As much as it sounds like a great idea, I doubt PD can make something like this, it's just not PD style, plus I love PD and all but they will mess something like this.

Playground's website says that they support all platforms. :)

Let me tell you somethings:
1st.
Gran Turismo can't do anything because GT is the name of the game that PD created!
2nd. Forza Horizon is unrealistic game for children just like Need for Speed
3rd. PD will never do crab like this!

I honestly hope PD doesn't waste their time making a game like this. They desperately need to work on the major issues of their main series instead. And can you leave the elitist sim racer attitude at the door? There's nothing wrong with carefree racing games like Horizon, even though it's more realistic than people think. It sure doesn't belong in the same category as NFS.

Yeah they need to do make a game like this but the problem is that can't get it right. Heck, Horizon can't even get it right. Good but not great. Anyone that has been in the car gaming and real car culture for years and years knows the immediate flaws. That is when we know that these d bags in higher places than us do not deserve to be up there. Are we still that gullible to fall for what these developers say? Yes we sure are because the experience racing gamers are a dying breed and probably moved on to life rather than being around battling with the sheeple and know nothing developers. Now the sheeple will just clap their hands to anything that Dan and Kaz has to say.

You forgot 4: They'd probably screw it up anyway by forcing you to drive the speed limit or follow all road signs or not drive on roads with too many letters in the street name or something.

What are you talking about? What did Horizon not get right?

Horizon is a good game! It's the little details that adds up. I don't like their lack in customizations and how the online livery is broken and never fixed. I like to see more options in everything especially in car customizations. I know to die hard GT fans they don't care or know just how important car personalization is because they have been stuck in GT for years and years. They did get the main things right just like FM did. Great chase cam, hood cam, cockpit, sounds etc...If only they fixed the online and keep up with today's car culture would be sweet. I mean there is no one out there in t10 group participating and taking notes to what is hot or not? It does not seem like it and it does not seem like their staff has had years of playing racing games and gaining experience from it. They are like in a big bubble compared to Kaz with a smaller bubble. Please excuse my poor explanation.

@Mazyata

The customization was far from lacking, compared to literally any racing game, although what it needs is an update. I'm tired of the same rims and the same kits that we've had for.. how long now?

What is exactly hot right now? Stance is really big, that would fit more in Horizon rather then Motorsport, but still, its widely hated as well. Other then that, what else is current? Every other "car culture" has been around forever, and really, there isn't anything new.

With the implementation of the Rally expansion, I would say that they are indeed learning and trying new things. Hopefully we see more expansions like that.

I remember watching na interview when Kaz was asked about doing something like Horizon, and Kaz replied that it would be interesting to make, although, he was undecided about trying it or not...

I think Kaz by nature would make it Clubsport career based and not bro-fest like Horizon. Rather than rush GT for PS4, I'd be more than happy for them to spin off games on PS3 such as that or another Tourist Trophy.

Heh, horizon was one of the best games I've ever played. (I tend to be overly serious about racing, and horizon forced me to just have fun for once.) But if PD tried to make that, well...let's list the problems!

1)They would blatantly be copying Forza.
2)They would do something totally weird with it. You know the odd jazzy menu music? Now imagine a game revolving partly around jazzy porno music from the 1970's. Yeah.
3)It would split their time between two franchises. These people can't handle ONE, don't give them more!

Now, I love GT, PD, and FH (and abbreviations!), but this is just not something that could ever possibly work, at least with PD at the helm. Even Forza had to outsource the development of Horizon to Playground.

But...it would certainly be the funniest thing I've ever seen...so maybe...maybe...

I would be happy with something like Forza Horizon for the Playstation, it didn´t had to be from PD, and no, NFS is not the same!

The thing is racing games in general or lately does not seem to be keeping up to real life. Of course these things in real life has been around but I am talking about applying real life to games. A game like FH yes I would expect more towards the customizations compared to FM. You can't even make your cars look like the ones real life ones they show in their FH advertisements. I will admit that there some personal reasons that got in the way with me like M$, DLC, microtransactions, and now not being able to simply use a wheel unless you spend almost half a grand for one.

They are still slow and still behind and if you had a hand in it you know you would keep it current and not dated. Customizations and options is extremely important to me and too bad in the videogame world is lacking while in the real world we keep on progressing. I still believe we need some fresh heads in these places because these people like Dan and Kaz walks around like their poop don't stink and they know what's up.

One is a closed circuit race, the other is a Free Roaming world, how does that seem the same?

I know it doesn't have free roam, but concept wise, it seems the same. Screeenshots like this reminded me of Horizon immediately:

The only similarities I see is the fact they spin arround supercars and sport cars, whilst other racing games have, well... Racecars. This and FH are those games where you get to appreciate the driving of a supercar outsider the racetrack.

Concept wise? what concept are you looking into, because the only similarities is that they both have cars

The atmosphere and setting looks similar to Horizon's. You have scenic locations, crowds of people watching by the sidelines, and banners decorating the track.

Ok, but like I said, going by what the game actually is(and going by what you said about concept), its not the same at all.

It does give a feel and to be honest thats what I thought it was at first. Good thing we arent going off just images, because if you get that from the image and go play the game, you'd expect something totally different probably ending in disappointment. Not because the game sucks, but because you bought it expecting it to be free roam like Horizon.

Just because of that? So by that, Dirt 3, Grid 2 and a bunch of other games are like FH/Driveclub aswell. They also have scenic locations, crowds watching by the barriers and banners decorating the track.

I'm just going to say I'm not the only one who got a Forza Horizon vibe from Driveclub and just leave it at that.

I think it looks really good, it's going to be similar to Forza Horizon but hopefully a lot better.

DriveClub may very well be the "Forza Horizon" to Gran Turismo 6's "Forza.

To me it's looking very much like Forza Horizon when it comes to setting and general gameplay but without all the childish, gharish festival bro stuff.

Basically this is Forza Horizon for PS4.
Which is not a bad idea.

Well everyone has their opinions... I see nothing but a similar "atmosphere" in terms of the game beeing circled arround super and sports car, but that´s it. I wouldn´t necessarly cal it "Playstation´s Forza Horizon".

It's PS4's Horizon minus the main aspect that Horizon is based on, it's free roaming environment. Either way, we were talking about the concept of the games, what they actually are, not what you feel based off the image.

Like I said, I thought DC was a free roam game, if it was, than I would have thought the same.
