that type-r drifting was really good.. made it look like a rear/4wheel drive drifting :p
 
I like FWD sliding in GT3, although in real life its been tried again and again but is a big waste of time, but in GT3 im starting to get into it, but RWD is still my first love:lol:, But FWD is very easy but i do agree that the Type R drifts do look ALOT like 4WD drifting, hmmmmm:lol:

Mad props! to the Gran Dorifto vids. I have found that if you are going to run higher hp cars for drift you can change the tires for better control-ability. I have a Silvia s15 that I drift and it has about 480hp and basically I borrowed Cuda's rx7 infini's settings and adapted em to my sil, but I upped the tires a bit by putting super softs up front and super slicks out rear, sometimes mediums depends on track.

I to love drifting, and there's nothing like flying sideways into a corner and drifting on the bumber of a F-1 car.

I specialize in race drift, and while not as smooth and awesome looking as exhibition, can take you through low speed corners faster than grip can.

Takahashi Ryosuke in Initial D said the secret to fast driving is mastering the Third Point. I'm not a master, but I race an FC-3S with F-1 cars, and WIN. There's nothing greater :) .

If you want some good drift settings, here are some really good (estimate) settings:

-- First, stiffen your suspension (anywhere between 10-14 is good) and lower the height (but not to the ground). Adjustments very on the other parts of the suspension, based on the car's weight, balance, drivetrain, etc.

-- Second stiffen the brakes. Good braking is essential. The better you brake, the faster you corner.

-- Leave your first 3 gears sporty. If they have torque, you can alter your line more easily in a corner.

-- Put Super-soft tires on the vehicle. Believe it or not, you drift better and faster at higher speeds with super soft tires.

-- You dont need limited slip, traction control, or steering differentials to help handling.

As you refine these settings, you can start to minimize steering, while corning to full effect utilizing throttle and brake control.

If anyone races the same way as this, lets trade some info!

what is the 3rd point? exiting the corner?
i would seriously doubt an fc even at max hp would be able to beat an f1 car.. think of the difference in acceleration, top speed, cornering speed, cornering grip! ok so they tend to pit rather early but i can't see a normal road car beating an f1 car..
 
Ahhh... 'Initial D' fans...

The car I have that I like best for drifting is the NISMO 400R (R33). I found that this car even in stock form seemed to already have a very good setup for drifting, and had enough power for it. Of course, that it seems that they modelled the Skyline's ATTESA-ETS fairly well for this car, got the best of both 4WD and RWD. I modded it up to 850+ bhp and that made it even more fun. Running on stock tyres. Anyone used this car?
 
Lol, initial D Has a game for PSone but its very unrealalistic, i suggest you get the Initila D DVD episodes and the third stage Movie, It will teach you alot but some parts are very fake, like racing down a mountain without spilling a cup of water on your dash:rolleyes:, anyway, Kazaa has episodes for downloads too but i suggest you get the DVDs, they are awesome:D
 
and initial d has an arcade game which is good but if any of you have played Battle Gear 3 you know that that game has to be the best racning sim ever, that is until GT3 comes out with a Arcade:D

Where did you but that game, i see it everywhere and i cant find a store that carries it, but, ig you havr played Battle Gear 3, It is way better then both those games:cool:

if u guys want an easy car to drift in try the toms x540 chaser fully modded you can drift without even trying (be careful as it can be a bit temperamental, and also use the analogue stick with the dualshock 2 as it is almost impossible to straighten up with the d pad);)

to handle a car in mid spin you have to get the steering and acceleration balance correct

regaining control is easier with the analogue stick

ill explain wheelies l8r k?
 
k wheelies you gotta have a certain setup. doin a wheelie is only possible in the escudo/c5r/toyota gt1 race car

this is how

Springrate - lowest f & r
rideheight - lowest f & r
auto gear ratio - widest setting
final gear - 3.000
frond df - lowest
back df - highest
tcs & asm to 0

go to test course turn around and flee at 2000kph(closest ive got is 1995.9kph in toyota gt1) ;) have fun and if u wanna go 2 billion kph go here

i dl that from kazaa n ever since i was hooked on drifing on the playstation~
i loved drifting before but u showed me that its possible to do realistic drifts on the game~~
