What about the game is not even out and we'll see...?
Ok I can wait five more years.

What about car customization?
Feel free to play other games, we're not going to stop you.Ok I can wait five more years.
GT4 had mechanical customization, and very mild external customization (rims/spoiler)... GT5 will likely have more in-depth customization!
Since there seems to be so much debate over what game is better lets get down to the real things that matter in a game.
Lots of cars:
GT5-Yes
F3- Yes
Good variety of tracks
GT5-Yes
F3-Yes
Fun to play
GT5-Probably will be
F3-Yes
So in the end they are games and as long as you enjoy them who gives a crap what one has slightly better graphics.
Forza motorsport has multiple manufacturer parts for every car. For example, a chevy ZR1 uses a Garrett turbocharger and borla exhaust while a nissan GTR uses a HKS turbocharger and greddy exhaust. You have four different part manufactuars right there. Now if you're talking about the "tuner" shops in GT4(like HKS, spoon, blitz, tomz, etc), then no, Forza dosn't have anything like that.and also GT4 had different rim and part manufacturers! Something Forza can only claim half of... (they had different rim manufacturers, but only 1 type of brand for mechanical parts)
I quite liked it. Shows the big advantages of each game. Forza has the sound and...erm..., well and GT has the physics, the graphics, the licenses....
Not at all.
GT5 looks real.
FM3 looks like a videogame.
👍
PD would never slander another video game in any of it's campaigns.

You have to remember what they do with those licenses, for example PD/Dodge got a Dodge Ram Laramie 4x4 ( when SRT-10 was available), while T10/Dodge got the Dodge Ram SRT10. Of course these examples go for ever imo. It seems T10 knows what kind of cars I like, and keeps duplicates to a minimum.
Got to agree, just don't turn up the volume or you'll hear the GT1 era tire squeel and recoded with a tape recorder engine and exhaust sounds.![]()
PD has campaigns?!?
But there was no difference in the parts at those shops in GT4 and the normal ones, not sound, not power, not even price, a very halfa$$ attempt for PD. I would like to know what he is reffering to though. GT4 also had an enormous selection of wheels, including OEM wheels being able to use on other cars from other manufacturers if I remember right, very cool.
What makes the difference is how the developers manipulate SHADERS. That's what makes the cars in GT5 look REALhttp://ps3media.ign.com/ps3/image/a...5-prologue-screens-20080306100215311_640w.jpg
PD win at that, hands down.
Example: do the gloves in fm3 look real?
You perfectly know GT but let me remind you that alcantara looks exactly like real alcantara on these sparco gloves, not to mention the rest of the dashboard. In forza everything look FLAT, plastic, fake, videogame....whatever you want to call it...
It's not only about the quality of the textures, it's also about shaders, how a specific surface looks depending on the lightning
IMO
FM3 is Oren-N.Diffuse Shader/Blinn Specular Shader
GT5 is Lambert Diffuse Shader/CookT. Specular Shader![]()

Strangely, Top Gear has been mentioned in this thread a few times. And honestly, I don't understand what's wrong with people who say they hate the show. Do you, people, also hate Christmas, puppy dogs and marshmallows?
Top Gear is an entertainment show and a damn good one. Their reviews aren't meant to be taken seriously but saying that they have no passion for cars is just wrong. In fact, I can't think of any other automotive show that has so much love and passion for all things motoring. Watching Top Gear reminds us that cars are much more than just means of transportation. If you want consumer advice the show is not for you, Top Gear is a show for people who can look past the numbers and appreciate cars for much more than just means of getting from point A to point B.

Come on. If you relax and just "feel", even the Forza players deep inside feel that Gran Turismo is the icon among racing games. It's not just the authentic beauty look of the graphics, it's everything all together. Just recently I played GT1. My hardest licence tests were those with the Dodge Viper on SS R5 and that with the TVR on SS R11, I was hooked right away, even today that game is so impressive challenge wise speaking, back then it was a shock for the gamers, so big it instantly became the classic among the classics. I wish long live to Polyphony Digital and Kazunori Yamauchi, his vision is amazing. Oh, and I am not a fanboy, I used to critisize GT as soon as I see something wrong with it, but overall GT feels deadly amazing to drive and to look at, the nucleus of GT is still authentic, and even cultic, thinking of this I realise Forza is nowhere near GT's world, the great pleasure mixed with great frustration and such seriousness is unparalleled, no game on any system gives you the seriousness of the "challenge" Gran Turismo is capable of.
+10000000000I just hope none og that changes in GT5. I really hope they don't make it like GTPSP. I think what most people are really afraid of is that GT5 won't feel like a GT game, that is what I'm afraid of, I don't care about the release dates, I got other games, all i hope is they get the game right

I'm hoping that 30 skylines aren't in the game.
By that I mean I just don't want every car from GTPSP because that would mean that we only get a handfull of new cars.
Thanks, I've been trolling here for a while now.Welcome to GTP new member... but i think you post in the wrong topic![]()
Isn't there something like Forza-planet on the net?
I'm asking this because comparing these games seems, to me at least, a bit irrelevant since their both exclusives on different consoles and since most people only own one console they choose one or the other based in part on the games catalogue which each console represents.
The main reason Forza exists in the form it does is that GT created the blueprint for racing and driving games based on the huge succes it was and still is.
Imitation is the sweetest form of flattery, even if the imitation extends to choosing the same language to name your game (italian).
I don't mind if they started by imitation and then moved the game forwards, since that is exactly what made Japan what it is today.
And to be honest, with the long wait in front of us, i found myself wondering the other day if Forza 3 or whatever it is called were to be a multi-platform game i might rent it or even consider buying it, although merely as a stop gap towards the release of GT5.
But it isn't and it won't and although i use Windows on my PC because i'm too lazy/uninterested/digitally illiterate to use open source software and not financially able to trade my PC for something with an Apple-logo, i couldn't even consider to trade my PS3 for an X-box.....
