Isn‘t it time for Big Mike‘s Prelude from the Fan Fest in LA last year?
I have a feeling it might be one of the 5 “yet to be revealed” cars that will arrive in December…
If I reckon correctly it think I saw somewhere that the average delay between a car being scanned and arriving in game is around 9 months…
December would make it at least 14 months.

You know what, I'm locking in my guesses for the second batch before we get any possible opening intro spoilers, why not:
  • BMW M5 '05. Obviously.
  • Lamborghini Temerario '25. As I mentioned upthread, Lamborghini are handing this out to video games like candy, even if it's not in Spec IV I'm positive this will show up not long after at worst.
  • Opel Corsa GSE '26. This feels like the Polestar spot from last year, where it's the promotional car the brand pays to get airtime at the GTWS with, and then everyone just kind of forgets it got added to the game. Don't think we all missed that recent Super GT sponsored video, Opel, we see what you're doing!
  • Nismo 270R '94. There needs to be some nostalgia in this. PD have clearly been to Nismo's factory for various cars plus the Scapes. There's also been a tuned Nissan in both Spec II and Spec III, though I'm pretty sure that's more coincidence than anything, but it's a thread so I will pick at that thread. It's at least a little controversial since it would be Silvia number 8? 9? and I think picking 6 controversy-free cars isn't fun, so between the Opel and this there's enough friction I think.
  • BMW M4 GT3 '22. There's got to be at least one race car, and this is so obviously a gap that it's hard not to pick it.
  • Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI Rally Car '99. You don't add a Subaru WRC car to your game and then not get to the opposing Mitsubishi eventually, right? Right???
Well, at least I'm guaranteed to get one right!

Even more reason to be surprised and delighted when one pops up out of nowhere, though :D
I don't think I mentioned any Lamborghini LMP or hypercars when I sent my wishlists to Kaz..!! I could be wrong but. But since it seems very random what cars we get in GT7 then it might be equal chance that we'll see a new Lamborghini car in 2027 as for any other 'top 10' wish list we post here or other sites on the internet. My honest opinion is that while the newer Lamborghini race cars looks as good as the other brands, they're a lower priority until further notice.

“Sugo is a track that I drove quite a bit during the development tests for the Nissan GT-R that I drove in the 2012 Nürburgring 24 hour race, and its dynamic track layout is something that I have been hoping to include in the GT series for a long time,” said Yamauchi to Traxion.

“The Autumn Ring has a special place in my heart as one of the first products of my imagination when I created the first Gran Turismo, and is a circuit that I have many fond memories of.

“But looking at it now, it was an extremely compact track.

“This time around, while keeping the original layout as is, it has also grown into a larger-scale international-class racing circuit that makes driving fun.”

I definitely think one of the yet-to-be revealed cars will be massive nostalgia bait, following the template from Spec III. I'm hoping for the Nissan R390 GT1 '98 but I wouldn't rule out the fan favourite Toyota 88C-V '89 which has recently undergone a full restoration.

I also think the SEMA-award-winning Honda Prelude is quite likely to come in this update. The BMW M4 GT3 EVO '24 is very likely as this will (mostly) complete the modern GT3 lineup.

As for road cars, I definitely think we could see the data mined BMW 2002 Turbo '73 come alongside the M4, I think at least one legendary road car is likely since it's been a long while since we've had one. There'll be at least one American car and I think it'll be something recent, I'm going to guess the Ford Mustang GTD '26.

Finally, given that PD recorded a Mercedes-AMG One '22 I think we can be quite confident it will come to the game at some point, and this big Spec IV update is a fitting place for it.

I've mentioned it a lot of times before that if the BMW M4 GT3 were to be added, it would be its regular version, but the EVO kit would be available as GT Auto parts. The precedent has been set with the Audi R8 LMS EVO (Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II), Ferrari 296 GT3 (Ferrari 296 GT3 EVO) and Porsche 911 GT3 R (Porsche 911 GT3 R EVO) where their EVO kits are custom parts as opposed to separate cars.

It wouldn't make sense to skip out the regular version of the car in favor of just the EVO version, if this is any indication.

The EVO is not very different, specifications-wise to the regular M4 GT3, and even if that has new mirrors, headlights and taillights compared to the previous model, these can be front and rear bumper pieces, respectively.

Getting the R390 GT1 (road/race ver. ) would be too sweet but the 88C-V would be mind blowing for me.

I can hardly find modern photos of the 88C-V so having it immortalized in game would be wicked. 🤘

In Traxion.gg article, Kaz commented on spec IV:

“Gran Turismo 7 is still continuing to sell very well, but we had not expected this from the beginning,” said Series Producer Kazunori Yamauchi to Traxion.

“We continue to provide additional content and game modes because there is this user base that is still continuing to grow.”

GT7 will be playable at least past 2030.

GT8 can come December 2028
PS6 can be available Dec 2027

With VR2

ThY would be my ideal scenario

That is because the last functional car was dismantled several years ago. Last inown is that there was a team in TRD working on rebuild it

Hey, if they are rebuilding it, that means there's a chance! Even if it takes several years to be finished, it's better than being permanently relegated to the history books :D

I'm all for the preservation of racing history, whether the car is successful or not.

I think the car being in Gran Turismo is a large part of why they're even bothering to restore it in the first place.

If it didn't have the racing game clout it'd probably have been scrapped by now.

Whilst I'm sure this is just wonderful coincidence, soft launching a new product line in a Triple A racing franchise wouldn't be the worst marketing idea for a company that's had some fallow years in their transition between owners.

I am one of those that absolutely loves the LM longboi, and even raced it sometimes at the lemans daylies.
What a poor end for the Longboi

The unexpected player growth is mostly because from the launch, GT7 'failed to be Gran[d] Turismo!'. It didn't evolve & improve substantially until AI Sophy & the Power Pack was launched. Lack of options, starting 30-40 seconds behind, lot's of grinding the first months of a single player campaign mode is now partially bad&sad history which SIE & PDI hopefully has learned from.
There's still room for improvement.

I liked the Toyota Minolta a lot in GT4&GT5, and while the version in GT4-GT6 is not the one from the early 90's that actually almost won or at least got a few top 5 or top 10 finishes, it deserves a decent historical prestige for what it was, albeit less good than the fastest LMP cars in GT4-GT6 & not as visually cool as the black cars & some other LMP cars but I can't grasp why it should be high priority car to add from the very many better alternatives from GT4-GT6 years?

I think where the 88C-V lacked in real world pedigree, it makes up in it’s cultural impact with the very many who enjoyed it and saw it as one of, if not the best car in it’s class in GT4/5/6.

It’s sorta just become a “ Gran Turismo kinda car “in my opinion.

Not a priority within the context of modern racing games certainly, but a great nod to the older GT fans maybe, eh?

I imagine the R390s (road/race) are maybe much higher on that list of possible inclusions anyway with regard to culturally significant cars from older GT games yet to see a modern HD refresh. 😅

I’m excited either way as I’ve been grateful seeing so much content added to GT7, I’m genuinely and delightfully shocked! 😄
