (Just checking, it is indeed the least powerful GT3 car, but the Super GT cars and M3 GT in Gr.3 have less... Whatever)

How many events do you think we will get??

I predict a WTC 700 a WTC 800 and a Hypercar Parade with 2 events being on the 2 newest tracks like:

WTC 800 at Montreal
Hypercar Parade at Yas Marina
WTC 700 at Monza or Daytona road

I like both but tend to gravitate toward race cars. But that doesn’t matter. The one thing I don’t understand is people who ignore either.
That said, GT is a racing (and car collecting) game. That’s where the folks who shun race cars lose me. Racing is the only type of driving the game offers. It isn’t an open world game built for cruising the streets. I guess you can tool around in time trial mode, but that’s not quite the same thing.

The Porsche 911 GT3 R might be a little more expensive as it has some historic value as it was the champion of FIA WEC and IMSA in 2024, and is also the first Le Mans-winning FIA GT3 (it won its class twice).

Same with the Elantra TC(TCR) with it's champion pedegree. I was thinking it'd be the first modern Gr.4 car more than 350,000 Cr. The Alfa 155 is the most expensive at 600-650k?
We'll see. Might just be the normal 350,000 Cr.

Should also be noted that this is almost certainly the most unique Gr.3 car they could add, as it is RR which nothing else in the class is, so it will be its own driving experience nothing on the current roster replicates.

This isn't a case of "it looks different but BoP will make it drive the same as the older one so what's the point".
Holy moly, geez... Until now, I never realized that RSR has mid-engine layout! 🤯 How my brain ignored that for so many years?! I thought it's classic RR Porsche...

RSR is MR due to Porsche wanting to install a larger rear diffuser which was allowed by the GTE rules back then. They struggled against their mid-engined rivals like the 488 and the Ford GT; hence initiating the change in layout.

In the realms of GT Sport and 7, the RSR was a very well balanced car and competitive under BoP, but completely helpless without. It's a car suited for all skill levels.

Now with the rear-engined GT3 R coming in, along with more power, it should be faster on paper. But I have read comments of ACC players struggling with it, especially stability under braking (which, even GT7's 991 GT3 RS suffers with); we can only wait and see how PD makes it viable for the larger, casual player base.

I believe they will add…

- Sophy compatibility for at least 1 track (i really hope so as I only do quick races with Sophy, the only exception being Eiger Nordwand)

- Hyundai museum update
I think PD is holding Sophy updates to finish Sophy 3.0.

We didn’t get any sophy uodates in last few months.

And Sophy 3.0 was only in Power Pack. My theory is it was shipped with Power Pack only because it wasn’t ready for all cars and new tracks. I wouldn’t be surprised if we still won’t get new Sophy updates and we will get big Sophy 3.0 for all update later this year.

If there's one thing on my mind on the update, is how they're going to upload the dynamic replays of the 2025 GTWS Grand Finals, more specifically the first Manufactures Round at Daytona. How are they going to upload something that has been red-flagged and restarted once?

Hope not, considering it has significantly worse lines and racecraft than 2.0.

Also, like I mentioned somewhere before, the 911 GT3 R should provide a morale boost to Porsche in the Manufacturers' Cup, making them the favorites for this season given they are the defending champions.
