I would rather all the tracks that have been in more than 1 GT game be left out, tracks like Grindelwald and Red rock valley would be okay but for a track like Trial mountain or Grand Valley to be included which have featured in GT1 GT2 and GT3 would be considered a waste of space imo.

Wouldn't it be great to have all versions of all the F1 tracks ever on the F1 circuit?

But one particular track I'd like to see is Watkins Gen. It's a great track, and I live about 40 miles from it. I could go visit the Polyphony guys when they come to survey it =)

new f1 tracks are rubish they are healvly modified with chicanes in stupid places

What about the Targa Florio it must of been great to watch.
Imagine 600hp+ Sports cars going througth streets and forest roads with spectators lining the road.

To bad racing like that wont return. Too much in insurance costs.

I agree with the F1 track statement. Most are very boring, unless you race the real thing. Then, going in a straight line would be a thrill of a lifetime.

Well am I the only one that likes Deep Forest Raceway than, I'd really like to see that one come back.
It has the most beautifull shadows and tree where sunlight comes through....
And of course I like all of your ideas too, hell put in all those tracks and I'd be playing this till the grave.....

Welcome to GTPlanet, Basje.

So, where can I find this "ultimate F1 track" in question?

I'm happy to see the addition of more street courses in GT4. I think street courses really suit the GT series. I'd also love to see a night version of Grand Valley with contrasting areas of darkness and lighting - You could have a floodlit stadium, then into darkness for turns one and two, a dimly lit turn 3 (the brands hatch style hairpin) then back into the dark for the left/right esses, through a couple of glowing orange tunnels and out onto what could be a spectacularly lit bridge, through another bright tunnel plunging into a really dark chicaine shrouded by the high walls, and then blast back through the effervessing stadium again.

I just thought of a couple of nice ideas as I wrote that:

It would be good if the lights from the cars actually worked: On previous GT games, the lights on cars were invisible beyond a certain range as the game filtered them out along with the other decals on the car. I just think it would be tres cool to see the red glare of brake lights right at the end of the straights (or white glare of people miles behind you). Realtime lighting would also make for some peachy effects on circuits that double back on themselves, especially ones with trees: Think of fanned rays of light shifting across your path as you approach the hairpin on Grand Valley and another exits it on the other side of the trees. All this might be a bit much for the lil' ol' PS2 to handle but there's always GT5..

A secret mode where you could race under the light of only the moon and the stars with no artificial lights whatsoever except perhaps dimmed tail lights. That would be the GT equivalent of a candle lit dinner.

TC:D....just kidding:rolleyes: ..hmmm I would like to see Donington Park,Suzuka,Circuit de La Sarthe,Silverstone...well atleast some more off them great endurance tracks:cool:

There's anothing topic dealing with lighting and darkness, pretty much parallels your thoughts, might be worth a look.

I'd love to see the Le Mans track included, it's a fun, challenging and long circuit. Whether it will be is another matter but we're here to dream...

I'll take a candle lit GT dinner any day, GT complains a lot less, and goes easier on your credit card.

I think le mans is a good idea but i think Pd would have to include the version with the hole mulsanne straight with out the chicanes down it and with out the chicane and the dunlop corner. (1st corner) So the 1980s version of the track would be good

I would also like the Zelweg track in austria it was very fast and dangerous. ( if anybody has a cluse what iam talking about u no what i mean)

And the old 8.7 Mile Old Spa-Franchorchamps track. It was more dangerous then the Old Nurburgring and a lot faster i even think it was faster then monza for average speed.
very bumpy half the corners were 160mph sweepers with ditches and peoples houses 2 meters away

This is the fearsome Masta Kink corner on the old spa breaking down from 200mph + to 160mph and flating it througth the corner one mistake equaled a big crash with no run of.

I have a DVD telling the story of Formula 1 that has the historical battle for second position, in 1979, between René Arnoux (Renault) and Gilles Villeneuve (Ferrari).

Jean Pierre Jabouille (Renault) won, but everybody remembers the battle for the 2nd place. :)

I hope they leave out the Seattle Circuit. When does an LM or Touring style car get airborne like that unless they are crashing?
I hope they include Oran Park, plenty of undulations and off camber turns, and Phillip Island, a fast sweeping circuit by the seaside. Oh, and of course Bathurst.
Length Of Track = 6.213km
Length Of Conrod Straight = 1.916km
Length Of Mountain Straight = 1.111km
Height Above Sea Level = 862m
Steepest Grade = 1 in 6.13
The lap begins at the start line at about 200km/h in 4th gear before you brake hard and go back to 2nd gear for the first turn, Hell Corner. Hell is one of the track's most critical corners. If you get a bad run out of it you lose speed going onto Mountain Straight. And because it is uphill you never get it back.

Griffin's Bend, at the top of Mountain Straight, requires precise braking and 3rd gear, but you're helped a bit by the fact that it's uphill and there's a camber change halfway through, so the car pulls up easily.

It's important to keep car speed as the climb to The Cutting is one of the slowest on the whole track. Having accelerated up to 4th gear, you wash off speed going into and through The Cutting, dropping back to 2nd gear to get on the power for the steep climb.

Powering up to 3rd gear for the run along the fence at Reid Park and into 4th gear for the sweep through the left hander on towards McPhillamy Park. It's all about timing here, get it right and you can set the car up nicely for McPhillamy; get it wrong and the car will be kerb hopping all the way across the top, losing time and increasing your heartrate!

McPhillamy is a blind corner, you never know what is on the other side until you get there, which doesn't take long at 200km/h. It is taken virtually flat in 4th gear, with a slight confidence lift off the accelerator as you crest the brow and the car leaves the track for a moment, just before the sweeping left hander.

The short blast to Skyline will see you hit the limiter in 4th before braking hard for the run down the Mountain, which begins blind. Get it wrong here and you'll never recover.

The key to Skyline and The Esses is to try and straighten them as much as possible. Drop back to 3rd for Skyline and to 2nd for The Esses to keep as much throttle on as possible.

In the middle of The Esses is The Dipper, scene of many spectacular racing shots. While you try to keep the car on four wheels, momentum usually means the inside wheels lift clear of the track.

Exiting The Dipper you're in 2nd gear and accelerating hard, up to 3rd for the run to Forrest Elbow. This is a tricky corner and if you don't brake early enough your race can end very quickly in a tangle of ready-mix and metal. It's another corner of dramatic camber change.

We are doing about 130km/h as we swing onto the longest straight in Australia, Conrod. The exit to this corner is critical. If you come out too slow you've got no chance of passing anyone on the roller coaster ride of Conrod. But getting it right means you'll see almost 300km/h in 6th gear before a quick right hand sweep sees you brake HARD for the left hander at Caltex Chase.

The left hander in The Chase requires 3rd gear, and then its the foot to floor for the right hander over the brow, onto the short straight down the hill to Murray's Corner.

Murray's is probably the best passing spot under brakes at Mt Panorama, so you've got to be on your guard not to go in too deep if you are in front. If your behind then it is a case of forcing the other guy into a mistake and get by him on the inside. Back to 2nd for the corner, on the gas for the exit, and up through the gears on Pit Straight to cross the Start/Finish line to see if you can put in that perfect lap.

Sebring will be the only track I would like to see in GT4. I'll put miles on my cars with that track around.

No need for full-listing of F1 circuits - most of them I would never trade for some GT circuits that has dissaperead trough series.

Still, I'm pretty sure that all previous GT circuits will be in GT4, but some of them will have slight modifications or changes, mostly in altering and tarmac quality. That means return of High Speed Ring, Grundenwald, Red Rock Valley, Tahiti Road and Rome Night for sure, among others. Just hope that SS11 will came in both incarnations.

There is very high possibility of Suzuka, Bahurst, Spa Francorchamps and Sepang. New F1 Shangai circuit in China could be in too. Sony is the only game company in the world that holds the rights for using Formula 1 licence all trough 2005. As Sony recently has a big problems in penetrating the 1-billion-inhabitans-heavy market of China, guess that Comunist Party would welcome such a move of promoting that event (sponsored by the State of China, of course) and their country. So, they could even told the Minstry of Economics to let Sony start selling PlayStation products on their market, and Sony could quickly become the richest company ever in a history of everything. Conspiracy Theory:).

As for Nurberging Nord and Le Mans, I guess there is a high possibility for them, no matter of all denies.

Le Mans would be great. I won't mind if they keep the chicanes, and btw, the straight is technically the Ligne Droite des Hunaudieres, Mulsanne is just the hairpin at the end of it ;)

The old Interlagos before they scrapped the outer section would be cool, but I doubt it. Sepang? I don't really think so. Shanghai? Well maybe with your reasoning but I doubt it. I'd welcome Grindenwald back. Bathurst? Maybe. Oran Park and Philip Island? Won't happen. Those tracks are almost utter unknowns compared to the famous racing circuits that AREN'T in. Nurburgring? I'll keep my fingers crossed. Sebring? Great idea. How about replacing Seattle with Detroit?

Many people say Le Mans, but the thing is, "how can we get more than 6 drivers on the track to make sure that such a long race doesn't get dull?" If you haven't already, go out and get "Le Mans 24 Hours." It may be an old game, but it is about the best effort put into time changes and having many drivers out on track. Plus, you can race Road Atlanta with 18 different competitors. The only problem is long loading times. But it's worth it.

I have the PS1 version of Le Mans 24 Hour, I loved it for it's arcadey simulation (paradox alert) of the great race. I mapped LM into NFS:High Stakes too to use with a few LM cars I found. I don't think it would be anymore boring than the tracks and competitions we have atm, if you're 15 seconds a lap faster than people normally you'll be about 30 seconds faster there. Close racing should hopefully still be close racing, regardless of the people on track. Mainly, I'd want it so we could hold tribute LM races online on it, that'd own.
