5th on 4-1!

Really digging these challenges. Lot of Americans in these top 25 rankings. Good work. And good work to the Canadians, too. We don't forget you!

Out of curiousity, would anyone know what the Tuned 370Z GT Academy version stock specs?

I like to not rush into these event's and take my time in trying to improve my times, so far I've done 3-1 & 3-2, just trying to get enough to make it to the leader boards then move on. :D

20 gold medals, I'm rocking right now :D If I make keep this up all the way to round 8 (where it actually counts), I'll will implode with excitement.

What are the prize cars?

You don't get them until the competition is over.

^^I thought it was the "top times" that mattered???

The Gold's are pretty easy to obtain, if that's all it took for Round 8, then I should be excited too!! :dopey:

*edit*

Yup,

What's the final time trial event?
The 8-week competition will boil down to one FINAL online time trial challenge – Round 8, Event 5. The event is only open from June 11, 2012 to June 24, 2012 so make it count! Only the fastest lap times will be recorded and entered into the national leaderboards so you must improve your results to move up in rankings. The top 32 players (pending eligibility verification) will be flown to the National Finals in July where they will compete against each other to be one of the 16 finalists.

WHOO!!! I got some low times on the leaderboards myself. Running tight times on 3-1 and 3-5 with the R32 and shaving seconds off like crazy on round 4 with the 370Z. :D But the Sarthe test is one of the tougher challenges in this round. Since all the cones are in areas that I usually hit to get lower times, it's forcing me to take or find newer lines without knocking them over.

I'll be back on the challenges tomorrow.

The only times they are officially counting towards the final competition are the times from Round 8, just FYI.

Had the system on tonight to look at a replay really quick, so jumped on the demo with the good 'ol trusty DS3 and hit Gold on all of them on the first try. :p

Will put some more effort in tomorrow night with the DFGT.

Edit: HUGE props to PD for the cones! Brilliant!!

Lines which keep you on the road you mean?

Yup! They should learn from this and implement some kind of penalty/black flag system for GT6, but in the other hand they allow you to put 3/4 of the car off track on Nurb and force you to drive trough cars to be fast... Where is the concistensy PD!!

ROUND 4-5 was wayyyyyyyy to easy to beat with a DS3. Maybe it was the dozens of laps with the F10 I did...................

I got on yesterday, I guess right when rounds 3 and 4 opened. (But I didn't know that at the time) I did the first event and got ranked 36th. I almost died right there. I have a picture of it on my phone. But shortly after I discovered that the event had just opened.

Good morning all! I'm going to have some videos up hopefully later on today of rounds 3 and 4. These will be posted on YouTube. So if anyone is interested I'll post the links. :)

I found the Sarthe one a lot of fun, was the only one I didn't pretty much gold first time, and took me a little while, but on my last attempt I braked then gave it the beans in a different place, and seemed to fly through the rest, golding with about 1.2 secs to spare. Wish i'd paid more attention to what I actually did, as it made a huge difference :dunce:

Did anyone else think the 370Z engine was too quiet? I hit the rev limiter way too often because the car just didn't sound like it was nearing 7000rpm.

Doing the tests as soon as they become available is great boost to the ego. 27th place on the Cape Ring made my day. Probably in the 20,000's by now though.

GTPorsche
Maybe it's just me, but the sounds seem to be better overall.

Yes, I noticed that when the car hits a wall or another car, the sound is much more realistic than in GT5; for the engine sound I noticed no real difference

Chuckled, I would have done the same :)

I didn't read all the way back so someone correct me if it's been said, but, has anyone else noticed that their TC has been set to 5 on every event. I took it off and redid the first two events and improved considerably.

Maybe its just me, but I noticed some slight improvement in graphics. Its particularly noticeable in the Nurburging test (4-1 I believe) with the way the light reflects of the bumper. Seems abit more crisp.

I hope they fix the gold times before GT6... I really don't see the need for the gold, bronze thing.
Anyway, the new rounds look like a lot of fun.
