Kinda weird how we haven't got a proper American car added in over a year. I'd put a good bet on the second update containing at least 1 lol
If there is an American car in there, I'll be surprised if it isn't something pre-1974. Because outside of the Corvette lineage, the only "modern" American car we've gotten in an update is the Dodge Demon. Europe and Japan have a whole collection of 80's-early 00's cars to play with, while the U.S. lineup in that period starts with the Corvette and ends at the Viper until you get to around 2006-2010.

And to not just be a homer for the US, I'm surprised that Japan's 80's-early 00's output is mostly limited to mid-higher end sports cars, while Europe has the BX, the Kangoo, the Panda, the Twingo, the 240 estate, etc. You'd think being a Japanese developed game PD would have some more esoteric choices in it's roster, but for the most part outside of Kei-sports cars, most of the classic Japanese roster are the more mainstream choices that everyone recognizes. It's only when you get to the modern stuff does GT's iconic selection of JDM weirdness start to show it's face.

Technically, they haven’t. SOPHY 3.0 runs on Daytona Oval and Road Course, Grand Valley South, Watkins Glen, Nurburgring GP/Sprint/Nordschleife, Tokyo Central Clockwise/South Clockwise, Autopolis, Yamagiwa and Fuji.

I mean, we’ll see if any circuits are added next week, but there’s going to be a “next evolution” of GT SOPHY, in December. Keep fingers and toes crossed that means SOPHY can run on all circuits, in all conditions and even more options added to Custom Races.
I've already sent one suggestion to Kaz that the latest WEC cars be updated with AI Sophy & IIRC also mentioned the lack of AI Sophy on the latest F1 tracks, but uncertain if I mentioned Fuji & a few other important or popular or real world tracks that are still missing AI Sophy feature. Not an imperative that 100% of all cars & circuits have AI Sophy, but too many cars & tracks are missing that option now & it must be fixed by December 31.12.2026!

🤔 What could they possibly be.

It’s the first time we haven’t been excited about his post. I thought he’d post something more like this instead. :D

I agree, but if we just look at this website’s Suggestions. Regardless if it’s outdated, for PD to use it as a bit of community reference, the Supra RZ is the first road car. Number 2 on the overall list. Nissan Pulsar GTi-R 1990 is the first JDM road car seen on Page 2, organised by Likes. Subaru 22B and NISMO Z-Tune are the only other JDM cars on that same page.
Every road car beginning on page 1 are from Europe. Same thing on Page 2, with the Hennessy Venom GT 2012 being the outlier.

It’s not until Page 12 is there some kind of JDM regular car in the Toyota Starlet (P60) 1.3 1982. Lots of suggestions from Europe have a normal type street car post. Someone suggested a Reliant Robin 1973 on Page 7.

I guess with some of the japanese cars in the game, there at parts we can change to make cars look like base models.
I'm more curious about where that shot is taken. Doesn't look like any existing Scapes location, unless someone wants to prove me wrong?
Judging the direction arrow in the background, could it be one of the Miami locations?

No, the pictures you posted have double lines whereas the one with the draped cars are single lines and diagonal parking

Another Miami spot has single lines. Haven't booted up my PS5 to check in game. Only looking at the Miami Scapes from my profile.

And what does this have to do with Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV
The inclusion of specific models in the Gran Turismo series is driven by Polyphony Digital's preferences, player demand, and manufacturers' interest in promoting particular cars. There are also practical constraints regarding the temporal, geographical, and financial availability of the physical vehicles needed to create these digital replicas.

While this remains speculative, as the exact motivations behind Polyphony's timing are rarely public, it is worth noting (IMHO) that the relaunch of the Citroën 2CV may well have prompted the brand to encourage the addition of the classic 2CV to the game.

The timing was also interesting regarding the Renault 4L, the Twingo, and the 205 GTi, all of which have recently been revived.

Does not work IMO.

Fiat nailed the 500e, Renault nailed the new Twingo, but this is just… offensively ugly.

Interior is fun though.
If they'd given it a faux grille instead of that whacking great Citroen logo I think it's be alright.

I appreciate you posting it in this thread, Freeman. It gives a potential answer for why it was included. This info may aid more accurate predictions as well for which cars may appear in the franchise in the future. :)

Interestingly, the 2CV was just added into Forza Horizon 6 last week so maybe it's not a coincidence after all.

Will Part 2 of Spec IV be revealed prior to it's release date or is PD simply going to reveal the content a few days before launch?

Probably we will see some hints on the new intro on Thursday, but I think the full reveal will happen on the finals ib Tokyo (Dec 5 to 6) and spec IV part 2 will be released most likely on December 10th

Will be interesting to see what events get added with Sportsland SUGO in just a few days.
Especially if there's a WTC 900 or not, as that could have implications for future car content, whether within Spec IV or at a completely seperate point in the future.
We know that Polyphony held off from adding a Gr.1 event at Le Mans until the Hypercar update for example, so they might be doing something similar if SUGO doesn't have a WTC 900 on day 1.
If it does have one though, then newer GT500 machinery can probably be ruled out for a long time.
It would already be a bit odd for them not to be added alongside SUGO in October if they were a part of Spec IV at all, unless Polyphony felt like saving them as the "heavy-hitters" to reveal in December.

There should be at least 1 big headline car that is yet to be revealed for December, of the 5 remaining unknowns, regardless of if it's GT500's or not.
Autumn Ring has already been revealed, so that wouldn't be a big headline if they just re-announce it.
There's a marketing element of "save the best for last" so that the December car reveal doesn't fall flat compared to October.
I'm looking forward to the GT World Series Finals, which would be the most obvious place to reveal the remaining cars and announce something to get the audience to go crazy. :D
