It's funny too because NFS wasn't the first racing game series with open world. I think its sad that people think if GT tries to do something new, the series will be ruined.
And it would be good if people coule be on teams like
1. Dark Outlaws (they would take out any car they see)
2. Police (people could join the police force)
3. Wasps (drivers with quick little cars that would annoy other drivers with there agility)
4. Fbi (Investigating criminal gangs and would total cars)
I think that PS should focus on fix most on improve stardard cars first and develop new dealerships. Free Roam maybe just on GT6 for me. And about the Open Road rules. PD just need to create the road work with the right "rules"(i don't know the correct word instead of rules...lol).
Anyway, is the same thing when you drive an car with right or left position. European cars has left drive positions while American cars has right drive positions.
You are in the GT6 forum.

It might be more open roads like Horizon. But I have a FEELING that it'll all be open to drive on. This is PD we're talking about. They're going to go above and beyond if an open world/free roam system is in place.I think that PD should focus on fix most on improve stardard cars first and develop new dealerships. what if GT home.. is free roam mode.. you have a Trailer / warehouse you drive to for your car collection , race info etc...
an air port for photo mode
a gas station / maintenance shop for repairs..
And ITS ALL OPTIONAL
Yup,something like that would be perfect.
A free roam with a city, an highway, nature with a mountain and offroad parts and a small race track for testing.
Also a gas station, a workshop, a tuning shop, a paint shop and your home with an underground garage for all cars.
But no need for a extrem big free roam, since the main focus of the game is still the racing on tracks arround the world![]()
There's no need to arbitrarily limit it like that; why add a race track to free roam / open mode specifically, when the game has lots of circuits?
Unsurprisingly, I still like my course-creator tracks linking circuits / cities / photo locations idea. The clue is in the game already, I think: Grand Tour in Special Events.
I think they should all be incorporated into the "free roam".![]()
When the main game and all of its bugs and mistakes are completely done and gone. Yes they can do free roam... But everytime you can use time better than making a free roam (new tracks).
That would be a bit difficult i think![]()
But worth pursuing. I'm not talking about storing the entire planet on disk here, I mean to leverage the potential in the course creator to allow a procedurally-created (but not necessarily "random") network of driving roads to exist between locations modeled for the game.
I've already said all of this, so I'll try to keep it short: the Grand Tour is a great example of where I'm coming from. It's almost possible with the content that's in GT5, plus the "alps" course that's been seen in a few videos, to do what I've described for the Grand Tour itself. The part between Siena and San Gimignano is already handled by a point-to-point course creator track, and the following Toscana dirt course is only a glorified course creator track in itself (there's no reason they couldn't have made a gravel rally out of the Toscana theme, it was seen in the GT5 E3 teaser a year before release).
What will be difficult is making all of this "seamless", but if we don't expect too much on that front, and especially on theme transitions and approaching "locations", then I think it could work if it doesn't displace the traditional menu, or at least does interesting things with the menu (e.g. the game streams into your starting location, where you were last, perhaps, like the main-menu demos, and everything is overlaid on that in a streamlined / sensible / useful interface - you can either just get in the car, drive out of the photomode location, and onto a procedural course and head for the next destination on optionally shortened pieces of road, or use the menus to find your next race as normal.)
I don't know that PD would do it like that, but I expect some form of open, procedurally-generating driving "content" to be present in the next game, it's been more than hinted at already.
Like that small preview of cars driving around in that small white city from the main menu, as if that was their concept of how it would like?
Well, that's something perhaps, along with Kaz straight-up saying he wanted to add a city / free driving mode (which is where this thread came from), plus all the superfluous collision modeling on SSR7, etc.
Plus if there were to be a free roam city, Kaz and PD wouldn't have worry about expending it because most of the focus will be on racing outside the city. Meaning the city can be the new GT Live mode but us free roaming in it without having to update the city. The updates will mostly focus on fixing bugs/glitches and also adding spec update.![]()
Yes...... Drive to airport to fly to tracks, drive to garage for repairs and maintenance, drive to shop for performance and aero enhancements, drive to petrol station for fuel (makes it more of a simulator then), spray shop for new colour, drivers house for stats checking, internet cafe for online lobbies (meeting place wen driving online), multi-storey/underground car park to show off there cars with set ups displayed , a track for custom track/event creations, and finally, an empty dealership spot where people can show and sell there cars.
An actual city with places to go, maybe even a mini-game here and there (drift a roundabout or drag a set of lights in a certain time). But the only update would be the virtual DLC store with the new content.......
Simply said, you understand nothing of what this thread or what a GT-style free roam is about.i voted no, i hate the free roam idea and don't want this game turned into a midnight club or a nfs most wanted game.
Keep the game real add official competicions wtcc, gtc, etc.. no more standard cars(i prefer to have less cars and all premium then have 1000 stardard cars when most people don't heve run with 100 of them, theres so much better things to put in this game than a free roam that will ruin the image of the series, at least its what i think
