Livery geek post alert!

They did it again! Such perfectionism was put into recreating the 2025 livery for the ANEST IWATA RC F, only to wrap it up with this windshield banner atrocity.

Why does Polyphony insist on not having custom sized banners at least to an extent? This is the perfect definition of tasting their own medicine.

The Trashqai is the CVT version, at least I get to relive the feeling of being unemployed in post-bailout Ireland and saving up my dole payments to buy a ferry ticket to the UK to look for a job.

Now that there is a Nissan CUV to round out the Japanese starter car quartet, what are the odds of no more CUVs?

Nope.

The CVT is only available on the combustion-engined 1.3-litre models, and on the AWD ones at that. This is the e-Power, which is driven by a 190hp front-axle electric motor with a single-speed constant ratio and no gearing to speak of (even reverse is just the motor spinning backwards). It also has a 154hp, 1.5-litre petrol engine but this is a generator for the battery and provides no drive at all - like a range-extender.

That basically makes it even worse.

Yeah and on the list there are only 2 o 3 SUV/CUV using CVT gearboxes or hybrid systems, so they would be far more interesting from a tunning perspective

If we're going to do a crossover, may as well start with the original. I'll still be driving them all tomorrow anyway.

Are there some improvements to Sophy or is it just the HSR addition?

Btw, PD must be working full time on GT8 by now, considering the contents of recent updates.

Some of these are real SUVs, which actually would be great on off road tracks. X5 M you could even have fun with on the Nordschleife…

As far as I understand it, there are little improvements to Sophy with every update. Some updates provide more improvements than others. We'll have to wait and see what we get tomorrow.

It's funny how your perspective changes on the SUVs when someone close to you owns one. I never hated the SUVs in the updates but the CVT ones do have limited usability and there probably is a more sporty/track usage car to go in their slot, but my Mum owns essentially this exact model of Qashqai but from 2023. Same appearance and interior design. So when I woke up and saw this, I ran to show her - she's not into Gran Turismo, but she still found it cool to see her car there.

And so do I! I acknowledge there might be other cars which give more fun in the game but I'm not sure I would trade another car for the Qashqai. And maybe that's PD's thinking. I'm sure there are others who feel more receptive towards an SUV/CUV if they or someone they know owns one.

It is important though that they find ways to make use of them well in-game, and also the CVT cars. But I actually am excited for the Qashqai. I'm going to paint it grey like my Mum's and drive it around.

I'm a grown man but stuff like this is really cool. And I totally understand why others would go "A Qashqai? Eh, whatever." It's not gonna be the most dynamic car of all time but I have to say, despite that, seeing my Mum's car in game is going to be really cool.
