You people make it seem like Forza 4 AI go off all the time. They don't. I've only seen them go off two or three times. They certainly don't total their car when you're next to them too.

Silverstone, one of the races, a 458 was in the lead, and after the second corner coming toward the hill (right hander), I was 100 meters away, he runs wide and crashes - that is my definition of 'totalled' he didn't necessarily ruin the car, but his race was over. FM4 does have maybe a dozen or so cars GT5 should have (dozen's' it doesn't have, but not necessarily should be in GT5), and a few others minor features that GT5 doesn't, but the AI being better is not one of them, the AI while possibly more competitive/difficult, are not more professional, and therefore are less realistic.

The problem with seasonal events is not down to the AI. The problem is that you start 20 seconds after the first car and that the races are short, which means that in order to win you need an overpowered car. Of course the AI will seem slow in that situation.

Another thing, isn't the GT5 AI actually four different types of AI?

- A-spec AI (seems to drive even lap times, doesn't do too crazy stuff, often brakes to let you pass once you're close)

- B-spec Bob AI (can be rather wild and crazy, surely the most flamboyant AI in the game)

- B-spec opponent AI (not nearly as wild as Bob, but they react to the environment. If another car gets close, the driver will become more hot and increase the pace. This doesn't happen in A-spec from what I have seen)

- Arcade AI (you can adjust how "hot" the AI is gonna be)

I think it would be better if all AI was the same, and that it was a combination of arcade and B-spec opponent AI. You could adjust the difficulty and when you get close the AI would increase pace rather than braking to let you pass.

Edit: Also, to add a certain "pilot error"-factor would be nice. Sometimes some AI could be locking up the brakes, or end up on the grass, or even hit another car. It happens in real life so it should happen to the AI too. Not every lap in every race, but to have it happening some times would add an extra je ne sais quoi and make the races less predictable.
