I think it's just a PR thing. I don't want to sound disrepectful but Poly has some of the best GT drivers with Super GT and for drifting there is D1GP.
Though it's cool to see that Sony still cares about GT academy.

That line of reasoning doesn't pass the smell test. I can understand not wanting to make grand announcements about features they aren't sure will make it into the beta but there's no reason whatsoever that they can't release pictures or video of confirmed content at this point, especially considering we are in the launch window and the game should be just about ready for market. Do you really believe they don't have a single car or track license ready at this point?
I hate the silent treatment we've been getting from PD too mate, but to be fair to them, the admittedly odd tactic has created a steady build up of anticipation, that will explode into hype the minute something concrete is announced. Just look at this thread, almost 6000 posts about a game we know next to nothing about lol. The hype will blow up like a 50 megaton nuke when this game gets announced. PD may know exactly what they're doing...
