Not sure if this has been posted before, but the Youtuber Mario Soler, known for being somewhat accurate in his predictions, is saying we might get the BMW M4 GT3 for Spec IV.

(Video is in Spanish)

I think I saw or heard mentioned Power Pack 2 during the video. Which means that it is possible, hypothetical, but also desired by the GT community. But probable?? When? I'd love a Power Pack 2 but will PD&Kaz bring it in 2026 or later?

Scanning and modelling the ~2 miles of Bugatti Circuit is a much bigger lift than the very small connector of Suzuka West, for a circuit that's almost universally considered a bit boring. That's not a comparable case at all.
How’s about that the tracks you mentioned all have working pit lanes in their variations, whilst Suzuka West doesn’t and never does the other part of Autopolis that the short variation cuts off, surely that’s a layout since it’s just a very small connector

I think I also suggested to Kaz [on twitter/X] a while ago that PD add some Nissan/Honda GT500/super GT from 2020-2025 because Nissan does not compete in Le Mans or WEC the last few years. But perhaps my main intention was to get some new fast FR race cars that the GT community will make livery on that is very similar to cars from GT3/GT4/GT5..!! GT7 can be many very different things to very different players!

Didn't someone mention some time ago, about 2023 V8 Supercars coming to GT7?

I was thinking maybe that person mixed up those cars being scanned for Project Motor Racing. It was a similar thing to the rumour of AMG E63 and A45 coming to GT6. There was even a gtplanet news article confirming it via Mercedes-Benz press release.

Instead, it would up being that we got the SLS GT3 in GT6 and the A45 came later to GT Sport. The E63 road car and Erebus E63 V8 Supercar were in fact added to Forza Motorsport.

It’s easy to lose track of things when you’re still coming off of the sheer excitement surrounding the GT6 reveal at Silverstone last week, and it’s possible that you may have missed this interesting bit of news regarding the muscle Mercedes-Benz’s AMG division is bringing to GT6.

In addition to the SLS AMG GT3 we’ve already seen in the GT6 launch trailer, a Mercedes-Benz press release also confirms both the E63 AMG and A45 AMG will be making their first-time appearances in the game.

For a closer look at the two new vehicles making their way into GT6, check out the videos below:

my two cents on the whole Autumn Ring thing, i think we will get Autumn Ring Mini- as it was in previous versions.
and we will get a new 'reimagined' version of the long track, not the original one.

because Kaz.
As far as I can (ahem) interpret, the original layout and the extended version will be included, and with no mention of the mini layout, who knows whether we will get that or not too

Why is adding a pit lane an issue? Can't really scan the track without scanning it

At present all we know is that Kaz stated "both" the classic and new longer layouts of Autumn Ring will be included. That suggest we're getting two layouts, one of which is new to the series and one is the original circuit layout.
I interpreted Kaz's message similar to this. One layout would be a widened or extended version of Autumn Ring, much like our current Deep Forest and Trial Mountain, whereas the other is the classic version not widened to 'FIA standards.' Fingers crossed for 'mini' but I have doubts from his phrasing that it'll be there.

Now if our assumptions are correct, can we get future 'faithfully recreated' tracks? I'd love an older rendition of Deep Forest and Grand Valley back specifically.

I'm sure Mini will be added in a future update for content purposes. The two circuits suffice and get them racing during the world tour events, while Mini can be optimized for a later date, and a selling point.

Especially since Autumn Ring Mini is almost more popular than the full track itself, they have to understand it's importance.

im assuming Mini will be in this update to (sort of)coincide with the Lego Playstation diorama 🤞🏼

I can totally see them adding autumn ring mini in a later update or in GT8 without explicitly announcing it—like they did with the Alsace test track—so that we’re surprised to find it in the game

I think it’s quite possible they’ll release the original versions of Trail Mountain, Deep Forest, and Grand Valley next year for the 30th anniversary, though I could also see them adding Midfield and Apricot Hill—and I’d prefer the latter.

I cannot at all see Polyphony releasing Grand Valley, Mountain Trail or Deep Forest as they were in previous GT games. That makes absolutely no sense and is completely against their ethos. Those full environments will bring nothing to the game other than nostalgia to wishful gamers.

Autumn Ring may well be widened, but I expect an extended version of the original track, as the original was short and not much more than the Red Bull Ring (it’s less than two miles!). Maybe at least another 1-2km on length

Adding pit lanes aren’t an issue, not having pit lanes is probably why those layouts aren’t accessible. You know PD wanting to be as real as possible probably why no Suzuka west or the back half of Autopolis.

The current Power Pack doesn't use Gilles Villeneuve or Yas Mariana, and Autumn Ring and Sugo would also be left out. This, coupled with Sophy's upcoming update, suggests that the Power Pack should be updated, or that there's a second Power Pack in the works. This second Power Pack would also make commercial sense, allowing Polyphony to generate some additional revenue from GT7 support, which appears to have lasted longer than initially anticipated.

I mean they literally said they're going to bring over the original as it was. Yes, the environment will be more detailed, the new lighting engine will make the track look a bit different, the surfaces, curbs, etc. will be updated, but it's still going to be the original track. There will be a whole new layout in addition to it, likely better designed for actual racing, much like the modernised Deep Forest, Trial Mountain, etc. but they will release the original as well.

I was referring to Trial Mountain, Grand Valley and Deep Forest. They are not going to bring those originals (GT1-4) back to GT7.

To clarify, Autumn Ring will be brought back as was in GT6 (with extension).

As one of the site's foremost Japanese speakers, I find it odd to see people discussing the layout of Autumn Ring.

Kaz merely mentioned that two courses would be added, and it is understood that these refer to Sugo and Autumn Ring. As for the phrase "These are the two course layouts available," it appears that the person responsible for the subtitles in the SOP video provided a translation that was open to misinterpretation.

And in my opinion, I think Autumn Ring will feature a full course, a mini layout, and an extended new layout (along with reverse versions of each).

Of course it was - it’s a real circuit. It doesn’t mean they scanned it. They scanned it for GT4, but if they didn't scan it when they did the last Suzuka updated they won’t include it.
I guess I don't understand about your argument is what wouldnt've been scanned given that every asset that comprises Suzuka West is already visible when driving Suzuka in game...

It's not like a Le Mans Bugatti vs Circuit de la Sarthe situation, literally all the track is visible with 99% overlap and the connecting part already mapped, they just elected not to introduce it in the game for whatever reason much like how they didn't really use it in GT4.

Autumn Ring Mini should be there but I can see a scenario where it isn't included given their announcement listed two layouts.

The Circuit de la Sarthe can only be scanned in its race configuration during the 24 Hours of Le Mans week or Le Mans Classic. The problem is that, during these events, the Bugatti circuit is largely used as a parking. It may be physically represented ingame, but it certainly isn't scanned.

Polyphony Digital's teams would have no choice but to come again on-site outside of those big races, just to scan the permanent circuit. That been said, they would have plenty of other things to scan at the 24 museum on that occasion...

Couldn't PD use a drone like what Slightly Mad Studios did, I think, for Bugatti Circuit?
I do remember Kaz saying they take thousands of pics of the different trees. So, they'd need to be physically there at the circuit.

However, even if the place is a parking lot, they only need to scan for the topography. Yes or no?

Yes, but they can't do it with cars, trucks, and infrastructure stationed there, not even with a drone.

That's interesting. I mean, I don't think they shut down streets when they made circuits like Tokyo R246.
They certainly had their employees scan(walking) Mount Panorama when Bathurst wasn't running. It's a public road all year.

They've likely upgraded their equipment in the last 10 years, but in 2017 they described in a presentation that they used a stationary LiDAR for 4mm accuracy and a vehicle-mounted camera system for photogrammetric reconstruction.

Incidentally, looking for references on how long the circuit team spends at each location, I see that the longest recorded scan time is two weeks, which they spent at Snaefell Mountain Course on the Isle of Man in 2014. Twelve years later, the circuit still hasn't appeared in Gran Turismo.
This information was later debunked.

Wasn't it later debunked to be the developers of IoM bike racing game?

And according to Kaz, I remember he did say it took four years to rebuild the Nurburgring in a recent interview (I think it was the one with EVO magazine?)

Last I heard, the entire Isle of Man TT course is 60.73km as opposed to the Nurburgring's 20.83km, roughly three times the distance, so that could genuinely take ages.

And it seems like an awful lot of effort to go to for a game that doesn't have motorbikes and a circuit that is not used for racing cars...

The track in the links. This is Polyphony; Every other game would just make it up. But the 2sqM they didn’t scan, because they decided, for whatever reason it won’t be in the game, doesn’t exist in their assets, they won’t use. Visually it’s there, but they scan more than that, they scan the actually surface to recreate any lumps and bumps.

Thing is… they may well have scanned it as even on F1 weekends it looks like it is just coned off. But given as others have said. It’s got no pitlane, and every GT track has a pitlane (correct me if I’m wrong someone?) then why bother creating it.

But then we still have that Subaru WRX time attack car that set a record there, and that was introduced during the days of GT Sport.
It seems like an awful lot of effort for one car 😅

But yeh, it would be magic to have the track in there, and the possibilities in GT7 would be numerous - but for me it would still be an odd choice, and the work required on it would almost certainly come at the cost of other tracks being considered/added.
