One of my favorite games, Burnout 3, wasn't free roam. Burnout Paradise which WAS free roam kinda sucked... But then again it didn't. If anything it would be cool to have a menu AND a free roam. So this way I don't have to drive to a race...

They should do it: Major cities or places like tokyo, los angeles, beijing, london, munich, rome, alps, autobahn, new york

Sure I would love free roam but this game is not the place for it. Maybe point to point races. But not free roam.

PD only put 200 cars with interiors, that should answer if GT6 will see free roam lol....... want free roam >>>>> NFS lol

I could free roam on a road made entirely of vomit, and it would be better then any type of free roam the PS3 era of NFS games could offer :indiff:

With so many people cruising in ssr7 Monaco mt aso toscano etc. It will be smith that most people will want

I think there is. I haven't got a clue what your talking about.

Ok, so ill explain. Normaly any Drifter don´t see the track as a closed course where you round and round several laps. They look for interesting spots and locations for drifting. It can be a section, a corner, a pitlane entries in reverse (Eiger, Highspeed Ring).

Many Drifters already dreams if all SS5 and SS7 could become a single free roam map and they could invent their favorite sections on there. But this game is full of invisible walls, and Drifters hates these kind of limitations.

Ah that's better. Thanks.

I really think that this is a fantastic idea. Me and my friend were just talking the other day about how many open world games are around, yet so little of them are actually any good. Most Wanted was a particular favourite of ours. Since Turn 10 revealed that Forza Horizon would be an open world game, it got me wondering what PD could do in this area.
If this idea were to become a reality, I think it would be an idea to separate the title from the upcoming GT6, as Turn 10 did with the Forza series. This would give the studio the opportunity to develop two different games. One for the Hardcore Sim fan and one for the casual racer, wishing to meet up with friends.

So Gran Turismos take at Forza Horizon. Sounds pointless. Plenty games already have free roaming features.

Free roam and a better track editor are the two things that could sway me to buy GT6 if it is available on the PS3. Racing and physics are better on PC sims and will continue to be better. I will build a pc for driving sims long before I buy a PS4.

Well, tbh I don't like the idea,as it would eliminate the whole racing game.

You didn't read the OP :grumpy: We said the freeroam would run parallel to the racing element of the game as an alternative mode...

Furthermore the OP also suggested that free-roam could come in the form of a separate title.

Reading; it's not that hard.

Yes I know that, but it would still eliminate the actual RACING part as more people would want to do that instead. And would you like gt6 to make us wait 5 more years?

Anyone remember that concept city in GT5? That can be GT6's new GT Life online/offline in that one. Who knows, that must of been what GT5 would've had but might be finished for GT6 probably. I'm pretty sure that city isn't to big so why not? The RACING, part that everyone loves in RACING GAMES, can be in the race station that host events or you hosting events. So others precious RACING will be kept so quit worrying.

See how easy that is or will be? Give yourselves a break once and awhile off the track, and take a detour around the city of Gran Turismo with your friends and meeting new players.

1. You can't see the future, your statement about what people will do is invalid.
2. Again you can't see the future, did PD tell you that they're working on a free-roam for next 5 years?

Didn't think so...

Sorry but your statements are fundamentally flawed in that you're making assumptions based on your own opinions.

💡💡:idea:Maybe this should be a DLC pack

Bad idea, people kept complaining about GT Academy's size being too big for their Internet speeds/hard drives while it only was 3GB, with the datasize of a whole new game mode and complete city including all textures and stuff taking about the same if not more data space it wouldn't be welcomed by everyone...

I also don't get why people seem to love DLC so much. It's just a few pixels you buy (e.g. cars) which are there to make more profit. I'm glad PD aren't doing this much.

Are the slim ps3s able to have a hard drive replaced? if so then storage is not a problem given how cheap hard drives are.

i think its possible gt5 left so mush space (before the add on's) and i serously think if they wanted to they could realease an update for it

I'd really like to see this. I was hoping for something like this before GT5 was released. Though, if it is done. I have a feeling it would be strictly limited. For example, not letting you go past a certain speed, no erratic driving etc.

If that were to be the case then personally, i wouldn't bother with it. I don't think Kaz wants to promote dangerous driving on public roads. If i had to stick to a speed limit atleast, that would be acceptable. Just don't restrain it to where it isn't even enjoyable.

I'm keeping my hopes up for this though!

Hi guys.

For long I had that same wish, that GT included a free roam mode, and basically you described it just the way I wanted it to be implemented in GT5.

Basically this would be one of the best "new features" in GT6, really hope that PD puts some effort into this.

Cheers.

This sounds better as a separate GT title, rather than GT6 or any other GT in the main series. And it's starting to sound a lot like TDU2.

Yea,it should be called gtlife or something.

They should just add a 2nd cd for the open world like in gt 2 that they had one cd for the arcade mode and the other one for the story mode.
Some games still have two discs like battlefield 3. So i thin that they should try that in GT6 too. (:
