lol! That made me laugh. If they ever did go broke, we should convince Kaz to hire them. But won't they have to work in Japan or something?

lol, they probably would, but to be honest I´ve no idea where Eden is from. Why should they not go broke? I mean did TDU2 sell any good?

On the other Hand, I´ve been thinking about that before, PD should expand and open a studio in regions outside of Japan anyways, like one in Europe one in North America and one in Australia that way they had easier acces to Tracks and could keep an eye on the car industry and culture of those regions

Haha. I'm not sure if they did or not, but the idea for PD to expand to other regions was the same thing I thought as well. Why didn't Kaz or Sony do something like that, your game's name is all over the world. make other studios to make things a whole lot easier.

I agree, if Sony and PD open stuidos in the U.S., Europe and Australia. They can get further infomation on cars, tracks and different views in the automotive culture, instead of Kaz and PD of Japan doing all of the heavy traveling and research all the time. It can set new boundaries and innovations to more enthusiasts to work with PD to make GT what it truly means for car enthusiasts around the world.

Sony needs to make a move like this on their franchise.

Yeah. :) And because Sony is in a terrible situation right now. This should be one of their chances to make a greater good for themselves, Kaz and PD.

I don't think PD endorse street racing so I wouldn't expect any traffic. As for road laws, if the island is purposely created for Gran Turismo players then that should mean we, the players make the rules.

Remember we were talking about the Skyline Pace Car Enforcers earlier? This is kind of where I was beginning to head, if a room was set with a certain aim and peope don't follow it then enforcers will be able to do their thing and restore order. How? That's open for discussion.

Can this be the enforcer? :)

Nissan GT-R (Edit, this model seems better.)

The enforcer livery should look something like this.

If it has the beloved lighting like our trusty friend here;

I would very much like it, I just used the Pace Car as the enforcer initially, because it's already in the series and PD wouldn't have to model another car. :)

Your right. To be honest I really like the GT-R pace car. Would love to see it being the enforcer of GT's free roam. :)

The next issue we'd have to worry about now is how an enforcer would do their job; as in what powers or abilities they would have.
On the other end, we would need to think about penalties and such for offendors.

Because this is more of a development discussion I have created a new GT Free Roam Affiliates discussion here :)

The only way I could see free roam working is if it's a game of its own, using gt5 as the platform I think it could work but I think including it in the mainstream gt series would just bring more problems to a game that still struggles with bugs and glitches IMO.

Yeah, it could be called 'GT World' or something, with only players. It'd be kinda cool if there were tracks that you could access. Street courses could work so that the pit lane is there, but the streets surrounding are as normal, and you can drive into a garage and it'd teleport you to the circuit, where you can choose one of your cars and race it. Fictional courses will be dotted around the map and to access them you drive into the car park, which'd teleport you to the circuit in the same way as street courses, and to get back you drive back int a garage and select 'back to road'.

Race cars should only be available to drive on these tracks, but road cars should be drive able anywhere. Also, you should be able to teleport to the closest of many garages around the environment via the pause menu. A-Spec and B-Spec are accessible through any garage, and real circuits are available at the airport. You drive into the car park, select a circuit and you go there. It'd work much like a course selection screen, and circuits on the actual map are also accessible here.

Claps to E28. Love your idea good sir. :) Really put a smile on my face.

We need point to points, Varied scenery and roads. Traffic or no traffic, Some real locations prefered, Eg Selection of best driving roads in the world. Normal racing but it would just be A-B first to finish. Like a Rally.

I think a "spot challenge" feature would cover this nicely, say you're within x metres of someone, you can go into the start menu, bring up your map, lay a finishing marker and then x seconds later a 3-second countdown will begin. First one to the marker wins, simple no?

Oops more development talk in the thread again, sorry guys :(

I just realised that the inclusion of a free-roam may mean that PD could make more sales by getting a female audience on board (although in gaming female audience is a minority)

Remember to vote please guys, I've seen many people commenbting on here but not as many votes :(, link is in the OP

I gave it 3 votes some days ago. I could give 10 more if it was allowed.

This thread have the best idea for GT I've seen in a while. Keep it up guys.

BTW, E28 ideas are fantastic.

Gave it 3 votes on each of my two e-mails.

I also promoted it multiple times in online lobby's!:D

Thank you very much sir :), we just need to spread the word a better I guess.

Maybe I need to edit the link in my signature

With a 50GB DL Blu Ray disc I doubt it would be needed. Most PS3 games don't come anywhere close to filling the disc.

That's interesting, although it would take PD a few centuries to create content that would fill a BD-ROM :(

Votes, people. We have now discussed the idea in a bit more depth and realised that most elements of the idea are workable :)

Maybe in the off-roading areas of the world we could get around to doing things like this;

Was going to post something, but this pretty much sums it up. 👍

It would be like a merge between TDU's concept (without the nonsense) and GT5 (with GT's game engine, of course).

Would love GT: C-spec kinda mode. Specifically (and I've been saying this for some time now), I want the Shutoku Highway system in the game. Sadly only seen in the Tokyo Xtreme Racer series by Genki which has been discontinued.

To spice it up a bit, they could introduce missions, for example delivery missions, like get to marker X within a specified amount a time without hitting traffic. Kaz is about to race on the Ring and needs his brand new premium car. The car is located at garage X, get on the Autobahn and get it to him before the race begins!

Like... a time trial?? We have those already in this game. Except worded different, and a predefined route...
