Do you think you will be able to buy the collectors edition actually in a store? or will they be all sold out throuhg pre-order online?

i pre-ordered the game today and im just going to upgrade it to the CE as soon as it is available. they said i will be notified when it becomes available. cant wait:drool::):sly::crazy: *full of emotions*

not only is PD rewarding those who were patient (some people here certainly weren't), they announce this. I am MORE than willing to pay $100, been a GT fanatic since the very first. Bravo PD and SONY, you know how to make those who wait happy.

This is how you do a collector's edition. The book and the model car seem really cool. The DLC is great and all, but I applaud Sony for doing something out of the ordinary and gearing the collector's edition more towards enthusiasts (rather than, you know, giving us a flash drive and a keychain )

+1.

Anyone know if I can transfer my reservation to another store if I happen to move, say, 650 miles away? :p

I don't think you can do that. I pre-ordered RDR at a different GameStop and went to a different one to pick it up and can't. Pre-order where you'll pick it up.

We also get a keychain. :p

I could take or leave the model and the keychain, but id really love that book. I wonder if they'll announce a 'lesser' collectors edition with just the book, that would be perfect. But if its decently priced, and assuming Australia even gets this collectors edition, then i look forward to getting it.

im soo gonna get this, too bad is not a 1:18 scale car :PP , il be getting it because of the book mainly, i love big manuals (like the Forza 2 LCE edition).

Awaiting official news for PAL regions, must get a pre order in fast as I imagine this will sell out very quickly.

Here, confirmed that we'll have informations about the collectors edition for Europe in the coming weeks. And yes you gotta be quick this thing is going to move really fast I'm afraid.
Trust me, it will be limited in as much as they will make as many copies as is required to satisfy initial demand, plus a bit more, then it will cease production and hence befit its name - collector's edition.

Yeah it wont be limited in the sort of way were there will only be X number available in the entire world. It will be more like we will honor every pre-order for a certian amount of time and then that number of collector editions will be produced. So as long as you preorder in the first week or 2 you should be ok.

Robin.

Yeah I already pre-ordered mine at EB Games. I had a regular edition on order since early last year, rang them up first thing this arvo upon the announcement of the Collector's Edition and had the reservation changed to it. They want me to go in tomorrow and put down a larger deposit though, which I'm glad to do.:sly:

I will buy two if I can, and a standard version.

One CE to play, one CE to keep, and one standard verion for my son so we can race, and he can kick my ass !

How much are they asking for it at eb?

No price yet, but my local branch said they'd like a $30 deposit as opposed to the usual $10 one for regular games.

Suggested Retail Price (SRP) is $99.99 U.S. I went to Gamestop last night and they didn't even know about the Official Release date, Ha ha. The guy in the store went on the internet and saw it and said "Holy S***, they finally gave it a date". I told him about the Collector's Edition and he said that they didn't have any info (How could they? - They didn't even know the release date) on that yet, but that I could put something down on the regular game and check back in with them in a day or two. He said I would have to come back into the store to switch the deposit over to the 'Collector's Edition" from the Std Copy once they had the information available in the store.

you know if they include a special livery on 5 cars in the special edition, does this mean there cant be a livery editor else everyone could reproduce the special cars included in the edition pack??
any ideas?💡

ok thats it, im moving to america!
no date for europe&uk sucks, and no price :( im guessing £70+(£67 = $100 atm) tho, not bad considering what we get i guess, better lce than the forza 3 (which i did get :P) but mroe expensive. oh well.
GAME & AMAZON UK HURRY UP!

Man, I sure hope the CE is coming to EU/AU. I've never liked exclusive pre-order bonuses (egalitarian gaming FTW), but this is GT we're talking about, so I'll be pissed if it's only available in the US. In that case I'll probably import a CE from the US, keep the bonuses and trade-in the game for a local copy (just in case future premium DLCs are region specific - I only have credit card for my AU PSN account).

From the bonus goodies, I'm most interested in the book. I hope there's lots of behind the scenes stories and photos of GT5's development in it; because judging by the blog post, the other contents don't seem so special (car history, driving techniques, tuning basics, etc). Since the cover says "Apex", I think this will be similar to the "Beyond the Apex" video in GT5P (but in the form of a book, and longer). Here's hoping...

Second thing is the probably the bonus cars. Looking at the GT-R replica and the SLS pre-order bonus posted a few page earlier, I think "Stealth" livery means these cars will all be converted to a full carbon fibre body (think Ford GT LM Spec II ) and tuned to LM levels (ala PD's signature fictional LM models). I suspect they will release these cars for free on PSN a few months after release though, just like in GTPSP.

The GT-R model is a bit meh to me. The manufacturer (Kyosho) seems to be top-notch, but the 1:43 scale is way to small IMO. I mean, how much detail can you put into such a small model? Still a cool and welcome gift though.

The custom box, certificate and keychain are nice, but meh as well. Unless you want to sell them in the future, but would you? :sly:

Are you sure they are going to get the CE? I checked EB's website and they only have the standard edition for pre-order (at $118 no less ).

Probably they haven't updated their online database yet; but unless it's 100% confirmed it's still up in the air in my eyes...

hello guys i couldnt read all posts but i have a important question
1.how much will cost gt5 collectors edition (its not so important because i would pay 150euros and i think GT5 CE will be cheaper then 150euros ...)
2.the main question
can i play the US version on my EU ps3? (i think max 7-14 days after the US realase it will be realased in EU) but i want to be on the save side
3.where can i buy/preorder it ?
4.will gt5 ce only be avaible in USA? because a guy said that we have to be fast because there wouldnt be much gt5 ce s

Kyosho's Ferrari models in 1:43 are some of the nicest you can buy.

Also is the SLS the only of the 5 cars we have seen?

Finally, So 2 of the cars were the Mclaren f1, Mercedes SLS. What were the others?
