Wasn't it later debunked to be the developers of IoM bike racing game?
Yes, following the links you're right.
It seems it was a mistaken attribution to the Polyphony team, and it was actually the KT Racing team for the "TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge". It's difficult to find the link to the correction from the original source, https://bikesportnews.com/, but there are references to the July 2014 issue where they published a retraction and the correction that it wasn't Polyphony but KT Racing.

Maybe the same reasoning for IoM we have yet to or may not even see Pikes Peak.

I had forgotten about the Ruf Tribute. I wonder if we might see it in GT7 at some point to celebrate GT's 30 years anniversary, and why not with Spec IV.

As one of the site's foremost Japanese speakers, I find it odd to see people discussing the layout of Autumn Ring.

Kaz merely mentioned that two courses would be added, and it is understood that these refer to Sugo and Autumn Ring. As for the phrase "These are the two course layouts available," it appears that the person responsible for the subtitles in the SOP video provided a translation that was open to misinterpretation.

And in my opinion, I think Autumn Ring will feature a full course, a mini layout, and an extended new layout (along with reverse versions of each).
The GT site states "The second is Autumn Ring, a circuit that will be instantly recognisable to long-time Gran Turismo fans. The circuit will feature a new, greatly expanded layout in addition to the familiar original layout."

So leaving the door open to speculation but not counting out the possibility of Mini.

Suzuka West hasn’t been used for any racing events since 2019 for motorcycles due to the pitlane facilities not being up to standard, there have been a few track day type events but nothing in terms of racing cars events for a very long time.
That should be the only checked criteria necessary to include it; Willow Springs, by comparison, exists almost exclusively as a track day circuit (that needs to be updated now since the track got a massive renovation done recently :sly:).

EDIT: Saw you already got replied about it. To add some relevant discussion, since it is PD we're talking about, there's nothing to suggest we won't get that layout (plus others like Tsukuba Short and Yas Marina's various configurations (I think Road Atlanta has a short variant too, but that may no longer be the case)).

It took PD ten years to fix the Nismo GT-R LM and they still haven't updated the Suzuka logo; I've given up hope trying to understand their logic when it comes to this stuff  that way I'll be pleasantly surprised when something drops.

EDIT 2: Besides, we can't really use the realism argument given that PD literally added a reverse Nurburgring layout

It's very likely that it won't be in Sport mode at all. The point of Sport mode is that it's a somewhat serious competitive mode, so randomness doesn't fit in that. The preview we saw in the announcement is in a regular lobby. Hopefully the roster is just a placeholder, as it's kind of all over the place.
The main thing would be for hosts to be able to turn OFF the awful auto-stewarding. It has, quite honestly, ruined driving standards on Gran Turismo ever since it was imposed on Sport Mode (and before that, on Quick Race in GT6 which no one who wanted clean racing ever used!). The current mindset is, if the game allows something, it IS legal. GTP OLR would beg to differ...

GTP OLR Shuffle lobbies allowed HOURS of clean racing, never the same car, never the same track. And hardly ever any dirty driving (first player to pass dirty and keep the position got kicked, a great example for the rest!)

Even iRacing cannot compete for casual clean racing with its 'everyone is at fault' penalties for an egregious divebombing accident. Those who say this is the only system that works are those who never raced GTP OLR Clean Shuffle rooms!

I think you are aiming at the wrong spot, as you are comparing Private/Community/League racing with a Public Ranked system.

Of course a well run community/league will have better races than being matched up against randoms, because with a community event you can set your own ground rules and have live stewards in every race, and eventually know which drivers are trustworthy or not .

In comparison, most public ranked online races, such as Sport Mode, iRacing, LMU etc. have to find a solution that can work for any driver, at any time, from anywhere, of any skill, without the guarantee that you can spare a real human being to officiate every lobby.

It's not even a issue limited to racing games, as public matchmaking lobbies in any game will inevitably have a wider range of quality. It's the risk you take when you throw a bunch of unrelated players with different objectives and abilities into a blender.

As someone who has plenty of Team Fortress 2 experience, I've run the gamut of public lobby quality. It's just something you have to deal with when you are participating in that kind of matchmaking

What’s GTP OLR?

What’s GTP OLR?

What I am excited about:
  • Cars (the M5 in particular)
  • Tracks (both seem to be „short“ which is great for races with slower cars); Sugo is more appealing to me
  • Sophy upgrade

Everything else is either uninteresting or coming too late for me.

I'm not trying to rag on anyone who likes the M5, but what makes the M5 so hyper worthy? I'm just curious to know why.

The 500 hp v10 engine. Not just the power, but the sound too. It was quite something back in 2005. Though it should be noted that handling wise it was a bit of a boat on account of being a large FR saloon (sedan).

For me:
It is one of the few V10 sports sedans ever built (Audi S6, RS6 being the others). The V10 just sounds amazing.

The competitors had V8s but BMW was very bold with their V10 (which was technically risky and turned out to be unreliable).

I was 18 when it came out so it was one of my (many) dream cars back then. I like the design (although i like the predecessors more) and the technical concept.

And: It will be the first high performance premium german saloon in GT7.

So a V10 Sedan that was radical for the time that suffered from reliability issues correct?

I don’t think the M5 was ever radical. Neither the RS6. They are powerful, but they are not really built for tracks...

They are wonderful car though, they sound amazing and are the memories of the golden era hahaha

And individual throttle bodies in true ///M tradition. That's 10(!) individual throttle bodies. Pure racecar vibes!

Here's an incredible sounding example of an intake exhaust modified M5. The "F1 inspired" in the title is NOT, I repeat, NOT clickbait. Just listen to this thing sing. There's no way a tuned one will sound like this in GT7 but one can dream.

Man, it'd be nice if that much effort was put into more threads, and not just "I want [this car] in Gran Turismo".

I drove an E60 M5 once and felt it underwhelming. The torque to weight ratio isn't great, and the torque curve itself skews towards the high end of the rev range. Combine that with the clunky single clutch automated manual and you have a car that is pretty poor to drive in many road conditions. A contemporary E55 or E63 is a much more fun road car in my opinion.

As for the SOPHY prediction, I'll add my yearly tandem SOPHY post.
Last year November with the Spec 2.0 trailer, we saw the clip at Tokyo Expressway with the three cars driving in tandem. SOPHY has learned Tokyo Expressway. I’m still thinking more has to come with SOPHY learning. Again, PD can’t just put this clip in and not do something with it.

Ok I can see why people like it

"A “Concierge” feature for buying cars.
The existing Used Car and Legend Car dealers rotate their stock, which means waiting for a specific car to appear. A concierge service implies you’ll be able to request what you want instead."

I hope we can choose the colours we want as well. 🤔

I usually roll my eyes at posts like this but hear me out!

In Spec II we got 2 GT legend cars (400R and 190E)

In spec III we got 3 GT legend cars (Mines R34, Espace and FTO)

So does that mean in Spec IV… (Mugen Civic, ???, ??? And ???)

So which one did we get at release? 😉
