After Forza Horizon, I think I'd be down for a freeroam GT. But I'd want 'em to keep the physics the same, no "softening" like they did with Horizon.

And I'd also want there to still be traditional track-based races, accessed via menu at a certain location in the world, as if the world was the GT Life menu and you get to all the normal GT stuff like car dealerships, a-spec races, license tests, etc. by driving to the proper facility.

This reminds of the original Gran Turismo's and Gran Turismo 2's Simulation Mode menu. It looked like a birds-eye view of a city that all the car dealerships and events were placed in. It even had Test Course mapped on those maps.

I think they should make it like tdu2 but with like he said track based races , basically if it was tdu2 with the same selection of cars that would be nice

If I want to freely roam, I'll go to Liberty City or somewhere like that. It would be nice, but I fear it would simply take too much effort to make, and too much power to run, properly and realistically. And where in the world would you model? A fictional city?

What I would like to see is a return of Citta di Aria and Costa di Amalfi - picturesque tracks, which aren't necessarily conducive to multi-car racing but a pleasure to drive all the same. Pike's Peak perhaps? Scrap London, as it's utterly unrealistic, too short and simple a layout, and pretty useless for racing with the kind of cars me and my pals usually drive. I'd like more real-world locations, both race circuits and street layouts (but of a decent length/distance), which would give the whole experience of the game a greater sense of place in the world (you might dispute this view).

We would need 2 discs for that. Because a huge world and all those high res graphics would take a very long time.

That would be very awesome.

It would be great because you can just practice drifting in corners in free roam not have to go in circles everytime. Would also be awesome if you could free roam online.

MAN it would be so cool to have free roam in an open world. I would love to drive the cars I have painted, modified and maintained in GT5 in an open environment with the added obstacle of things like traffic and police.

I say yes, BUT, keep the real stuff as well unlike Forza Horizon failed to do.
I guess make it like a small open town people can race, drift and really anything, meets rallying, a little go kart track that sounds good to me.

Worth the long downloading and in-game loading times, esp. since the game would be open-world based.

That would be awesome ! They should the loading screen where its all hondas n all white and toronto . They should do that map , and just put a bunch if race track you have to drive too.

I say yes. But it would probably have to be on 2 discs. Disc 1 = Regular GT (A-Spec B-Spec etc) and Disc 2 = Free Roam.

Sounds good to me too, simple but dense map keeping the stunning detail GT is know for whether it be the environment or the cars .. not to big, not to small.. Something all GT players can enjoy, whether you're a racer, drifter, cruiser etc.

+1 :)👍 Very true.

To clarify/correct the context of the first part of the post you quoted:

It was being "considered" for GT5 so it's possible that they've had a head start on it for the next GT.

This is something people quite often don't seem to get about PD. They appear to have a list of features they want, and they plug away at them as prototypes until they're "good enough", at which point they'll convert them to work in whichever game is being made at that time. What that means is that certain features can be in development for multiple iterations of the games before actually making it out into the light of day, e.g. weather.

Having this long-term development scheme is good, because you effectively have unlimited computing power and enough time to just throw things together and see if they work. What doesn't, gets axed or sidelined; what does, gets refined to the point it can be included.
It's bad because you're not necessarily planning for certain features, and your development timeline is far less rigid. Unexpected difficulties can delay a game if a certain feature is already implemented into its core, or there can be obvious disparity between a collection of features and a complete game set around those features.

It's riskier, probably more expensive, but in the long run you get a lot of nice goodies out of it, especially with iteration.

i would love pd to create free roam. I would like them to base the game on japan. It would also be good if the game was a M.O.O.R. game

To earn money you could drive to circuits such as fuji speedway and suzuka etc and if you wanted to race at a circuit in a different country you could drive to the airport and then a menu would pop up and you could choose what circuit to race at. It would be good if they added car dealerships you could drive up to and enter and it would be good to see petrol stations 'N' stuff.

The only thing that would bug me about free roam would be when kids crash into you thinking its funny

Honestly this is what I think they should imply to Gran Turismo 6. It should be a city where always start by being parked off by a garage or in , we should be able to drive to the races and drive normally like how we do in the real world. Street Roads (80kmh-50mph) Highways (120kmh-80mph) it should fully realistic in my opinion , Their should be CPU racers on the streets where you can flash your lights at and maybe do 60kmh roll (three honk) Now on my opinion their should be car meet ups where you know just have fun ! Get out of our vehicles and look at the CPU's cars or online Real people cars. Now driving to races , it should be just like real life where you drive their and you race ! What i'm trying to say is the game should be a mixture between "Midnight Club Los angles, Test Drive Unlimited 2, Forza Horizon and a bit of Real life" This could make a huge impact to the racing game industry and maybe be the best racing game out their , its defying the odds. Its a win win situation for everyone, this could get lots to buy a PS3 and The Game making a huge profit and income

If they did it right I'd buy a PS4!

Not sure I would buy a PS4 just to get GT6. I would prefer it if it could be on the PS3 but we're not 100% sure on which console it's going to be released on.

Nixzn

Street racing is not happening. Gran Turismo is 'simulator', and also PD would lose a lot of licenses, which means less cars.

I think your idea isn't that good, but free roam without street racing would be OK.

I bought the PS3 for GT5, and will do for GT6

Street racing is bad idea
