PD make the cars more enjoyable thanks to a tyre that behaves like a real tyre, and all those who've manipulated the tuning to make the car feel like one are up in arms that the devs can actually make a road car feel enjoyable by default.
I can't feel anything with the new physics - just feels like you're floating round.

I've only tried 600pp events with sport mediums though, maybe they haven't trashed race tires as much?

It might be interesting for a minute. Then again the lower tiers are their own frustration. Also it feels like I barely have any free time. Sometimes hard to even find motivation to play anything at all. And when I do, I'm kinda playing whatever I feel in the moment. GT7, and all the entries before it, really are a solo experience for me. I really enjoy it. Not to mention Sophy makes for a great offline competitor. Could be a little faster, or ideally an adjustable scale, and some tweaks for weird behavior.

I should've said in my previous post that I imagine many of the competitive online players get frustrated with an update like this because it shakes up the game. To some people that's great; others who maybe feel like they've practiced and made their way to the towards the top and start to feel somewhat comfortable and confident, might take it as having to start all over. Some will view it as a new challenge, learning the weird quirks and intricacies of the new handling model and how to exploit them 🤷‍♂️
Without much free time plus a break from playing online is a bad spot to be in. Same with any game. I reached diamond rank in Rocket League a few years ago. If I play that again now i'll be terrible at it and irritate others on the team.
Much like with GT7. Reached A+ rank using a T300 wheel about 2 years ago. Then switched to WRC and played that online until the Powerpack came out. Treated myself to an RS50 and got the Powerpack completed, then yesterday I fired up sport mode to get back into it.
Did a few quali laps for race C and I need to find another 1.5-2 seconds unless I want to be placed at the back of the grid. Just means grinding quali laps out for a while. My driving technique clearly used to be good enough, but with this physics change I think I need to trailbrake a lot less and coast a lot less as well if I want to stay at this level.
Looking forward to LMU though, ACC never gelled with me so I'm hoping LMU will offer a decent sim experience on PS5.

Sorry, am I the only one who sees this???? The article’s title was changed from “Mixed Reviews” to “Enthusiastic Reviews”? And yet the reviews are split 50/50!!!
Such thing can happen when more reviews and opinions are coming in.

Can we see what statistical data the article was renamed based on?
It's probably based on sentiments in this topic so you can scroll through the 36 pages here.

I’ve looked through all of them, and I can say that the reviews are split in half. It feels like the article distorts the players’ sentiments.

Many negative early reviewers have changed their view after more playing. It is very clear trend if you follow GT youtubers for example..

Gran Turismo 7 Players Have Big Feelings About New Physics

... and the revision history shows no post-publication edits to the title at all, yes, yes you are.
I’m also wondering why I’m the only one who noticed this.
I'd guess that you're not viewing it in its native English but translating it into English through your browser.

I want to participate in the discussion related to the latest update, and the physics update as well. Yeah, it definitely holds two departments in terms of, "(do you like it), (or do you not like it)". Personally, I was excited about it, when it was officially announced. And I'm really liking the new psychics update. Now after a week playing, all the cars now drive fantastic. A combination between my driving style, and the grib we now have, is exactly what I like. It now have that natural feel, sensation, the braking, turning in to the apex, and then accelerate, coming on the throttle now, without rear tyres spinning is great, just like real life. Though, some road cars still have it, but again it feels much more natural, i feel like I'm able to control it now. The Gr.4, Gr.3, Gr.2, and Gr.1 cars are also great to drive now, very enjoyable.
Haven't drivin' the Rally cars that much, but it was okay, not great. It definitely has something weird going on, where it felt like someone other than myself, tried to countersteer. But I think it could be down to setup, suspension, and Diff.
I'm a pad user, next year will mark 30 years of experience for using the controller. It could be a reason why I am adapting this well to the new update. Overall, from a personal point of view, this is the best psychics GT7 has ever had.
I didn't like the psychics we had before, didn't like the low level of grip, the skidding and sliding around, having to do artificial stuff to compensate.
Now it feels real life like. Of course this is subjective, but if you'd ask me, that's what I would say. So my rating is 10/10.

The article's title has never included any of those words and has not changed since publication.

About the CSL DD PRO FFB issue where the wheel goes to "death spin" and stops working. Just remembered the GT7 controller "vibration strenght" setting used to be broken in T-GT, so that you lost the T-DFB after a while if you used max 150 setting. Just starting to test if setting it lower helps, but shared the idea right away to anyone having the issue. Testing if I lower the "vibration strenght" and rise "fullforce" from the base.

Edit.. nope, its all Fanatec..

probably good to keep it lower than max on both game and wheel side - I would think wheel side caps game side level and just clips like w FFB but at this point its not known as to whether game + base FUL levels are additive or not

Keep the base from overload by limiting combination of any input: FFB and Full Force

And in game sensitivity can have an effect - running 9-10 can produce very quick torque ramp up on the base side which can also contribute

Its weird as it doesnt seem to care how much torque you use. I guess its just something in the signal processing.

I also feel like they janked up fuel mileage/tank size for quite a few of the GR.3 cars.
example: bone stock mustang GR.3 pre patch: 8 laps at the nurburgring full circuit with a pit on lap 8 with about .5 of a lap remaining in the tank.
Corvette GR.3: bone stock: 8 laps at the ring full circuit with about .4 of a lap remaining of fuel.

Both of which were used pre patch at the N24 DLC race.

Post Patch:
Neither of these can complete 8 laps from the dealer any more. I can't figure out how to get them going 8 laps on FM 1. I have to go to FM 2 or higher to make up the gap. I've messed with gear ratios, aero, even settings that shouldn't have a measurable impact like making sure I've got the LSD set up right so I'm not burning fuel spinning the tires.
I simply cannot make either of these cars run 8 laps stock. Can't get there modified either but that's besides the point.

If I want to use either of these cars in that DLC race now I've got to mod them to be fast enough that even if I'm pitting 1-2 laps before everyone else I'm faster enough to not lose time overall. That doesn't make for fun racing. All that does is turn the 24 hours into a math problem that 100% has a solution that is easily found. You'll blow past everyone until you stop then they'll pass you and then you blow past everyone. It's not racing it's two completely different races in one. Functionally turns it into Multi-Class where I'm cosplaying as the prototype trying to win against the GT3 field.

Accelerating out of a turn is a step backward in the new physics in relation to the tire slip angle — that’s almost a direct quote from a well‑known YouTuber.

If you watch, you'll know who I'm talking about.

Can you post the statistical data you are based on? Im also curious

It’s strange that the browser translates the article title differently, even though it hasn’t been changed…

Well, back in the days Sebastien Loeb was saying the same about the Pescarolo in GT4.
While I don't remember what Loeb said, for me the Pescarolo 2004 was obviously the best car apart from the formula 2004 in GT4.

Don’t care.

Accelerating from corners feels good, and more realistic than before. Subsequently, it’s a lot more fun. Which is what really matters.

From A youtuber. Yes reviews are still mixed, but its clearly growing on people. And still I think a bit too much grip in the racing tires makes it worse in gr3.

A bit less grip, a bit more curve to slip angle and a bit less understeery bop setups would go a long way. What I currently like is how grip works over the curbs. You really have to feel which and when curbs are usable. Makes you also consider your passes more, as you cant get away with curbs/grass so easy..

Is there any way to get the all the cars' correct PP listing post update without having to select each one for a race to "reset" them one by one?

So, does that mean the article is biased and distorts the players’ sentiments?

All articles have bias.

But Jordan’s audience is GT Planet, not the clickbaity world of YouTube.

Racing drivers > YouTube Sim racers generally too.
I think you understand perfectly well that there are quite talented YouTubers. If you don't understand this, I'm sorry.

1 racing drvier with some connections to PD (was on past events) ;)

I just wanted to clarify: it’s not like racing drivers suddenly started playing GT7 after the patch and praising its amazing physics 😅

the article says the opposite

Sorry for being boring.
