I'd be down, the topic of the hillside just made me think about something more substantial in terms of a free-roam and the island which it could take place on.

This is fairly obvious, but different elements of driving would be covered by different environemts in the island.

High speed runs & drag racing would take place on the motorways (sorry I'm English).
Drift battles, touge races, hillclimbs, or just high-altitude roadtrips would take place in the hills.
Street racing, short drag races and drifting can be done in the city.
Rallying, off-roading or just plain gymkhana messing-around can be carried out in the coastal areas.

Basically the imagination I have here is of a place that could provide almost all types of drivers with something they would enjoy. The island would be a good place to visit because it would be able to cater to most types of drivers :).

Read under the Avatar: Also English!
Secondly: I think the idea of the "Island" is much easier than people imagine. Even If they simply fused and increased tracks in size. Free-roam would be perfect. Just increase room capacity and remove timers.

Really, this idea could well be implemented. If a track can be made in one DLC? Then surely a Free-roam (Based on my above idea) would be equivalent to 2-3DLCs. Easily do-able? 👍

Using said method it could be one DLC, I would use Saints Row The Third as my fair example, but the developer studios, Volition are a bit bigger.

I'm not here to talk about SR, but in one DLC there was a complete island added. Whether a small development team like PD could pull that off? I don't know. Is it do-able in 2-3? I would have thought so.

Gran Turismo Road Trip (Online World Freeroam), or Gran Turismo 6 Road Trip (Online World Freeroam). GTRT, GT6 RT. Hmm. Trying to come up with a name for your fantastic idea. Does Gran Turismo 6 Road Trip sound any good? Or should it stay as Gran Turismo 6? Or are they separate? :)

Dream, Dream, Dream. Don't get your hopes up people. PD are the Tortoises of the dev community, it's just not going to happen.
Let it go guys, you know Kaz just wants funds to drive :)
........... Let........ the dream.................die.

So how would you guys get around the players per room limitations.

PD already stated they couldn't put anymore then 16 i believe on one race track at a time. I think the amount of space it would take just to run something that big at a high level of detail would create issues and possibly even lower the number of people in a room. I don't know about you but having a massive island with very few people wouldn't keep you interested very long.

The ps3 is already at it's limit so this would have to be done on the next gen console. The PS3 simple couldn't handle it.

Read earlier in the thread, you'll see that we're all coming together to try and form one workable solution that even the likes of Polyphony Digital can pull of in however many years it will take before the next title is ready for publishing. :)

We covered the issues of network problems and console limitations earlier in this thread ;).

I personally would enjoy a burnout paradise style addition to the game. houses with your cars or the option of a warehouse to keep all your vehicles. you should be able to drive on surface streets or skip directly to areas such as the parts shop, gas station, or your team hq. Next is loading up your track rig, semi, workshop, extra parts, tires. fueling up your vehicles, especially street cars would be a welcome touch of realism. As long as the textures from the street look ok (a little better than 8-bit lol), I would be very happy pulling one of my drift silvias out from my warehouse through the roll up doors, out onto the city street and over to the gas station for a fill up and a pack of zig-zags...

Edit: KING SIZE zig zags

I can see it coming together. The Coastline, the Mountains, the big city and open roads, and some countryside. Add in some freeways, and we have an environment that will suit about every style of driving.

You don't necessarily need a lot of data to build it.

However, I think that the system for choosing your cars from an online list and a transporter that arrives at your location would do great. But I think that the list should be shortened to 12 cars.

I was also discussing in GTA4 (bear with me) about an online garage system, and how each avatar would have their own garage regardless whether it's in the same spot as someone else's. If done correctly, you'd be able to display a list of users who are currently in the room with you that use the same garage. Additionally, you could walk around their garage and see (or even test drive) their cars (with permission.)

As for the freeway system, the Special Stage routes are a logical choice since you can see parts of other SSRs from one another.

JMO...

I want to call this Gran Turismo Road Trip. GTRT :)

I love the fact that we're working together to come up ideas for a freeroam. Kaz and PD will be proud. It's the bestest things I could ever attend too in threads like theses. GTP and GTP Members FOREVER!!! :gtpflag:

Edit: Kaz and PD could also make a GTTV news report tower down at "Gran Turismo City's plaza". With a large TV viewing latest news about GT Academy, DLC and update news, and stuff like that. :D

This was my idea for "My Home" for the cars, but I don't suspect it to happen because it's to much work, but it was similar to Auto Vista. ;)

In "My Home". If one has enough cars in their garage, there are 5 to 10 parking spaces to display your cars by selecting, "Display This Car. Note: The "Display This Car" is a new feature which could only work what is written below after this note.

(Display This Car feature: After you've display your choice of cars, you can walk around them or coming up close to them to read their informations. You can also open up their doors if wanting to enter their interiors to check out from the inside, and even "BEEP BEEPING their horns. Opening the cars roofs (Convertible Cars only). Open their hoods and trunks. Lowering their windows. Starting up their engines to hear the beauty of their sounds, interior only.)

If one has so much cars in their garage, they can go "My Cars Mode" by again pushing down the "select button" to select any car to cruise or photo travel with.

Have you been drinking again Toko?
Oh well no harm in dreaming, I just hope that people don't get too disappointed when they find that Gt6 is just a prettier version of all the previous Gts, with a better physics model.

Look, I know you have no imagination "at all" but please don't come and say I was drinking cause I wasn't. :grumpy: Plus. I don't think some of these ideas are for GT6 is it? Or are we talking about GT6 overall? If for GT6 then I'll tone down my ideas.

Don't take it literally, your post just seemed a little over-zealous to me with the flag waving and all,
No need to rein your imagination in on my account.
Obviously, I don't have one 'at all' :)

Oh. Then I apologize, sorry about. :guilty: It looked liked I got "to" excited. :p

Kaz stated he wanted players to obey traffic laws in free roam, might not be what you want to see, just saying, don´t wanna scare you out. Who knows if it really comes one day they probably found a solution to make everybody happy, let us pray

I got ya. I remember that too. Even if that was implemented though, I think it wouldn't be anything more than something optional to do. For example, sometimes, when I get bored in a free-roaming game like Midnight Club, I try to follow the rules just for kicks (red lights, speed limit, etc.). Other than that, I have confidence in them too that if free-roam was implemented into the GT series, it would do the game more good, than not, thus leaving most of us happy.

Indeed, and those who do not wish to obey road laws. There are many more rooms dedicated to racing and the like. I mean. Maybe even have the choice of a certain event purely for freeroam? a sort of: 70% of players are drivers. 30% the law? I know I'm maybe being a little too hopeful with this idea. But it's surely possible!

I was thinking a similar thing actually sir. :)

My thought was that if a player began to drive a Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R Pace Car there would be a pop-up that would ask if they wanted to be a law enforcer, the role would be limited to one enforcer per eight drivers.

In order to avoid trolls, before setting up a free-roam session there would be an option to allow enforcers or not. (This way noobs can't just roll up on any room with a Pace Car and start trolling ;))

What do you guys think?

OR.. the host is the only one who can be offered/and offer law enforcement roles. I think we should build up our ideas, collaborate them, and spam PD :sly:

I am down ;) 👍

Maybe anyone could be an enforcer but host has to approve when someone applies for an enforcement role?

Thinking about it now, your answer Yamauchi San couldn't have said it any better himself :)

Totally agree 👍

We should have some windy roads for drifters at mountain roads, and have parking areas (PA) for us to come out of our cars to check out the scenery. And driving to gas stations to hangout, watching the other drive pass us in their tuned up designed drift cars at fast speed then drifting into the next corner.

The windy roads could have green or colourful trees, cherry blossoms, and sponsor boards, on the side of the road. As we drive down the road, there be a beautiful village we can drive pass, even with your friends. :)

Oh, I love everything about that, except one thing.
There must be a single kei-car doing driven by a senile senior citizen doing 20mph down the entire stretch of road blocking everyone.
I volunteer for that position.

Those mountain roads are fairly similar to the vision I had, good work :).

Similar to that, another part of the mountain could have the scenery and layout like the famous;

I'll be trying to update the feedback proposal today, guys please remember to vote -_-.

TDU with GT physics=The holy grail of gaming.

So many endless hours of options and driving joy.

P.S. An open world would make the photo feature so much more rewarding.

That.... Is very ture. :sly:👍

Edit: I'm trying to come up with another idea... -.-'

I think it would be fun that there are traffic regulations and there are X2012 police cars to chase you. I find it a fun way to practice your driving skills.

I'm doing 90 and- why is there a Jet Fighter behind me with police lights?

Officer: "Sir, do you know how fast you were going back there?"
MW: "No, my speedo doesn't work and I hate my helmet now if you'll excuse me, I have some concrete bacon to fry..."

Officer catches up in 5 seconds and moves for the spin...

Red Bull X-car enforcers?

Horrible idea IMO -_-

Taking a car that many regard a "noob car" and making it more annoying wouldn't be a sensible move, but that's just my two pence.

I just came up with another idea, and this time for dragesters. Well for one area so far.

AHLB2369c.jpg

There should be an area while players are freeroaming, they can visit a deserted airport road to meet other dragsters to test their car's G-Force and Power against each other. :)

I like your thinking sir, it caters to the needs of the drag community, yet it can easily be worked into the geography of the area (island) :).

A smart idea indeed, good one Tokoturismo 👍

Thank you JBanton. :) I really want the freeroam online world to happen in GT. I usually go wild when it comes to freeroam ideas. :D:tup:

Edit: At the deserted airport area. The planes should something like this.

They should look old and rusty, to make airport look like it was a special place many years ago. They'll add more to the scenery.
