I think its a great idea however the execution of it will anger a lot of people when live…I've been asking for brand-specific challenges for years! I'm hyped for that, the garage viewer, and the vintage car section more than anything else. More content is always great (looking forward to Autum Ring for sure) but this update seems to be adding new features that make the game feel deeper, rather than just wider. Love it.
My hope is that the challenges have meaningful rewards. Imagine completing the Mazda challenges and unlocking a "legendary" car from Mazda's Gran Turismo history that is not otherwise available, like the GT1 Mazda RX-7 LM edition, as an example. I miss reward cars being tied to specific things instead of everything coming through purchases.I think its a great idea however the execution of it will anger a lot of people when live…
The Power Pack was not mentioned during the initial SOP announcement.I wonder what else will they show us on october 3rd.
I remember it was similar last year with brief reveal on State Of Play and later details on World Series.
Do anyone remembers when Power Pack was revealed? On SOP or this later event.
There are not going to be any next-gen exclusives, by anyone, until well into the 2030s if ever. Everything will still be on PS5/Xbox Series.Add me to the camp of folks who aren’t necessarily seeing the need for gt8 anytime soon. Gt8 should be for ps6, and drop support for ps4/5.
If thats true, then the whole console market is, dead man walking. A casualty of the AI boom. There are not going to be any next-gen exclusives, by anyone, until well into the 2030s if ever. Everything will still be on PS5/Xbox Series.
At the price the console will be you are basically sending your game (and probably your studio) out to die by doing that.
I guess we can talk about a Spec V update now.Ok, now what...![]()
lol, I remember when half the forum had that avatarI haven't logged into this account in a minute. This is the best news I have heard in years. I can finally change my avatar after years. It would be great if they had class filtering for shuffle racing. Family mode looks a lot like Gran Turismo 4! I hope this is a hint of a new art direction.
My theory is, alongside a few decent updates, a final Spec 5 update next Year (probably around November or December) that will mark the "end" of GT7 support in terms of content, a reveal trailer of GT8 (maybe even before the Spec 5), and a GT8 launch around March/April 2028.I guess we can talk about a Spec V update now.![]()
Looking forward to next year already. And it would almost certainly be appropriate, as December next year is the true 30th anniversary of the series.I guess we can talk about a Spec V update now.![]()
It's very likely that it won't be in Sport mode at all. The point of Sport mode is that it's a somewhat serious competitive mode, so randomness doesn't fit in that. The preview we saw in the announcement is in a regular lobby. Hopefully the roster is just a placeholder, as it's kind of all over the place.Sadly, despite all the work, GT7's auto penalty system is still fatally flawed. Hopefully Shuffle Mode can be used in other modes than Sport, and hosts can go back to self-stewarding public lobbies. Hours and hours of CLEAN racing. Haven't seen it since Sport Mode got started...
What if only 50% of GT7 players are able to unlock it by driving fast enough in a challenge or mission or license test? Or only 20%? Or perhaps 80%? Should those who are not fast enough never be able to get that car?? At least after we reached the cap in the GT7 collector level we should be able to buy, or you think we should never be able to buy it?My hope is that the challenges have meaningful rewards. These cars are free, and getting unique cars—like the ones in the Power Pack—is really rewarding. What if only 50% of GT7 players are able to unlock it by driving fast enough in a challenge or mission or license test? 1. It doesn't need to be punishingly hard - you just need to complete something. In my opinion, things like this should be able to be accomplished via work, not purely via skill. That requires careful design to feel good, but I think its achievable. What if only 50% of GT7 players are able to unlock it by driving fast enough in a challenge or mission or license test? It's not going to happen. Also my wish is they fix the new physics engine soon cause I hate the new one.
It won't take many more hours of coding of making a parallel career mode, regardless if it is similar to GT3-GT4-GT5 etc. The menu book should have all the options especially after achieving top 3, including AI Sophy & qualifications etc.Whilst GT7 is a great game, I can't help but wonder what an open-ended career mode would be like. Only a new game could provide such a thing, which does annoy me a little as it seems we're quite a long way off that.
The console market as we knew it was already dead even before that. All of the same reasons that caused GT7 to be backported to the PS4, wasting a year and much of its potential, exist fivefold now. Even if memory was/will be reasonably priced (and it probably won't be for a very long time if ever), the gains in technology are too small for a new console to ever be the kind of leap the PS1, PS2, PS3 were.If thats true, then the whole console market is, dead man walking. A casualty of the AI boom.
Fair enough! One of those situations where I don't know what I'm missing because I never played a GT game before this one.Just so we can enjoy and discover a true and new career mode. That's not a minor deal, and without detracting in any way from the quality of their recent work, the structure of GT7 as it stands will never allow for that.
I gladly accept whatever they are willing to offer us, but I remain waiting for a fresh start.
I dont think its a guarantee - see Suzuka WestI think Autumn Ring Mini is a given. They didn’t announce Grand Valley South in the 1.29 trailer but we got it; and Autumn Ring Mini is even easier than that as it’s just a cut through. The full layout too was a very small track, so I expect that will be several courses, if you include the reverse versions.

Thats interesting if thats true, have you got a source for that? There are not going to be any next-gen exclusives, by anyone, until well into the 2030s if ever. Everything will still be on PS5/Xbox Series.
