37.5! Great work :)! I can see the possibility of that but to nail that takes something! So great stuff 👍

Just did a 37.573 as well 👍 I have a feeling 2:16.5 is possible but I just need to get every corner perfect

Ti-tech did a 37.500 on his lap

That's just nuts! He nailed it pretty much perfectly. I just want to pull my hair out when following his ghost.

Quick question for you guys; how much driving time do you put in and how long are your stints between either resetting or breaks, or both? I was noticing in the replays the odometer reading on peoples cars and it got me thinking about how long the runs are for some of you guys to start dialing these lap times.

It's there and you have plenty of time. It'll come together. 37.5 is quick, nice run! 👍

Off topic, what kind of kart do you run? I have a 2011 Sodi ST30 with a Rotax

Hold on. Are there rounds to this competition or is the full track layout the only thing in this academy that matters? If there are rounds what position do you have to be in to move on to the next one in the US? How many rounds are there? I cannot seem to find Any concrete info

There are no rounds, the top people from the full lap of Silverstone in each region go onto the regional finals, that's it. To find exact numbers go to the website. (just type GTA 2013 into google, you'll find it)

Thanks for the info. So the 31 drivers plus racer x from the US get flown somewhere, do a short race or series of races to determine the top 16 that go to race camp and they get eliminated down to 4 for the final race?

Something like that, yes 👍

Nice! 37.65X was my best for sector 1, nailing corner 1 is such a good feeling and really gets me in the right frame of mind for a good lap.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up guys 👍

Corner 1 makes me feel like I should sell my wheel and try to beat Eric Clapton at guitar instead.

Ah, so that's the limit. I believe my PB was a .75 and that was with a meh T1. It's the final tight left in Sector 1 that gives me fits. I know what I need to do but I get it right maybe one out of five attempts.

Down to a 2:17.221, back into 2nd in the UK :D

@Outlaw, yeh my S1 varies a lot as well because of that corner, getting more consistent though 👍

It's a junior rotax engine on a CRG chassis, I would need a senior engine if I were to race it again, haven't raced it since August 2011 :(

Oh you're killing me, but then again I haven't raced since 2011 either haha! My traveling schedule last year and this year have left me no time to race.

I've just improved, even though I lost 7 tenths from luffield to the end of chapel! Especially chapel! Lost a bit more at stowe but I've never done a better vale and club in all my life. So do realise how much I still have in the tank, but it's gym time now so another day I guess!

2:17.5.. I forgot to mention :P!

Really struggling badly with motivation to play, quite like the combo actually but just struggling with intrest this year,
May be getting some last minute tickets for good wood, so might see if I can qualify through that route this year

 what did I just read...

Working long hours, not much spare time and the heat,
Sitting on the ps3 doesn't seem all that fun right now,
For me to still to be top 15 being a second of the pace, can't be the only one

Don't know how you're all so quick in the first sector, my fastest is still only a 37.92x :dunce:

I've managed to improve to a 2:18.223, currently good for 25th in the UK and 252nd overall. Annoyingly, I had one lap in the same session that was a tenth quicker, but I cut one corner a tiny bit too much... :banghead:

I think a perfect lap for me at the moment would be 2:17.9xx. Even if I don't manage to qualify for national finals, I would like to achieve a 2:17 before it's all over.

I am same as you gmmatthew.. Or matthew lol.. I think my best is mid 17's but thats my 2mins 17's Hall of Fame.. If i get a 17 before the wknd i might have to celebrate with a pint :) come on plz 17... Lol

👍 Im with you there haha.

I've made some progress although I haven't improved my lap time since Saturday.

If I get a clean lap, and going by P.B sector times I can make .2 in T1, .3 in T2, .4 in T3... so .9 which would put me at 2'17.9 .... seems popular for some reason :D

Had a crack at taking my time into the 16's today but I hit a brick wall, I couldn't even get close to my PB, I guess I'll just write it off as a bad day.

Annoyingly I just couldn't crack the first sector, and as I get closer to the low 17's I can't afford to leave a little time in sector 1 anymore, the margins have become to tight.

BanditKarter, handbrake? Really? Brilliant feel and skill.

it's a shame Aus/NZ are not in it because we have some serious guys who play. i have gotten my time down into the 2:19's i think i will end up low 18's by the end.
