I disagree... Kinda not the perfect thing... That's an awfully boring life, except that Grid Autosport came...

Woo? :gtpflag:

Seriously, though... even according to my own standards.
You do know what a joke is right?

Just had my Alonso moment - put down twenty qualifying laps to win a Formula C race in Abu Dhabi.

I'm kind of surprised at how poorly some of the AI drivers manage lapped traffic. Rick Scott in particular is terrible at it. But I suppose that every driver needs some kind of weakness to balance out their strengths.

Ok, I just platinumed the Racenet Open Wheel race and got no XP reward for platinum. I only got XP for being first and the difficulty bonus, which amounted to something like 800XP. Same with Touring. That doesn't seem right. @anim8r_uk Do you know if that's the intent or if it's a bug?

They're all terrible at it, at least in Open Wheel. I once passed a lapped car 5 laps from the end of a race and the AI never got passed that car. I ended up building a 12 second lead over the last 5 laps, on very hard difficulty.

Well, with some of my lap times, I don't have to count on slow traffic to win:

Reminds me in GTR2 where the further you were away from the track the harder it was to get in contact with your pit crew.

Yeah, I got it last night going through some of the tunnels in Paris. Beautiful touch.
The crowd also react to you. If you pull off a pass, the cheering gets louder the next time through. And you can also hear the commentators on the PA system from time to time, usually when something happens - like a retirement - that Sherman doesn't update you on.

Speaking of small details, anyone noticed tyre deformation has been modelled? Best seen when driving an open wheeler using the T-cam, you can see the rim tuck into the tyre of the outer wheel while cornering. I don't think the F1 games even have this feature (yet).

I love this feature, as well as the working lights hanging from the side of the track...its the little things that make all the difference!

I just did sixty laps of Okutama Sprint Circuit B in Formula C. That was evil - the circuit feels like something out of RIDGE RACER, because you end up power-sliding the car most of the time, which is not fun in a Formula 3 car. Even the AI get tired; Rick Scott was a second behind me for about twenty laps of each race, but backed right off. I actually had to change flashbacks to unlimited, though in the end I only used four in one race and two in the other.

For me; best, most involving, atmospheric and exciting racing game i ever played since the days i discovered GT1.
More or less feel the same excitement as i did in '98, difference being i'm not a 15 year old anymore :D

My score of 9.5/10 still stands after a week.

Pulled out a Hamilton lap last night - 4 lap time attack at Malaysia and 0.8s down from McKane, other ravenwest in second. Result as it was, I was going to finish season second.

My first 3 laps are good - no errors and just not fast enough to get that second place I need. So I go into my last lap taking slightly more risks, figuring why not?

Even first sector, 0.3s down second, finish lap 0.1s up on McKane. Ecstatic! I'm still not sure how it happened, but I remember that second of surprise as I read the word "1ST" across the screen!

Your bragging is getting boring. Congrats you found a game where you are a tiny bit fast. Now play it and stop hyping yourself up.

Easy, gentlemen. We don't want a moderator coming in here to restore civility. It doesn't matter who said what and when; the moderators tend not to discriminate on such matters - and I speak from experience.

PM, online do you find that Cat C touring cars seem most popular? I was running the V8 Utes other night and found almost no-one in that, but with Cat C tourers I generally find the lobby getting pretty full within 15 minutes.

I'm wondering if it's the whole 'BTCC' aspect of the Cat C cars? I don't remember ever seeing a live V8 Utes race on mainstream TV, but BTCC is on for 7 hours on a sunday every 2nd week or so.

Could be also due to the fact they feel slightly slower and not as heavy, so easier to control?

Personally, I'm really enjoying the Cat A cars :)

@Furinkazen I agree with the Group C tourers. They seem by far the most popular "TIER". I almost find no-one in A for example. A few times I did see a B but I think C makes up for 80% of the tourers.

@anim8r_uk Any insight in those statistics? Per country as well maybe?

As you wrote just above anim8r_uk, it's mainly due to the popularity of the BTCC and they way the cars drive. They are the perfect "warriors" for proper door2door racing. I just love those type of cars.

Sherman's too busy telling me that I didn't do as well in that sector, I was only a second up on my best time.

Sometimes I do wish he'd look at my timing board. :D

I wouldn't know - I don't have an internet connection. Everything I post to the forums, I post through my phone. I'm hoping to get an internet connection once my taxes are done, but that's not guaranteed.

I like that you've taken to calling him Sherman.
