Photomode doesn´t sound so appealing to me right now, I´m sure I´ll spend some time playing with it, but I don´t think it will make such a huge difference to the game. Just an extra. Gotta see it when I have it on hands though, maybe I´ll be surprised.

Game's have been doing the above since before Gran Turismo doe's that mean Gran Turismo is a clone of all racing game's that came before it ?

The "twist" that you so eloquently put it, is what every "simulation" fan since before Gran Turismo, want's in there simulation.

When GT5 come's along with the "twist" Forza has already included in there simulation, doe's that make it a clone of Forza, your reasoning sure make's it sound that way....

Dude I don't mean to be rude but your just becoming annoying now. I made my point and won't post here anymore. You already know the anwser to your question. I'm gonna go back to hacking more tracks out of Prologue :sly: You guys need to play these tracks they are so ****in sweet! PD does not let down =)

I can't think of any actual race sims that dealt with everyday cars and allowed you to fully tune your car and have a sense of realism while driving these cars as they all handled differently, GT broke the usual mold that all racing games were using before it, such as sportscars only like F1, Touring, GT etc, no game used everyday cars and the extent of tuning and diversity that GT offered. GT created something new in the racing sim genre.
Thank you for that post :( 👍

And you left without answering my question..... :indiff: :guilty:

whilst on the subject of the GT4|P i've never understood why PD are making you pay full price for a demo ?!

mabye now PD has a real challenger they won't be so quick to fleece there customers :dopey:

💡

Prologue is half of what a full game is in price, and as it's name says it's a Prologue, a teaser, a front for the final game to give you a tester, look at what is coming. Next !!

OK...I will be a hypocrite. PD has it's vision for GT. Ppl like it...$hit even car manufactures use them to demonstrate their cars. They have a simple original recipe that works...has worked three times already. They won't change what works. Don't fix what ain't broken. You will see...Forza will be fun for a couple of months but you will come back to GT and play it until GT5. Mark my words =)

Front have you seen the latest vids? The game has to be at least 80% done and it hasn't demonstrated all that you say.

Is there newer movies than the IGN movies ?

All movies I've seen after E3 has been from games events.
In those games events they have used an old demo build that was
a 40 % complete version of the game (they had signs in a games event
a week ago).

I played Forza at the Gameplay event in the Netherlands over the weekend. Nice graphs. Same (ie bad imo) roadholding as PGR2.

Before the vul(g)tures jump on this, maybe it was the arcade mode you were playing and/or you had driving assists on.

This is funny, all the GT4 "I wanna shag KY up his ass" fan boys are bashing Forza's increased realisim in the form of damage, reverse lights, endless tunng options, dynamic tracks ect, but going on about how great GT4's photomode is. Yes photomode is a nice addition, but would I rather that over damage and dynamic tracks and most importantly AI thats proven to be good. It hasn't in GT4 so far unfortunately, it might be good but so far it's just been the same old crap.

Yes I still think GT4 will be the better game, but Forza will improve over time, it's got a lot going for it. And Marco or whoever you are, Forza has already proven to many people that it's ni the sim camp like GT4 and that the handling feels similar, ie nothing like PGR2's.

I drove Forza to a the gameplay event in the Netherlands, I also played GT4.

Forza is not as good as GT4, I both drove with the assists of! Forza was still very easy to drive while GT4 was much more difficult to controll. Graphics wise GT4 rules over Forza. It feels much more realistic. Damage in Forza was quite nicely done.

I compared the Nissan Skyline GTR in both versions! Skyline on Nurb in GT4 and Skyline on Laguna Seca in Forza.

Best regards,
doblocruiser

ps -> Stick to GT4 👍

Does anyone have any pics or vids of the Forza team testing cars on the road and track like you see w/ PD? I wonder if they went to the extent that PD did to make the cars drive realistically?

Does the fact that PD allowed their test days to be photographed suddenly make GT4 a more realistic game, the bottom line is Forza includes many more variables than GT like tyre pressure and temperature, GT only does grip and wear. Also it's been previewed and the people who've previewed Forza all seem to say the same thing oddly, the cars handle in a similar manner to in GT.

It was a question, not a comment. BTW, GT3 had grip and wear. I haven't played Forza so I won't be biased. All I have seen is the vids and it just doesn't look like they drive realistically. Why is everyone assuming that just because the Forza team say there gonna have this and that, that it's gonna be done properly?

In that case I apologise for replying like I did, it's just theres so many brain dead morons who literally worship PD, it's rather worrying.

That reminds me, which way do you face when praying to the gods that are PD, I have the mat and manual but just not sure on where to look. :) j/p

You must be facing Japan , while praying to PD. :dunce:

Thought that was obvious 💡

Live4Speed,

I am indeed Marco. But why do you stress that out?

Anyway, I tried Forza with with aids off too. GT4 feels way more realistic. If you don't believe me.... well that is you call.

I'm not having a go Marco, youve been fortunate enough to play Forza and make up your own mind, everyone else here hasn't got a clue and whats annoying me is that the second a GT chaalenger comes out they automatically bash it, check the last few pages and you'll see them saying crap like damage is a bad thing and not part of racing, yet GT4's photomode, what a marvelthat is. If I came across harsh sorry, I'm not in the best of moods today but I'll try and cheer up. Welcome to GTP by the way.

Forza does have Ferrari's and very nicely modelled one's too. I find the handling very similar to PGR2. And that is not quite positive.

The tone of the colours was a bit happy too.

At the sony booth they had WRC4 next to GT4. While WRC4 looks really good (but has terrible horrific handling), it pales out next to the Nurnburgring in GT4.

That's what Forza has got to watch, it may be compared more to PGR than GT, but I somehow don't think that will happen personally as what would be the point of having 2 games acting the same? So I honestly think Forza is gonna seriously surprise and scare some people.

:sly: Not tryin' the make this into anything other than what it is (and some of you may and will criticize me on this, but, **** all that), but here it goes,......................

This whole GT4 vs. Forza thing sorta gives me a feeling that this is a U.S. games vs. Japanese games sorta thing. In fact, it sorta seems like a U.S. vs. Japan kinda thing, so here's my full take on it. Gaming is one of Japan's biggest things (second to anime), and it's the same here in the U.S. (second to cinema). However, in roughly five years, it's been said that gaming will become the biggest entertainment form in the U.S., surpassing cinema. Looking at the recession of the industry in Japan, it's probably still gonna play second-fiddle. That's one for the U.S. Now's let's look at the games in general being used in this battle. We've got Forza Motorsport for the U.S., and GT4 for Japan. They're BOTH racing games. They're both at the prime of they're genre type for their respective nation, and they're both trying to be THE best of racing games. Now let's throw some proven knowledge in the all this ****. Generally, unless it's a first-person-shooter or an RTS war game, the U.S. has ALWAYS lost to Japan in terms of having the best games, including racing. And gathering the word on both games from many a major gaming websites and gaming mags, it seems that GT4 will be the better game. That means GT4 takes the racing crown. That means Japan wins yet again. Keep in mind that I'm an American, not anti, just stating my opinion. So in reality, this whole GT4 vs. Forza **** is just one big ego trip. That's all. :sly:

I'm not sure if you played the latest build, the same OPM UK played but you might have. OPM UK mentioned gt4 going the way of pc sims and being seriously hardcore. Do you agree?
